    Surah Al-Hujurat (Arabic text: الحجرات) is the 49th chapter of the Qur’an. The surah titled in English means “The Private Chambers” and it consists of 18 verses.

    “O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them; nor let women ridicule [other] women; perhaps they may be better than them. And do not insult one another and do not call each other by [offensive] nicknames. Wretched is the name of disobedience after [one’s] faith. And whoever does not repent - then it is those who are the wrongdoers.”

    About this Surah:
    This Surah contains many lessons for Muslims to live by. It teaches proper social etiquette and to have respect and love for Prophet Muhammad (may peace be upon him). It advises how to deal with one another and lays out some guidelines to live a peaceful and harmonious society. It advises against acting on news without verification, a call for peace and reconciliation, as well injunctions against defamation, suspicion, and backbiting
