    This is an example of why vets belong in training camp. Just because you’re a veteran you should not be exempt from being in training camp because that’s where cadence and the team gels and gets on the same page before the season.

      Definitely the division is ours to lose but integration of Diggs and Mixon is paramount to the Texans success.
      Our offense needs to be more in sync, penalties stink and not running the ball effectively is rough for the passing game.

      We'll take the division because of how weak it is but we're not going deep in the playoffs. This was supposed to be a high caliber/high scoring offense that could keep up with the Cheifs, Bills, and Ravens. 3 weeks in, I haven't seen any sign of an elite offense except for our run game in week 1.

      @@TanglishcoupleI agree with you 100% our offense needs work. I feel like what happened in this game is a reality check for the team and our coach to better prepare themselves for the long run. It sucks & I disliked how they did not score past 7 points. But I take this loss as win. They need to recognize they need to put in the work for the tougher opponents we are about to face. The way they played this game is not the potential I saw last year. They need to correct themselves and do better.

    We are fine, they needed a good kick in the pants apparently. The league has had a year to adjust to CJ, this is good if they look at it right. They are ahead of last year, stop acting like Cowboy fans and let coach take care of this. If this continues, then we'll have something to talk about. Let's see if they punish the Jags for this.

    • @ktcarl
      @ktcarl 2 дні тому

      I don't understand what you mean when you say "The league has had A YEAR to adjust to CJ,...". How did the league make these adjustments in the off season when not preparing or playing against the Texans? The league had all year last year to prepare for the Texans and CJ. They study game film and prepare accordingly. The Vikings game was a major failure of the OL. If there are good adjustments made by the OL this next game then I would say, "We are fine." But until then this team is in trouble. Bryce Young was benched for poor performance. Why don't OLineman get benched when they don't perform? Tunsil is not worth what the Texans are paying him.

      @@ktcarl Well, I have never coached or had anything to do with organized football. So, I would think coaches spend lots of their time thinking of ways to scheme against a rookie QB who 'appeared' to be unstoppable. My opinion is 'that' plays more into the sophomore slump than anything. Just an opinion, I would expect anyone involved in organized football to be film junkies. I hear it all the time, I would be worse than them all looking for patterns. Did you ever hear how Aggasi always could break Becker's serve? He noticed he stuck his tongue out the side of the his mouth on the side being served, and depending on how he did it, it was a lob or a bullet. Hahahahahaha, if I was Becker, I would never get over that. PS, I am NOT a Cowboys fan and I have things to do and don't watch like I used to.

      @@desertcrab6331 Well most teams have a week to prepare for the opponent's QB. There's not enough time for them to go over all of last year's game film. The Houston sports talk gurus were talking before this season started that the fans should be prepared for CJ to throw more interceptions than last season. CJ is still a young QB and has time to grow. He'll be fine if the OL improves. Mixon and Dell are out for this next game vs Jags.

    Tunsil has been overrated for years. He should have had many more flages last year as he is always jumping the snap to gain an edge. This year they are calling him on it. He and most of our line are ballerinas when we need road graders. Both tackles are not that good. The rest of the line is worse. Honestly I would trade most of them that are not aggressive work horses. They should be just as aggressive and high motor as the Texans defensive line. Another thing with the run game is that we need to be unpredictable. On 1st down everybody knows there's an 80% chance we will run the ball. Play action and bootleg roll outs will help that. in the end, when CJ drops back, he's not getting the time he needs to go through the progressions. Again, this is due to predictability on passing downs. Screens and short crossing routes will loosen up the defense a bit. Our OLine is going to bulldoze anybody. we need creativity.

    I get running the ball is important. This team has too many weapons to be a run first team. What's the point of having 2 legit #1 recoevers and a 1B in Dell? Shultz is a good pass catching t.e. mixon is a great pass catcher. Brevon Jordan. Cade Stover. All great hands. I think this offense is struggling for an identity. There's too much going on when you have nico, diggs, dell, all have lined up in the backfield in gimmick plays. We don't even have a true fullback yet all we hear about is how we need to run the ball more to open up the pass. I really think we need to use the pass to open up the run. Stop going for 25 plus yard passes so much and get the t.e.'s involved more. Shultz was CJ's go to last year for mid passes and he's barely involved in the passing game right now. My .02.

    As a Texans fan, I’m sure Laremy will get it together, my main concern is how conservative we are on offense this year. The play calling seems so bad unlike last year where it was so fun to watch and creative

    Tunsil is trying to get out of his stance and get In his set. He needs to trust his skills. Running the ball will help keep the defense honest and not Teeing off on pass rush. It might ease Tunsil and the others minds as well knowing the edge rushers have to be true.

    Tunsil's false starts earn him the top spot on the all-penalties team.

    I’m really concerned and it seems like the overall fan base is feeling the same way… the city is really in tune with this team and so many fans have voiced their concerns this week. I don’t think any of us thought that there was a chance that we’d look worse than we did at any time last year and that’s how we’ve looked. The unstable offensive line last year did much better as well as our offense. We haven’t looked good at all this year and it is concerning… haven’t seen or heard that “dawg” in CJ that we saw last year… again.. long season… but if we come out looking shaky again this week… even with a win… I think the city will start to panic

    Far as superbowl goes, nobody winning it in September regardless. The goal is to play good football and hope to be playing at your peak come playoffs. The NFL has a lot more parody across the league and any team can lay a egg and get dusted.
