ERivera94 has two copies of this figure, one broke, one didn't. It seems the figures with a more matte finish on the torso will break, but the shinier torsos will not. The sticky white powder appears to be universal however...
That sticky powery stuff could be mold release spray. Sprayed into the steel molds before the plastic is injected. It's supposed to be cleaned off before the product is packages, but that could be a victim of cost cutting by Hasbro.
To start with, I had that residue you talk about prior to opening, but i think it was something put in the mold before they injected the plastic. Mine was covered in it, but it washed right off with warm water. Second, you see "Sneaky" in the fight scene of iron man 3 with the deployment of Iron Legion. Very brief, it's the one that lost a leg, Tony got in it to escape and fell due to the missing leg and it flew apart on impact. Tony said some snide remark and that's pretty much it.
Refreshing. An honest reviewer mentioning the legs breakage problem right off the bat. Kudos to you sir. Big FAILS on the reviews for this figure from some of your peers (Shartimus Prime, ERivera... Shame on these two). Sub earned.
awesome review always MCU24, appreciate these heads up,.. I cancelled my pre-order as Ive been hearing more of QC issues, & would rather wait for these in stores to pick the better figs..too much Ironman, but still good releases.
I had that powder on my Scientist Supreme fig. I’m thinking it so the joints don’t get stuck during shipping. If it’s sticky it may be due to humidity. I don’t really know just theorizing
Yep the shoulder pads should be different along with the boot and gauntlet cuffs (should have an angle to them) and the helmet should be different too. I agree with you about them re-using an existing sculpt. Saves a lot of money. Shame the repulsor hands aren't hinged. They did it for modular Iron Man. Really glad your's didn't break.🙂
This figure is such a disappointment. In addition to the shoulderpads and non-red unibeam, it should have curved boot and glove cuffs, a backpack, and even a different faceplate. And while I get making the figure blue even though the armor is black because that's how it looked like in the old comics because of color printing limitations, but it should be a much deeper almost-black blue and there shouldn't be any hue variation. I know reducing costs is a factor, but the figure would still use 60% the 80 Years mold even if it was accurate.

Got the one with matte finish. Luckily no breakage so far.
You can tell the old school fans from the new ones when referring to the Uni Beam as the Arc Reactor.
no one cares
Yes it was never called the Arc reactor until the movie came out.
Dawg who cares
This figure looks so cool can't wait to get one

I appreciate that. I’ve missed things like that before whether I was just not yet aware or forget to mention. Could be the case for them.
That's not an arc reactor pal, that's a uni beam. Arc reactors are a movie thing retrofitted into modern comics.
This is one of those figures that doesn’t have a place in my collection but I want nonetheless
Other than the silver sentry armor. This is my 2nd favorite armor of iron man.
That residue stuff was also all over my aim scientist supreme
What the hell is that?

These figures feel super cheap.
