Porter switched up so much from this to Worlds, and from Worlds to Virtual Self. Nurture is probably gonna be a whole new style. It’s crazy how Porter can do so many different things with his production.
People always say that Getter, slushii, and other people made OWLSA what it is today. But what people forget is that. Porter's spitfire album was the first album and song OWSLA ever released and debuted. (though, i like Getter and slushii. Porter is one of the greats for OWSLA, it started a career for a legend)
Legend states that at the apex of dubstep, in the land of electronica, there rises a glorious spire, and there--if you look closely at the pinnacle--you will see a clockwork angel playing THIS song.

Classic. Great melody, great bass, great buildup, great execution, one of porters first released tracks from OWLSA it never fails to dissapoint. You've come so far, Porter.
nurture is gonna be really good tho, true that he doesnt do stuff like this anymore, which is a bummer, but it wouldnt be fair to say that the stuff he makes now isnt good
This song makes me think so much its good for everyone, Porter isn't big enough he should be way bigger, no one can even get to this level of brilliance.
The first time i heard this was on tumblr and i really miss those time, not that i dont love his new stuff which i adore but hiw things were simple and i didnt have to worry about money, work, taxes, and having a busted back window on my car during the dam snow wish i just had to worry about highschool or just summer before highschool wishing id wake uo and it be 2007 and play gmod or any game from that time, its been to long
Saint Hotline LOL that was me I was 13 when I bought this song it was so good still is the memories man the things I’ve lost it’s crazy how fast it flies by
I only recently found Porter in 2020 listening to his track "Ghost Voices - Solis and Sean Truby Remix". Amazing track! For this track Spitfire, all I can say is that I'm very glad Porter continued to work on his craft and progress the way he did.
deff classically inspired...these kind of "formula" cadences in chord progressions were used quite often & very common in traditional songs from the early renaissance, baroque, classical & late romantic time period. it just kind of develops over time & these artist adapt & warp it to their style in this particular case PR did a magnificent job imo. the idea is more of a basic foundation influenced heavily by classical music but i wouldn't be able to pin point it to one particular sonata allegro, symphony movement, or any particular form of composition. shit bangs tho for real.
ok hear me out I was listening to this song while i was watching the old diamond dimensions (old series by dantdm if you dont know) series, and on the seventh episode the fairy from Zelda Navi was saying "Hey listen!" over and over, and just sounded so good with this song because it was on beat and in key and really fit in.
I'll never forget the chills I got, when I first heard that intro.
Same. And I felt kinda the same thing when I heard first half of She Heals Everything, also by Porter
yo is that a rogue logo on your profile pic?
hiko and cadiaN ex-team
still get em when I come back here tbh

Real artists tend to evolve an change their styles. Porter constantly has to shed his skin. He's a true creator
I do miss this sound tho lol his Ultra 2013 set was the best Porter for me
@@treeinch252 I found him thru Worlds, so that has always been my favorite iteration of his style
@@thunderlight2004 worlds is also amazing! Hes talented in every aspect of producing electronic music
I found him through his remix of Animals

Salamander Man has slushii even ever released on OWSLA? I've never noticed it

They released his remix of Skrillex & Wiwek's song Killa.

Ayomane yo don’t forget KOAN Sound that guy a legend!
Porter as Virtual Self is one of my favorite artists now, but I always forget that I knew him with this track.
Still amazing 7 years later.
honestly one of the best idm dubstep I've ever heard especially for its time
10 years later and this is still my favorite song. Thanks man.

ahh nice youtube recommendation.
is it me or am I getting shades of 1970s Tangerine Dream [ I'm guessing the 1975 album Rubycon] at 0:41 and 3:26 ?
Wish Porter still produced dubstep and bass music and would stop playing the same Worlds set. Hope Porter plays a dubstep set at Bass Center

Thanks to the trailer for the movie Trance from Danny Boyle I found this excellent song and I haven't stopped listening to it in the last 7 years.
