"The geezer paid quite a lot to get his kitchen done"..... But I won't bother covering his worktop over before obliterating it with shards of tiles 😂
😂 thought that myself put a towel down or something fs.
I turned up to a job just to install a cooker hob only to be met by a cooker switch directly behind the hob + cooker hood FCU. Builder did it say no more. Anyway I became a tiler for a day after re wire.
These types of jobs are horrendous to sort out. Pleased the home owner was OK with knocking the tiles off. Good job Delroy.
Thanks for watching.
Good video Delroy, that's my old stomping ground Arbour Square, Stepney!
For removing tiles I highly recommend a multitool.
I'd also recommend those personalised mats that you can put on worktops etc. to save damaging the customers worktops.
Don't you love builders doing bodge jobs!
Hi Dean. Hope you are well. Thanks for watching.
Good idea to have a look at the neighbours place. Looks like a pain of a job, well done Delroy 💪
Hi Jack thanks for watching. That's something I've done over the years it's helped me out many times. In blocks of flats, the layout is usually the same if you can find a flat that hasn't been renovated it helps.
Clean job delroy
seen it happen lots of times from "professional" kitchen fitters! I even witnessed one sparky using ( i sh*t you not ) a doctors perscription note ( you know, the green things ) to cover an old socket back box, still with live cables, and then tile over the top!
Hi Ian. Thanks for watching. Tiling over electrical points is common I come across it all the time.
Delroy please consider using cable finder and reflectometer (TDR time domain reflectometer) similar to what we use here in the EU. Please get familiar with Finder and reflectometer concept based on market leading Sonel WMPLLKZ720, and Sonel WMPLTDR420 units. You can then decide if something similar would do the job also in your use-case. Tools can be expensive, some customers would not allow your demolition only to know where do the cables go.
how much are these units?
@@JayG2K From 550 GDP for WMPLLKZ720, and 950 GDP for WMPLTDR420 . You can purchase similar devices from any other manufacturer, unfortunatelly Sonel is quality but pricy :( Please mind the finder will also localize the place where defective cable lost continuity and typically with accuracy up to 5 cm, that really can help you avoid demolition and save time. Reflectometer would do the job also for underground cable use-case;) Btw affordable cable finders start from 45 GDP i.e. UNI-T UT683KIT.
I'll check that out as seems quite handy.
You can take the man out of the council... But you will never take the council out of the man.
Smash them tiles of the wall for no reason 😂
If I ever saw a job to walk away from this would be it 😂
I had a new kitchen fitted last year and the Eastern European electrician that the kitchen fitter arranged, used 1.5mm T&E. I had to rip that out and replace it with 2.5mm. He then never came back for the 2nd fix and I had to do that myself so I could cook. Subsequently tested and fully passed the testing process. The old 4mm for oven and hob were OK and reused.
cost effective projects may finish that way
It’s a shame bad work is common instead of RARE due to incompetence or neglect or don’t care. Whatever, it’s good to know it’s not all bad when you are fortunate to have GREAT TRADESPEOPLE doing the job!😊😊😊
Dusk mask on his bonce, quality Del
would it be possible to switch the electrics on and trace the cable using a detector ?
not in this situation, and the detectors that "might" work are very very expensive, as messy as it seemed, he did it the right way
Del…..i don’t want you to worry about the worktop. Please…..dont worry about it.
Nice customer. Are they common in the trade ? 😂
Booby trap job created by kitchen fitters usually had at least one job similar , usually tiled to hide their mess!
Lovely plastic fused spur right next to the frying pans 👍🤷🏻
Customer has done that 100% and instead of admitting it, he blames the builder 😂😂
Don't think so, probably a cowboy builder who said he could do electrical work as well. If he had done it himself he would have tried to fix it himself.
He did, he knew everything about it.
@@ollydearden didn't say he didn't know. I said he didn't do it himself. He just got it done on the cheap. Given how much electricians charge I'm not surprised, as most electricians do a half arsed job anyways.
What a mess, how is he going to get the tiles back with that box and trunking there?🤣
I wonder if you’re from the electrical f ups page
Kitchen fitter special what a KF cant do (in their own mind)
Broke the tiles for absolutely no reason, couldnt you just check behind before breaking?
That job looks like aggravation
😂😂😂
NEVER TRUST A MAN WHO IS CHASING WITH A SCREWDRIVER XD
Terrible electrical work and terrible tiling as well.
You literally don't know what your walking into
