Chuck was my neighbor in Tulsa when I was a boy. I used to sneak a look through the wood knot holes in the fence now and then. One time I think he was roasting nuts on a bbq, I don't know how he spotted my little eye through the hole so far away but he gave me a quick wink and I knew the game was up!! On my 9th birthday I was with my father at the 'Duke of Kensington', a bar that he had just opened in Tulsa. Standing with my dad, at the bar, Charlie walked in and greeted Tudor (Dad), who was his close friend and myself. When dad said it was my birthday Charlie seemed a little put out, having not bought a gift which I thought peculiar as he had no need to do so and no knowledge of my birth date? Without a moments hesitation he undid the buckle of the belt around his waist, wrapped the leather around it and placed it onto the bar in front of me saying "Happy birthday Nath. I have worn the Indian Head-coin Buckle now for over 30 years and would love to hear from and meet with any of his family or friends. My love. Nathan Tudor Williams. Nathantudor@hotmail.co.uk

I'm Comanche & this is my grandpa. I was too young to know that the whole world knew him. He made an impact on my life and I realize he is a true hero. My hero.

Absolutely divine and so spiritual, love learning from our elders, so much wisdom and life experience. Please restore their lands that were agreed under the treaties and respect and honour their way of life. They are the true patriots .

In July of 2005 my Mother had set aside for me to read, along with many other articles, the obituary of this man. I just got around to reading about the use of Mr. Chibitty and other Comanche men as code talkers. I`d, of course, heard of the Navajo men being used in that war but had no idea that men from other tribes were employed, as well. It`s been fascinating to read about Mr. Chibitty and his associates and their success in Europe.
