Considering the evangelical witness they offered ,in believing that Jesus is the is the Resurrection and the Life,Pope Francis has decreed that 29th July be designated in the General Roman Calendar as the Memorial of Saints Msrtha , Mary and Lazarus. This unique and blessed friendship between Lord Jesus and three siblings, is an intimate, good and clean friendship built on a rock foundation with total trust. Value of friendship was deep and concrete, prevailed above all turmoil of life, envy of people around, death of Lazarus, finally, Lord Jesus' sacrifice on the Cross. This godly, selfless, good and clean friendship between Priest(Jesus)& Lay, is an example for today and till the end. Martha and Mary both equally loved Jesus. Both of them wanted to please Him by their own unique way. But what was the difference, why Martha was upset and Lord Jesus appreciated Marys' role! Simple, Marth "Planned the Work" (of her choice) for Jesus and Mary "Worked the Plan" ( of Lord Jesus choice) for a divine & deeper relationship. When we serve God - "WORK the PLAN" of God's Will and not "PLAN the WORK" of self will. Thank you Fr., for beautifully putting across, bond of sibblings and a true and lasting friendship.
