FASCINATING FUN FACT : Emily the G N R Stirling Single 4-4-2 steam-driven railway tender locomotive from Thomas & Friends certainly happens to actually be completely based on this official steam-driven railway tender locomotive!!!!
Hi Tom. Brilliant video, the locomotive looks and sounds lovely, and runs very well considering the gradient there. Brilliant railway, not been there for a number of years but hoping to go there when I get my Holmside back in steam. Thanks for uploading. Andy G.
Thanks, yes, it’s not an easy gradient, and there were a couple of spots where you really don’t want to be caught going slow or stopping, but a really nice railway to get out first run with the loco.
That's one of the most beautiful 7 1/4" engines I've ever seen.
lovely to see the 7 1/4" Stirling and running so well. The sound of the engine is just amazing !!!
What a BEAUTIFUL model.
Delightful footage, Tom. What a beautiful railway! Love the sound of the Stirling.

Wow! She really wants to fly, that one. Very nice.
Nice vid,love N°1.
Thanks.
She covers some ground in one revolution of that driver.
Lovely beat to that sterling excellent footage 👍
Yes it does sound good, and thanks. 👍
Another beautiful model It looks to run very well. Not much slipping pulling away either.
Lovley loco not seen one in 7 1/4 yet 👍
Hey may I please ask what drawings where used to build the loco and where the castings for it were acquired?
As far as I know there are no commercial drawings and castings available, I may be wrong though.
@@TomsWorkshop42 yeh I have seen none for 7 1/4 only for 5 inch.
The first loco dad built was a 5” one which is one reason for buying this when it was available.
@@TomsWorkshop42 Ah that makes sense, it is a very nice loco
