- In the early 1960s, Denver’s Larimer Square was known for its homeless population and abandoned buildings. When Denver’s Urban Renewal Authority publicized its plans to raze the area in an effort to modernizing the city, preservationist Dana Crawford interceded and launched her own plan to preserve the historic buildings dating back to the 1860s. Crawford’s efforts helped to revitalize Larimer Square, leading to the thriving hub of commerce and community it is today. But her influence did not stop there, over 50 years later her legacy can be seen throughout Denver from modern lofts to the historic Union Station. Meet one of the country’s most influential preservationist.

She is a lovely person
My dad was born in Trinidad, Colorado in 1923. I was born in Durango So it's my homeland. I grew up in Georgia but I still have a lot of family there. So glad Mrs Crawford is who she is. Buzz on!!!
The historic Colorado Hotel in Glenwood Springs needs you ❣️
Thank you for your efforts. Having just been stuck in traffic on 25, I can attest to the fact that Urban Renewal had nothing to worry about. Plenty of new development. I wonder how many cities that program trashed.
25 minutes isn't enough time to do justice to this woman, her life, and her works.
This lady is gorgeous, she easily could have been a model. I've been to Salina, KS, Schwan's Frozen Foods and Tony's Pizza were my clients and what great folks make Salina happy me.
One of the great thrills of my life was riding a Texas and Pacific train out of Denver's Union Station to Fort Worth in 1964.
Those were the days of train travel for sure!
Very recommendable!
