Thank you!! This was the best, most informative maintenance video I have seen. I have had my 8550 almost 3 years, and never knew to do this! I am having banding, and the internal cleanings from the printer aren't helping. I just followed this tutorial and couldn't believe the gunk and build up on the print heads. I am crossing my fingers that it fixes the problem!
I'm using my ET-8500 for normal printing not sub. Can I still follow these cleaning steps? I'm having jamming issues when using thin glossy paper so I'm trying everything I can. Thanks.
@@DatInkzPoppin I'm using thin paper. 160 gsm 38lb. I watched as it printed with the top up and noticed the right side of the paper always snags at a certain part kind of near where the head sits when it's idle and it make the paper start to curl instead of exiting and that's what's jamming it. There is ink I need to clean on all the bottom and maybe cleaning the rollers will help too. I wish I could set it so the rollers or head was lower or something. I can only choose gloss paper. There is the thin paper setting but it doesn't say anything about photo or gloss. I really wish I could use a program the printer would understand where I could put not only size and texture but thickness in actual measurements or something. It's double sided gloss paper.

Hello, excellent video, friend, I have one of those printers and the gray color does not go down to the head, since I filled the tank with ink all the other colors went down in level to the head except for the grey, the hose could be clogged, what do you recommend I do? ? I have already done the automatic head cleaning and nothing, the printer is new. You know that when the ink is recharged for the first time and we turn on the printer, the ink levels drop, in my case they all dropped except the gray one, and consequently it is not printing well
@@DatInkzPoppin do you have a video with this process? This same thing happened with my black ink on initial setup and I’ve done the power clean and waited 12+ hours

My photo black is not printing at all. I’ve done many cleanings and even 2 power cleanings but still the same problem. Hoping you have a suggestion for me. Thanks

I just got my 8550 printer a day ago. I'm having horizontal lines thru my 11x17 prints, but the 8.5x11 prints. (For sublimation) I've done all the alignment checks and cleaning from printer. I've done the manual cleaning with the paper towel and window cleaner. My bidirectional is off on the printer and my laptop. I still have horizontal lines. Anybody can point me in the right direction would be great. It's driving me crazy cause I just got this printer a day ago. Thanks in advance.
I know this is late, but what I did was made sure the settings in the computer were the same as on my printer. Turned off thick paper, set my print quality to normal on plain paper, I set automatic to standard and increased resolution.

If you haven't already try doing a power cleaning and let sit for 12 hours. If that doesn't work try using a syringe to pull ink through the lines.

You cannot clean out the maintenance box and reuse it
You can modify it and reuse it with a chip resetter.
You can move a little faster with simple things. we don't need to be told 3 times to trigger an obvious latch.
Thank you for watching. I will be better next time.
