I think it's fair to say, the loss against Mexico had the right affect on the team.
Sometimes, for some teams, it's right to lose when you don't deserve the win and it's better for you, because you can't come and play in the final against Brazil the way you played against Mexico.
As a Coach, I rather lose that Mexico Match and win the Cup.
But, the USWNT is good enough to beat Mexico and go on to win the final.
Coach Twila is good for the USWNT at this stage for this group.
The US went down a bit in Women's Soccer and the Rest of the world went up, but this doesn't mean the USWNT can't still dominate.
You just can't be giving the opponents more chances than they deserve, as happened against Mexico. We under estimated the Mexican team, no question about that.

This was a really important win for a team that is in transition and has so many new players. They are still forming a cohesive sense of each other and identity as a unit. I am really proud of them and absolutely can’t wait to see where the team goes with Emma and Twila!

Honestly? I wasn't impressed. Good that they took care of business in the end, but there were no top ranked teams on the way and yet they struggled. Defenders made some awful mistakes in the first half.
That was just a whatever game. And if it wasn't raining Wednesday night Canada might have beat them..

If I could have, should have, or would have? If the USWNT would have made a couple of PK’s during the 2023 World Cup something else would have happened as well. I don’t disagree that playing Canada in a SWAMP wasn’t ideal by any means. However, both teams were on the field at the same time and had to deal with that very disgraceful situation. Winners win and losers lose. It’s just that simple.
@@beachliving3127 we can discredit the tournament officials for letting that game go on Wednesday night. And I think the only reason the game went on is because of all the money they're paying for that stadium to have the tournament. And they didn't want to have to reschedule that game and spend money
