Sir I thank you for the kind words on my art! -Bob E....hard to believe I did these 33 years ago!
Hey man those paintings are DOPE!! LOVE. THEM.
Mr. Eggleton, this series art is fantastic. Many thanks for such great work.
As a teenager this cover on the bookshelf was haunting and compelling and a true eye catching piece of work. It compliments the written words inside to make a fun read.
Your art for those books are forever burned into the memories of any fan of Lumley's work. Fantastic stuff
I've always loved the amazing artwork on the necroscope covers. I never knew who did them until today.
I have read and reread this series so many times and I am always disappointed that so few people have read them. I'm forever recommending them to my fellow readers.
Ya. At some point I gotta get the rest of the series
If you read Necroscope, make sure to commit to the first 3 books. Book 3 expands the mythos in such an awesome way. It makes the series the legend that it is.
Best vampires origins. Read all 5 of the Main series. The brothers stuff. Lost years and everything. Even the Jake trilogy.
Oh, cool side note. Metal band called “Epoch of Unlight” has some Necroscope inspired albums and songs. Good stuff
Is the band any good?
Did you even read the book mate? The Russians weren't breeding vampires, and it's pronounced DragoSANI not Dragonasi. Other than that your enthusiasm for the artwork and Brian's writing is great. And definitely agree that Brian's vampires are the "most badass ever"!
Lol ikr?
He also said Harry Keogh is the antagonist and I think he knows he meant protagonist. Sometimes people miss vital details when the read books. I had to read certain parts over again to grasp what was going on at times. As for the breeding vampires bit, that might have been a line or two from the third book that he thought happened in the first. Give him a break, he loves these books like most of us and he's very excited talking about them. I'm just glad he's talking about this series. 🤷♂
Pretty sure I acknowledged and agreed with his enthusiasm and it IS great that these books are still being talked about. Only criticism I brought up was the fundamental mistakes that were made in the review which imho, are kinda important if you're gonna go on public record with your review.
@@Dundeemac799 Yeah, that's fair
Cool to see Brian Lumley get some love on book tube. One of my favorites!
I love that you reviewed this book. I read the first 5 books about 25 years ago and loved them but they seemed to have been largely forgotten. I've also been rereading them a book a month to try and finish the series this year.
Let's bring Necroscope to the big screen. Let's go....
Morgan Freeman purchased the rights to do a screen series of Necroscope. Fingerss crossed.
@@camse7en Thats awesome news. This will be epic.
can NEVER view vampires the same after reading all things Necroscope.
please do yourself a solid and continue the series. PLEASE!...if time is an issue, i'm proud to say they have just now been released in UNABRIDGED AUDIOBOOK formats, and the narrations are EPIC!....especially those performed by Joshua Saxon.
I just bought the next 3 in the series. So now I have 8
Love the enthusiasm! Always great to see Brian Lumley and the Necroscope series getting the love they so desperately deserve! As many people have stated, The Vampire Worlds trilogy expands greatly on the mythos of the Wamphyri. You'd be doing yourself a great disservice to miss out on them :) As the Travellers of Sunside would say, Tear down the mountains!
Just to clarify, it's Dragosani, not Dragonasi.....sorry to be that guy :D
Great vid today! I'd be lying if I said I wasn't waiting for this review. This is my favorite vampire series. Also, strongly recommend the next trilogy starting with Bood Brothers as it expands on the arcs created in book 3- The Source. If you think you've seen badass vampires already, you ain't seen nothin yet (b-b-baby). Keep up the good work, Sir!
Ya I gotta get the rest of the books...eventually
Yes the Blood Brothers trilogy is off the chain. I need to re-read those first 8 Necroscope novels again.
I have seen these books back in my 20s and I have wondered about them and I'm glad you made a review of them. I might need to check out the first one.

Just scored the same book for 10 cents at a library sale today. Can’t wait to read it. Love the cover art!
I used to see these books in the store but never gave it a try. This sounds very interesting.
Sounds fucking awesome
Just finished this book.was amazing. A perfect book for me espionage amd horror.looling forward to read the next one. Once again great review
Yes! Brian Lumley. Best Vampire series ever. Shame on you 4 not finishing the Series of Necroscope.
You've missed some of the best books.
Nothing tops Salems Lot according to Brian.
@@Ytnzy250 not even close. IMO. Salem's Lot is well written, but an average, ordinary Vampire novel. The farther, or more books you get into Necroscope. The more you realize they are far from ordinary. Also the most original Vampire ever written. Hell I reread the series every year. I even got a song I'm working on from the Blood Brothers book from the Series.
I could give a list of books, and movies that have been lifted from this series that people like , and don't even know.
@@jamesfetcho6315 Guillermo Del Toro's "The Strain" TV show reminded me of this series Vamps. Nowhere near as good, but the idea,to me at least, was lifted straight out of Necroscope.
@@drezonb9546 I can see it👍
Your content is off the hook at the minute big Bri. Keeping me very entertained. Thanks!
Thanks!!
Keogh is pronounced the same as "yo", but with a k in front, it's Irish so that's why the spelling's weird.
Wow this sounds like the best book ever!
If you haven't read her yet, L.A. Banks, God rest her soul, wrote a 13 book vampire series starting with the book Minions that will keep your interest peaked!!! VERY good series!!
Best vampire books ever been trying to get my gf into them but she’s been fighting me haha
Hey Brian, loving the videos. Just bought a bundle of Louise Lamour novels because of you! Cheers!
Great. I hope u like them
I remember all those books. I remember all the excellent covers for books and horror comics of my childhood.
literally just got the first book (audible AND kindle version (to read when i cant listen haha) ) today and finished chapter 2 hah, im sold. And i know im barely scratching the surface haha
You should totally read the next one. Blood brothers is onee of my favorites!
Ive been wanting to read these books for years and by that I mean since 1986. lol Finally finished book I a couple hours ago and was so pleased with what it was I experienced. Just delving into Book II now.
Super
HA!
"I'll name drop like a mother fucker!"
Love that energy.
This is my favorite book series. Read them all more times than I can remember. Also read Lumley's Dreamland series, his lovecraft stuff, shorts and other novels. He's an excellent Author.
Also for any potential readers. The contrasts and differences between what a Necroscope is vs. a Necromancer in these book are so expertly crafted and defined.
Highly recommend this series ( in its entirety, not just the first 5 ). There simply doesn't exist a Vampire anywhere close to holding a candle to this series Wamphiri, anywhere else in fiction. The series gets so much bigger and more enthralling than the first, incredible novel.
Can't recommend these books more enthusiastically.
Happy reading!
Great comments
1980s horror?
sign me up
Read the first book waiting for my plots to get done in college. Great book
Spoiler Alert: That painting is DOPE!
U must always shout the word DOPE when using it in a sentence
Need to read the lost years they occur during the first five books
I feel like The Strain tv show borrowed quite a bit from Brian Lumley's books.
Awesome reviews every time. DOPE
DUUUUDE you need to read that Vampire World trilogy book 6, 7, & 8
Great review!
Yeah I never knew how to pronounce Harry's last name either.
'Ko'. Irish names are hard.
It's weird. I read all of the first 5 books but for some reason I only remember the covers of the first two.
I remember the Necroscope series. Read the first few then got bored with them and gave up.
Great!
Hi Brian, it’s pronounced Key Oh. I have some friends with the same surname and that’s how they pronounce it
You are missing out by not getting into the next books it's really cool some of the things that happens when the whampires come over
Ron L Hubbard writers of the future?
Are you going to actually mention that Harry Keogh is British and the "good guys" are all based in Britain?
Dope dude. Dope.
80s were the best!!!
Oh and it's pronounced kee-oh the G is silent
There's no ee sound either, it rhymes with yo, just with the added K, it's an Irish name so the letters don't exactly map onto English
@@pietzsche well I know a number of keogh's in England and that's how it's pronounced. The character is in England so there you go.
@@daveedmunds1109 Cool you can reunite them with the proper pronunciation now.
@@pietzsche ooooh calm yourself darling
@@daveedmunds1109 Someone says cool and you think they're not calm? Weird
Amazing how when you made this vid only a year ago the Cold War was seen as dated…and now it’s back on…
Great series of books. Not for children or teens in my opinion. They stand out as the standard of horror novels.
Not original cover
