Hey guys, thanks for watching the video. However, if you can, make sure you're here next week, July 15th at 5pm, since I'll be premiering the HG/SS Professor Oak's Challenge, literally the thing I'm sure 90% of you are subscribed for, so stay tuned!
You could retry E4 with Ludicolo on the team. It can learn ice moves to help with Drake. It has swift swim and isn't super affected by ice, so it should help with Glacia too.
Emerald Kaizo is basically how it’d be if pokemon were real: extremely diverse populations of Pokémon everywhere you go, and everyone you meet actually knows how to fight and trains actually good Pokémon.
No only would it be a fun watch, but very informative for team building. Miss playing emerald kaizo, Heart gold hardcore nuzlock is still too easy, and that's all I have to play.
3:25 I think aside expanding the teams with Pokemon that can counter grass types (which are SE in a rock gym), Yanma actually fits the fossil theme of the Rustboro City (you revive them here and in remakes Roxanne's gym is full of those as well). It a Pokemon that evolves through Ancientpower (traditionally fossil related move) and the name for both Yanma and Yanmega are based on prehistoric dragonflies. I feel like if we would use other type mons - this one is great choice.
Love your content, and I really appreciate the effort you put into them. Also really like that you upload "failed" runs; it makes it more exciting to watch content if you don't know beforehand if the challenges are de facto beatable. Only thing I would suggest it matching the audio with the footage. Otherwise: great stuff! Keep up the excellent work
Someone has done a mono grass run of emerald kaizo so it should be doable. I recall Ludicolo was pretty important, and I think they also used an explosion Shiftry.
It really is incredible for supporting a team, its biggest problem was just not being able to sweep everything in Gen 2 like typhlosion and feraligatr. Still one of my favorite starters
Nice try! Ludicolo is ok vs the Dragons, and it gets good Rain abilities for the Ice types. Also Cradily can use Recover and rock slide so you can outlast the Latis and Kingdra.
I can’t wait to see that POC vid. I wouldn’t be surprised if it premiered with 1K people working 10 minutes of the notification. Thanks for the content Meatball!
Now this is what a pokemon game should be. Normal mode then Challenge mode. Not like black / white 2 it. Massive jump in levels no items in battle and some crazy pokemon teams to face. Lately iv been replaying my old platinum but making it i cant use items at all unless a held item plus limiting myself to 4 mons
Other than people having legendaries, this seems much closer to what living in the Pokemon world would probably be like as opposed to everyone having teams like 3 Pidgeys
Hey, I think a monolocke or play through in diamond [NOT PLATINUM] would be a good thing. I’ve been looking for one but no one I know has been doing one- thanks!
I did an easier Drayano Hack of gen 5 with all grass types using the same game rules you did. And the elite four champion had all dragon types in the mid level 80's and the only way I was able to win was to use the grass types that knew weather ball (AKA Roserade & Victreebell) in Hail which required a Ludicolo (& weirdly Roserade) to set it up. Even then other suppport moved like Tailwind, Sleep Powder & Stat buff moves were needed just to survive long enough to get some lucky RNG. Grass Pokemon can be really strong but they have so many type weaknesses that make it difficult. Anyways sorry you couldn't win but thanks for using my fav type! Great Vid
if youre looking for more emerald kaizo content pokemonchallenges on twitch is currently hardcore nuzlocking it. hardcore meaning no overlevelling the next gym leader and no item use in battle
Reflect and light screen goes a very long way. Meganium can do both. Got issues doing damage but you are perfectly capable of tanking? Poison them. Leech seeds. SOMETHING other than trying to win with brute force like Sword and Shield's first gym.
The last gimn leader has pokemon water and the champion too, oh and also Kyogre and Groudon are weak to grass, I think you can, you have Cradily, Cacturne , Sceptile , Ludicolo , Breelom , Tropius , 3rd gen was a great gen for grass types
I did a normal emerald playthrough a couple years back and I did Grass types only (Sceptyle, Cacturne, Breloom, Tropius, Vileplume and Cradily) and it was frustrating, very frustrating. Too many water Pokémon with ice type moves
23:11 I thinks he’s cheating. You can see in the top left that a guy walked into a tree which from my experience only happens when walk through walls is enabled. I may be wrong but what do you guys think?
I actually didn't even catch that until the premiere, I think it was just something with the map data, since I've seen a fair share of those types of glitches in ROM hacks.
The biggest reason I can’t wait to see HGSS is so people will shut up in the comments on every video when it’s gonna he here. Other than that just wanna see something impressive get taken down!
17:30 very curious that all of your pokemon have 0 current XP... its almost as of you’ve simply used rare candies to level up instead of grinding...🤨🧐🧐
He was allowed to use items outside of battle. Think he just grinded like 14lvls for 6 pokemon and finished with a rare candy. Grinding sucks give him some slack
My friends and I are currently doing a monotype run of grass type in emerald, with the same no items rule. Its pretty fun. Except that we can't use starters. I still wanna know how I can do a recording without any overlap because I'm currently using an emulator
I beat Pokemon Sapphire yesterday with only gen 3 grass types. The elite four on Sapphire was actually not that bad. I used sky uppercut against the dark type elite four. I used faint attack to beat the ghost type elite four. I used sky uppercut, iron tail/steel wing and grass type moves against the ice type elite four. I used ice beam and dragon claw against the dragon type elite four. I leveled up all my pokemon to level 50 before the elite four. Champion Steven was not bad, the only problem was the steel flying type. I used confuse ray and leachseed to slowly bring it down with added ice beams. The other Pokemon in Stevens team where easy to bring down. Metagross missed 2 meteor mash attacks which helped. Claydol used earthquake nonstop agaisnt Ludicolo which does little damage to me. I used revives and hyper potions to make sure I didn't lose. Aggron was one shot with a surf lol. That's how I became champion hahaha. It was a fun little challenge, it made the game more interesting. The grass type starter's speed is insanely high 157 at level 52. That speed made the challenge much more playable.
When you beat the first grunt in Gen 3, you get a free heal dont you? Like the guy doesnt say anything, but if you check after you win, I'm pretty sure your HP and PP will be full
you get a free heal in vanilla emerald, but I've never played kaizo before, so they might have taken out the heal to make petalburg forest 'harder' but that seems useless to me
@chaoticmeatball can you tell me where you found the move tutor in the mauville pokemon center? I cannot seem to find anything regarding a move tutor in my rom. Thanks!
@@ChaoticMeatballTV I either have an older version or a hardcore ass version. My movesets are terrible compared to yours and my encounter rates are very low as well. Thanks for confirming! There was no tutor at the table for me :c
Let me say that I tried to beat Watson with only a Crawdaunt and Kirlia (which I didn't evolve for some reason idk) which are 30 levels above Watson's pokémons

Weather control is disabled in this hack, but i agree that he could replace one member of his team with Ludicolo.
@@mitsouqc wouldnt help since ludicolo is just way to slow without rain anyways and can only take like 2 hits maximum.

Cacturne is one of the coolest pokemon of this whole gen. AMAZING. Simple and clean design.

Doing a Professor Oaks challenge would be unbearable

How does drake have latios if tate and liza had it? Its a legendary so there should only be one.
Chikorita has always been my number 1 pokemon so to see Meganium used so much in a game I never got it in is satisfaction on a level I cannot express
