Thank you for your video guys!!!!! Me as a female found your channel very useful to me. I switched the breaklight switch, changed my breakpad and rotors by watching you guys video. Keep the good work guys, a girl like me appreciates these videos. Thank you again
I was about to follow all the steps before I decided to read the comments, thanks to everyone that suggested not to drain the radiator first, I was able to replace it with no problem and I didn't have to drain it.
Hey guys. So I flowed through with the steps and replace the thermostat successfully. Went to turn on the car and it wouldn’t start, CEL and AWD light are lit. Do you have any idea what could be causing this issue? Thanks in advance.
Hallo, please help. My coolent bleed valve broke ( the one with a cross on top) I was refilling my coolent the way you showed us on one of the previous videos, so when I was fastening back I did it hard and and the top broke. How do I fix it please and can I replace it.?
My daughters 2018 dodge journey is overheating. In the summer the inside was hot. She got the thermostat housing fixed and the water pump fixed. Could it be the thermostat?
I have a 2012 journey and I have a problem with it, the oil got into the cooling system and make a lot of milkshake inside , is there is a way you can tell if the issue was a head gasket or a oil filter housing , no overheating issues or smoke it was running normal, I need help . Thanks
You guys are giving people BAD BAD BAD information. People do "NOT" have to waste money replacing the plastic housing unless it's obviously broken. Also draining the rad and taking off all that undercarriage is "NOT" necessary because you don't have to drain the rad . This is what the dealers mechanics do in order to charge you 500 dollars apposed to maybe $80. . All you have to do is let the car cool off, remove the hose ( Have a bucket under neat to catch the bit of antifreeze that will come out... Then you simple replace the thermostat, put the hose back on, refill the fluid and your done... It's as simple as that, these guys are wasting your time and or money by following their instructions.
Bout 75% of the video was removing the splash guard just to drain the damn radiator which you don’t even have to do. This was giving me anxiety just watching it!!
I have a church buddy I think is going through this same problem! Not sure if he knows there are 2 thermostats! 2012 model! No mechanic booklet to read for vehicle either! I’m betting this is his problem driving him crazy!? 😮
@js59695 there was no need to drain the vehicle of antifreeze just to replace the thermostat and housing. Need only remove the clip and catch only the few ounces that are in the hose. That being said all the time and effort spent taking the underpinnings off was a waste unless your goal is to flush not just change the thermostat.
Why are you guys working in driving suits, seem a little ridiculous to work on your race car in your driving suit, let alone on a Dodge journey, good video though

You should vacuum fill your coolant system so you don't have to bleed it
I clicked on the thermostat link to Amazon and the Amazon site says this does not fit my Dodge Journey
I'm in Florida and it's over heating
Is ther 2 thermastats
There is absolutly no reason to drain all the coolant fluid to put in a new thermostat ???
Need video replace water pump
I have a church buddy I think is going through this same problem! Not sure if he knows there are 2 thermostats! 2012 model! No mechanic booklet to read for vehicle either! I’m betting this is his problem driving him crazy!? 😮
Is it possible to change the thermostat with draining the coolant?
YES... please read my comment up top
Maybe it’s just me, but bleeding the coolant after you put in the new thermostat is part of this process and shouldn’t be a separate video.
Video doesn't actually show how to install.
Put gloves on take that watch off wont get caught on anything
A lot of unnecessary steps
