Modern games be like: Censor the gore and titties in a Mature title, censor tummies in a Teen rated game , Reddit dialogue for our insufferable characters, introduce a $20 item minimum cash shop on top of the 70 buckaroo price tag, ban you because our automated system determinded that your high blood pressure was due to toxic rage, and don't forget to tip our devs tee~hee~
it would be funny if it would not be so tru. even the tipping they will most likely implemment. because mah poor publisher
Reddit dialogue for every character, you mean?
It has gotten to the point were I am just not interested in new games. I am comfy with my 900 game steam account. I don't need 70 dollar trash while I already own more games than anyone will touch in a life time.
@nathanpremo give boomer-shooters a try. Also metroidvanias/soulslikes. Have not seen a bad one yet. At least outside of early access.
@FF8IrvineFan were they in early-access? The ones i've gotten to play were Lies of P, Another Crabs treasure, and Lords of the Fallen (post patches)
No tummy no money
no cunny no munny
Correct
Imagine being the one who decided to censor tummies…
It is honestly weird that the countries that require you to cover up in the gym and to dress modestly at work are producing video games that are being censored in the countries where you can wear sexy outfits at the gym and show cleavage all you want at work.
You forgot the part that the conservative clothing country is okay with releasing the skimpy version of the game, this is like the mega version of rules for thee not for me
whenever something oxymoronic like that is the result, it's marxism , 9 times out of 8.
This kind of 'contrast' is part of its main engine.
Denominations, in the following example, are just either actual denominations, or allegorical ones, like letters in lgbt, or things like inflation and the like.
Homosexual pride flag is a rainbow, because it represents diversity, meanwhile, homogenous is the utter opposite of diversity.

No tummies, what's wrong with the tummies?
there's wombs in there. feminists (aka marxists, aka ashkenazim) hate it.
"Those gahd-DAMN ANIME BELLY-BUHTTONS!"
At some point we will straight up censor women out of our games
Remember when cosmetics were secrets and earnable/unlockable in-game?
This wizard fuckin remembers
Best case I remember is Halo 3 with certain armor configs.
I never did earn 'em, but respected the mechanics that Bungie put in place... and the players who bested them.
We boycotting the entire gaming industry or what? Let's remind them who has the power here.
6:50 YES. I only just started but you could've easily ground out the Gil and bought em. You already bought the game+expansions! Why pay more for cosmetics!!
... I will admit I have bought in bc there was a nice outfit that I slapped on my budding Arcanist and it happened to match his Carbuncle...
9:50 Reverse 1999 can be pretty f2p friendly in my experience. Sometimes they just
Give you pulls. For logging in.
And most of the story will give you 60 Clear Drops (they're basically Genshin's primos) so if you're bored you could hammer out a chunk of that grind in an afternoon.
Oh good lord the eve council was spectacular. Everyone is taking it super serious except the guy from goonswarm
Welp, I'm region locked so I guess I dodged a bullet on that one.
Anyone know of a longer version of the music used in the outro?
waiting on art before a video will be uploaded just like her intro, chatting, and break music
I completely understand the sentiment of, "subscription based games shouldn't have a cash shop." However, for me the line gets blurred when the game offers plenty of good looking items that you can acquire from just playing the game. I don't have to use the cash shop, i can still look cool without spending anything extra. If all the good mounts, outfits, etc are ONLY in the cash shop, then I have a problem. That's just my opinion, though.
Also if that one person was referring to the Rainmaker hair in FF14, they did bring it back. It did take them forever to do so, though.
Quick tip: in FF14, if it's not on the cash shop a year later it means the event will come back. They never make people pay for items that they'll have the chance to get again for free. (Yo Kai Watch, Dragonquest, FF15, FF11, etc)
Your first mistake was thinking any game involved with amazon was gonna be good
Bummer. I was kinda looking forward to Blue Protocol. Looks like I'll just skip it.
Azur Lane started having BiS gear that were locked behind limited events which irks me. You can still get every UR banner ship if you just wait 2-3 years after missing the initial release. Kek
I played till max level on the JP servers. Just me, you're not missing much. The game's best quality is the open world's visuals. The combat is boring by level 15-20. And everything else is very mediocre and repetitive.
“please give us a cash shop”
Same thing with Destiny. I left after that.
TBF for the ff14 cash shop, that was an agreement between yoshi p and the suits, they gave yoshi p the freedom he has, at the cost of a cash shop, that he has no control over, anything that the cash shop does, is not on yoshi p.
In fact, as another comment has mentioned, there is a woman who runs the cash shop side, they call the "mog station baroness", even yoshi p is scared of her.
It sucks we have it, but if it means yoshi p can devolp the game as he pleases with little to no corporate over rule, then i guess I'll settle with a cash shop being there, as scummy as it can be somtimes.
And this is why video games will keep getting worse, until gamers actually grow a spine.
when I played Genshin and had the CN censorship costumes, I kinda realized that I'm okay with censorship if they were smart about designing the censored parts where I liked the censored costume even more due to the added details, I kinda wish that companies at least get that in their mind when censoring though Blue Protocol is already dead to me because of the region lock.
But they also put a blue fart cloud on the characters when you go swimming because I guess it's ok to see their already covered butts when climbing but not swimming
@@the7blargs I just really wish these things could be toggled on and off without having to use mods when it shouldn't even exist on places that does not enforce this types of censoring
What pisses me off about FFXIV is that you pay to get the launcher on steam and then if you don't pay the recurring payment, you can't play it. I'm not just talking about the expansion areas, I'm talking about the entire game itself.
Well yeah that's normal for a subscription game
typical mmo bullshit
XIV putting things on the cash shop that were previously purchasable via Gil isn't ideal, but I wouldn't go as far as to call it "scummy" because XIV is still pretty fair compared to their competition.
"It isn't scummy that someone stole your TV and is trying to sell it back to you! At least they aren't burning your house down!"
@@Sin_Alder That analogy isn't even remotely comparable and I'm not actually disagreeing with Kirsche. Turn down the hyperbole in the future so you don't come off as an idiot to other people.
Censoring Blue Protocol is exactly why people no longer talk about Blue Protocol. The only "Blue" game people care about is Blue Archive.
the only thing "blue" after the censorship is my balls
Lots of things used to be free, or the very least, earnable in game. Nowadays, the things that are _already_ in your hard drive have a price tag.
cheat code number today is: credit card number
@@wahtari8653wasn’t there a game a few years ago that was selling things previously available as cheats?
Luckily, there are more than enough old games to last you a lifetime.
No need to bother with any of this trash.
Censoring TUMMIES??? wtf
Yugioh does it on some cards.
You thought it was a coincidence that feminists were pushing burka acceptance?
and adding granny panties
As someone who only joined FF14 in the last few years, I always wondered why I had to buy older rewards, and this is how I learn morons asked for it.
I was extremely confused when I first came into 14 because of that since from my experience in 11 I can somewhat safely say SE would have released almost everything that’s in the cash shop on their own for free completely unprompted if idiots hadn’t begged for a cash shop.
@@Khajitxi No they wouldn't have... Because exclusivity of participation in the event that unlocks them.
There are events that allow you to get the items in the cash shop for free as well.. but you have to do the event. That's the whole point. The cash shop is for the lazy people.... in otherwords fishing or the same whales that donate to Vtubers.... you know, the same people that give Kirsche money..
@@Exile_Sky No, not only does SE bring the events back regularly, they also outright give entirely new lv 1 glamour gear away AND have some other options occasionally. The entire Cash Shop itself is filled with stuff everyone would be able to get for free because even a game SE wants to shut down is still spitting out new glam with a skeleton crew, so the cash cow keeping SE afloat that’s technically in the same department would probably have done that.
@@Exile_Skysounds more like exploiting people with fomo to me.
@@darksuns7384 Fomo.. you mean narcissism?
If you don't want it don't buy it. If you REALLY want it but don't want to wait for the event, buy it. If you don't want to buy it, but want it, join up when the event is active, they announce them. Yes even the exclusive ones and loudly. If you miss the event, that often takes up to 1 evening of playing and goes on for up to 2 weeks sometimes, that's on you. Not on SE. Stop blaming companies for people making decisions and then regretting those decisions. Live with your choices.
There's so many other legitimate things to screech about with SE. The FFXIV cash shop is not one of them.
Especially when the biggest gripe the spicy cat had (that they removed to prior in game purchasing ability) is wrong as far as I recall. They just moved the NPCs. "Omg the game company is giving me the **option** to throw more money at them! WAAAH, its so evil!" meanwhile allowing people to throw money at you. This is all I heard from her and its just a dumb take. Especially coming from a vtuber.
Wasn't Blue protocol already dead in Asia?
If the global version is censored it's just gonna die faster
Midriff is gone because the Sharif don’t like it….
Do the korsche, Do the korsche
I played ffxiv early on, then left for years and came back. I thought I just imagined this feature being there before! Only item I bought from an old even was broomstick mount, cause, I needed it for aesthetic. Black mage, witch on a broomstick.
Having played 14 since 2.1 I remember at the first fan fest when Yoshi p came out announcing the cash shop. Most of the good will is from him promising all the proceeds is gonna go towards development of the game
sells game with s3x appeal
people buy game with s3x appeal
games doesnt have the s3x appeal
peepo mad??????must be soem kind of ism
The worst case of consuumerism has to be destiny 2. Only that do people think its normal to pay seperately for season pass, dungeons, gear access and expansions at the same time. Not counting the cash shop and a regarded coloring system.
Honestly, I don't get why events have to end in the first place. It'd be sweet if you could go to an NPC, load up a past event, quests and decorations all, and do it wherever it strikes your fancy. I guess it's a player retention thing, but I've always hated fomo stuff.
The events and the consequent fomo is exhausting as hell. It's like the game is saying "play the game, or else.".
I quit playing FGO events simply because FUCK grinding. It's the same shit every event and the event story is either boring or complete garbage.
Sigh, I wish they released the next chapter already.
I heard about you getting blacklisted from a shitty con in Cali for your based opinions on wokeness and DEI. Take my sub and have a fantastic day
Aside from all this talk of the cash shop in these games, this is really just making me wish for a Korsche Gacha game. Imagine all the variations of fluffy and murderous Korsches that could be made. Not sure how the rest of the game would work, but that idea makes me smile. Thanks for the clip Kirsche.
Also this is the third comment I had to leave. UA-cam does not seem to like the idea of Korsches that are able to defend themselves, as I used a variation of "well equipped with weapons". I will remember this.
Streamers intentionally do this for the purposes of maintaining a sense of elitism, it’s the overall idea that it is their “job” to play the game and decide how it goes. this is why when you look at games on twitch that are largely monopolize by streamers at the end of the day what occurs is the game is catered towards the streamers resulting in content becoming hyper longform tedious, grind instead of designed for average person who works for a living instead of a person who literally is chronically online.
Not to mention, a lot of in game things get nerfed because they are telling people what builds they have and what to do.
This shit has been in games longer than livestreaming. It's a grind to get people to pay to skip it. Simple as.
Or they're just plain greedy and want you to pay to relieve the inconvenience they _purposely_ engineered into the game.
Girls Frontline is very F2P friendly and their successive updates only made it more F2P friendly. I only stopped playing the game because the story seemed like it was going nowhere and was making me mad with how much focus Angelina was getting. Wanted my Cinnamon Bun M4A1 back
I'm not a V-tuber guy, but i'm going to sub to you Kirsche. I saw you on Sidescrollers and you came off as incredibly based and awesome. Anyone who gets banned from something out of California is probably doing most things right in their life. I salute you, lady.
Bandai made a promise to be politically correct in a press release, but then works with Amazon on censored protocol.
Where does Amazon's "Washington State of Mind" end and Bandai's wokeness begin?
6:56 I don't know when you were playing, but no not all the stuff from the events were in the NPC.. That's just wrong and was a frustration of mine for the few events I did miss. There are always exclusive items that you can only get from playing the event. Some items you just flat out can't get, no not even when the season rolls around and the next years event comes in. Also last I checked, they didn't get rid of the NPC that sells those items, they moved them.
Granted I think the Cash shop is dumb too, but then again, they're just fishing for the same people that give YOU money. Tell me I'm wrong. Go ahead. Tell me how the way you make your living is a fucking scam.
Why do I have a feeling she may be behind the helldiver situation I have a feeling she's going to bring it up maybe the power of the vtuber community and gamer community is scary thank you guys for fighting the good fight.
I get so many short gacha adds with shill youtubers pulling characters saying "this is so fun" or "wow i got so many gold characters this game is so generous!!!".
I seriously hate those youtubers.
I have a constant love hate relationship with FFXIV, but the cash shop has slowly become the one thing I hate the most. Most other complaints are self inflicted as I choose to do the content. For real though, we get a lot of good stuff in FFXIV but some achievements people put themselves through are no rewarded at ALL. You spend months of your life grinding on S ranks? Heres a shitty pug mount. Oh btw we just put a cute dog mount with animations in the mogstation. Oh you just spent months crafting and gathering to finish the ishgard restoration? Heres a mid as fuck dinosaur with nothing special. Oh btw we just put a REALLY REALLY COOL MOON MOUNT in the cash shop. There is so many example but its depressing man. There are cool and good mounts in game but all the ones you gotta work hard for suck booty for the most part.
They just reaching for attention at this point…
I got no clue what the companies THINK they are calculating with stuff like this.
10:54 as a GFL player, I can confirm that GFL is very F2P friendly, all the characters themselves are unlocked trough "fabrication", which is a gacha that uses in game resources that are extremely easy to get. The real money gacha is just for skins and furniture for your dorms.
The other gacha game from the same devs (Project Neural Cloud) also is pretty F2P friendly but it has a more conventional gacha.
Also NIKKE is incredibly generous too, most paid stuff is skins but that’s it
Cant wait for live tabs!
Is the censor protocol responsible for the Skull Girl censor wave?
The SkullGirls censorship fiasco is because some members of the team ousted the original creators and want to be seen as clean as possible because the current team is very progressive.
Nah that was because the devs thought they could revitalize interest if they ousted their old lead and censored the game. technicals and shortfatotaku both have some extensive videos on the whole situation.
As a 14 player, the only thing that should've been in the cash shop is npc gear. Aymerics was fineish, it would be fine I guess if Zenos' endwalker fit was there, but i still think that any event stuff should remain event, like Clives stuff should be just in the game, theres no reason the event shouldn't just stay, but I know it'll end up on the cash shop eventually and i dont think it should,
can you imagine coming in and having 15 different quest lines for a single event, pretty overwhelming. besides the event items are far less egregious than their competitors and it fall under the reign of the Mogstation Baroness. its a comfortable middle ground.
Funny how in genshin they had censored a few characters but it was just a free outfit between original and censored you can switch any time
The character designs are made to be very tame though. I'm still waiting for a Korean or Japanese genshin clone
You can switch outfits only when you play as this character. Censored outfits were made a default option so when these characters appear as NPCs you will always see them censored. Also in chinese version uncensored outfits are not available at all. So censored outfits are "half-forced" in EN version and are the only option in CN version.
...And in their new game, Zenless Zone Zero, they just censored some characters and gore in some cutscene in all regions, no exceptions. Chinese censorship for all regions.
@@VillainViranJapanese Genshin clone would be a dream come true.
Hopefully we get something like that to Playstation in the future.
@@zapan9643 If it's on playstation I automatically don't trust it hasn't been tampered with lol
Girl you are an absolute treasure.
I only spent money on in-game cosmetics in Borderlands 2 and I still regret it a little bit. Least they were dirt cheap.
I didn’t even know you could buy cosmetics in Borderlands 2. Goes to show how good that game was lol. All of the cool skins were free.
Similarly, I only ever spent money on in-game cosmetics in a CoD game (think it was Black Ops 2, or at least in that era). It was for a couple weapon camos that were like $1 each. I still regret it a little bit, too, especially considering what it lead to.
Censorship. The old nemesis of western gamers.
It’s not about the cooking it’s about how insulting it is for 1950s American products expecting more maturity and intelligence from Americans than current day.
dude calling yoshi-p scummy is WILD
The p stands for plagiarism.
If you mean wildly accurate, you would be correct.
Swear, it's like it's XIV fans live for any opportunity to guzzle XIV and yoshi-p's loads.
@FF8IrvineFan how can one leave if they never arrived.
in a world where sex sells in every form of media, and advertising, why they decide to act like catholic nuns and cover up the tiniest bit of cleavage when it comes to video games, makes absolutely no sense.
I think genshin did something similar but just added less revealing outfits as an option you could switch to.
Why is it so funny when you yell? 😂
and as a female who likes females, STOP CENSORING MY FEMALE GAME CHARACTERS!!!
it doesnt make sense at all why people would want free items to be exclusive to cash shop
then it hit me, these idiots with more money than common sense and the patience of a grapefruit
asked for it so they didnt have to wait however long for the event to come back around to grab it
words to live by "never give in to the desires of immediate gratification, for it only breeds more of itself"
9:43 sky children of the light does really good at being free. They only charge for cosmetics.
no matter how much it hurts abide zero censorship ive refused to buy stellar blade when it censored and ill do it with blue protocoll as well.
The "already have your money" thing is kinda weird tho, considering A: we're seeing it ahead of time and B: aren't Lost Ark and Blue Protocol f2p?
10:57 Can confirm GFL is free to play friendly. You can get by the story without paying and unlock most items save exclusive outfits without paying
"pay for convience" is still "pay to win" imo
Did you hear that old Aeon has been brought back!
I was debating trying blue protocol, but after this and looking in to it's reception in japan it looks like a hard pass
I was looking forward to Blue Protocol till they started censoring stuff.
Yeah, that's why I gave up on it some time last year
Thank you god, for me to born in Asia
this year's theme is false advertisement
the source vod is from last year
Cash is good. Censorship bad.
No tummy ... NO TUMMY!?!?!?
FF14 is also a subscription game, it shouldn’t have a cash shop in the first place, let alone remove event outfits and put them in the cash shop. But yeah ff14 players will defend anything.
The taint of the Square HR department continues
The general case with FFXIV is that it would be far worse if it weren't for the agreement between Yoshi-P and the other suits on the Board of Directors. There is a woman he calls the "Mog-Station Baroness", and the stuff they sell on the mog-station is what gives the devs so much freedom otherwise. If Yoshi-P weren't there, Squeenix would be nickel and diming you hardcore.
People just like to use XIV as their default whataboutisms, because they cant honestly defend one companies blatant greed so they point at XIV and point accusingly "but whatabout..."
That's the important detail, I think. Yes, the Mogstation does happen to have cosmetic outfits... but the game does go out of its way to add far more ones you can just acquire ingame instead through time, effort, and/or gil. It really feels like it's a very careful balance between "the game is demanded to bring in more money so something has to be done" and "we really, really want the player experience to be as good as possible in this regard." I may still have not the best vibe on specific cosmetics being in the cash shop only, but... it really feels like it takes up a small enough part of the game's experience that it really doesn't strike me as a hugely significant part of my experience in the game itself. All the past year event rewards in the mogstation instead of gil is a bit sad? But... I don't know. It's a lot better than what I'd expect out of corporate meddling, because that's what it is. It's corporate meddling where we have just one or a small number of people really doing their best to keep it under control.

I love this internet wamen
I have a special black unit 🗿
So i dont get there only censoring like the clothing that shows a little stomach
Thanks for the chuckles my lovely - a BIG kiss from the UK.
Meanwhile in goddess of victory Nikke, shift up put a skin on season pass for their new character Crown that is basically her naked with only a button shirt, and beams of light covering the naughty bits.
event items in FF11 almost always came back every year and were always free. but somehow FF14, a bigger game, needs a cash shop. for some reason their user base can't stop sucking the dev team balls deep without gagging
You know it's bad when the only thing SE had to do to be better than their competition (WoW) is to apologize when they mess up but still, not fix the problem.
Nice to see SOMEONE willing to call out FF14.
I mean, it isn't the worst MMO on the market by any means, but that bar is so low that it's resting in the Earth's core.
Just don't go to the cash shop.
It's not like it's convenient
I have a huge problem with Yoshi P. He made WoW but it looks like Final Fantasy. Also SE made 11 as bad as 14 with the gear grind because of that douche. He ruined both games.
Lol gear grind?
There is virtually no gear grind
One of the many reasons I hate XIV now, the overuse of the cash shop to make more money on the game. Its now just a hamster wheel that trys to milk more money, it just isnt fun anymore every job feels samey and you cant even customize mechanically just cosmetically and you can hardly do that without spending money.
You don't have to spend a dime on cosmetics.
@@captainpositivenegro2854 you also dont have to make cosmetics purchasable, the entire game is about customizing your characters cosmetics, crafted gear is cosmetic, rare drops are cosmetic, event items are cosmetic. I guess part of the game is f2p now (if you are new) but it just sucks to me people are willing to pay additional money on a subscription game. It used to not be like this. The unquieness and reward of some of these are gone now as they are cash shop items now.
honestly it is not as bad as world of warcraft
