And as a 33 year old man that grew up in NY if that class was actually together all the time with all us from the street ole Fonzi would've been the quietest, most shunned person in class & definitely would've gotten his ass whooped many times 😂
The fact that the "coolest"/"toughest" kids in the classroom are the ones wearing leather jackets, and the fact that a predominately-POC classroom somehow connected with their teacher when she tells them about Bob Dylan, lets you know that some middle-aged white man named Ted probably thought he went off when he wrote the screenplay for this film lol
Even worse. His name’s John N. Smith. Couldn’t get more generic than that. Lowkey feel kinda insulted at how all the poc characters are portrayed here.
How much did Lounne Johnson despise Dangerous Minds? Louanne sent them back to the studio every time. (Also, LAJ said that about 1/3rd of her student were white, and that they never called her racist names, stood up on tables, etc.)

This was the first movie my uncle bought when he bought a VHS. He invited the whole family over and we watched it on a tiny ass screen. I remember everyone being so impressed. How far we've come.
The trope of high school students in TV and movies being about 10-15 years older than they should could make for a pretty interesting take on "I'm the new teacher, I'm scared!" Cast the 'kids' as if they were going to be members of a prison gang, like get Danny Trejo and Ving Rhames and Mo'Nique to play the classmates and make that the joke of the movie. The teacher sees the kids as these old, imposing and terrifying people but the veteran teachers see them as kids. Maybe after the teacher learns THEIR lesson about "all kids are rowdy, some just wear different clothes and have different accents" they see the class in the same clothes they were always wearing but now Ving Rhames is just a 5'2 14 year old freshman
My biggest problem was the way they portrayed the school system in this movie. It just felt really lazy and what little we're shown is portrayed so one-dimensionally that it's kinda funny. That “working and providing for the family is way more important than an education” mindset was infectious back than. SMH and that part of the movie still pisses me off.
The reason kids were older in High School in the 90s was because they kept pushing everyone to "Get your HS Diploma, or you wont amount to nothing" - So you had 20 year olds still getting chances to do classes in normal school sometimes while holding down jobs and raising kids they had at the age of 15.

I went from average scores to being in the National Honor Society and a recipient of a Michael Furgeson Award for a perfect score in social studies. On another note I never even questioned the kind of class they were in 🤣 Way back in my old middle school, kids that were considered problem students had to go to a class that was like a group therapy session. We had to take anger management and do these lil dumbass tasks called weekly challenges. 🙄 One time the weekly challenge was to give someone in one of your classes, that you don't usually talk to, a piece of candy. It ended with a mock graduation and certificates. It was dumb but kinda lit. We'd have talks, maybe vent, listen to music, study and some other random stuff. I had a typing class like this. The teacher quit the first week after everyone removed the keys from the keyboard. Substitute everyday and we all got hall passes at the start of class for the rest of the year.
Don't blame em don't get paid enough to deal with lil punk ass kids who don't even know how real life works or care bout thier education which is bullshit anyway
Ghetto
I think This the movie Bill Burr was talking about, the "white lady saves the ghetto" movie. lol And emillio damn sure wouldn't be the coolest kid in class no where
That Bills piece was hilarious!
He was talking about the Hilary Swank one called Freedom Writers... Basically the same movie
@@positivelight5226 Freedom Writers was better
Nope this isn't the same movie, he was talking about the Hillery swank movie..
@@mateaukalua4426 I don't care, they're both terrible
There’s a lot that’s unrealistic about this movie - how old the kids looked in the 90s is not one of them.
Thank you! I remember when I saw a class picture of 15 year olds from 1995(same year as the film), 95% of them looked 25 the least.
People was more mature back then, and the food was better.
@@reginaldrichmond9485 I’ll give you the food (sorta) but the people? Eh.
@@Soopology Lol true. The generation X were a nightmare. Back then I couldn't cross another neighbourhood without getting slapped around. The 90's to early 2000's youth were mean ess besterds.
Movies always have adults playing teens.
Michelle Pfeiffer did a fantastic job in this film! 🎥❤️💯
Bra ur killing it I’ve been binging all these videos for 5 days straight at work
You got to a video of bebe's kids fam. That will be so lit. That was one of my favorite cartoon movie in the 90s
Wasn't it a TV show for a lil bit
@@mcbdllc136 It's a cartoon movie
@@LilReikoGold yeah and they tried to do a TV show out of it but it didn't stick
@@mcbdllc136 I didn't know that
"HE ASSIMILATING"
Idk why that caught me so off guard but that was funny
Primm. He’s back. He’s an Allstar
@ 0:46 I was dead AF when u added the GTA San Andreas club dance controls lol 🤣😂🤣😂, PS: PLEASE DO ZEBRAHEAD.
I can say that you are hilarious ASF and that this is one of my favorite movies, it's a great movie... Thanks for the laughs too...
They say this is based off a book from the 90s but I've seen this almost exact premise in the 1955 movie "Blackboard Jungle" starring Sidney Poitier. It still has a touch of cheese to it but I'd watch it over Dangerous Minds
I thought that movie was pretty dope tbh
Blackboard Jungle is a classic!
That wasn't Sidney Poitier. It was Glenn Ford in Blackboard Jungle.
Sidney was in To Sir With Love.
@@charlesharding903 Sidney was 100% in Blackboard Jungle and so was Vic Morrow. They were both students. You can google it if you're confused
@@craigyoung9321 Yes he was that's true. He wasn't playing the teacher which is what I thought you were implying.
I'm a teacher rn at an economically disadvantaged school and it's not even like this lol 🙄🙄 That Gaston comparison has me crying 😂😭😂😭
It is like this what you mean
Economically disadvantaged compared to what lol because there are def schools like this

@Vadge Maguire bruv 😐😐
@Vadge Maguire they gonna do his ass like Jody in front of the store in baby boy " I got jumped by some little niggas"
Now if the teacher could make the mean grandma come around to appreciate poetry i would be gagged.
Thanks for the video. They always make my day!!!
"Poetry and Shit" LMAOO
This has quickly become one of my favorite channels on youtube! Dude is hilarious. Movies I need Primm to review:
The Breaks, He Got Game, Life , Boomerang, 187, Colors, Hoodlum ,Posse, American gangster, Bloodsport! I know his take on all these would be classic!
“Wait a minute; next year? What grade is this Bro? I thought these 🤬 seniors?!” 😂👍🏾 Commentary. Keep it up.
My favorite genre "white person saves all the poor ghetto kids"
LMFAO I stay dying at Primm’s roasts
It’s a good day with he uploads
Its that old grandma...just bitter a** betty if you dont sit yourself down...i love this channel ❤️
I remember thinking this was corny when I watched it as a 9 year old
This nigga really funny. I’m glad you talked about a white savior movie. “You guys don’t know shit” 😂
This movie had probably one of the best and memorable theme songs ever.
Please review BLACK DYNAMITE the movie. One of the funniest hood pictures ever.
How is he gonna roast a funny movie
@@pleaseshutup7053 he already did on Pootie Tang
Black Dynamite isn’t a hood movie
@@shawnstrickland7313 how is it not ?
having short memory is cooll , i get to rewatch old videos like they fresh
Primm is goated for his use of that big worm soundbyte 😂😂
I can't lie, I loved this movie as a kid. I can give it credit for helping me pass school test with flying colors. Listening to music while studying really improved my recall.
I'd always just assumed the class in this movie was something like that. Lol.
If they can't understand me
😩 *HOW CAN THEY REACH ME?*
when youre a shitty kid every class is THAT class
Ur an All-star!!
Weird question but when study with music don't the lyrics confuse you?
@@godfreymitti9241 not really you don’t really hear the words like that, the key is to pick the right music, don’t pick something you’d want to sing along to. You need something chill, relaxing and a vibe, lofi hip hop works wonders
The 'Emelio' character was 29 years old, who played a high school student. Only in Hollywood.😑🙄
Hell this what they do all time since beginning of Hollywood. GREESE everyone 25 at least
Correction. *Hollyweird. That’s what you should call it.
Ahhhhhhh, man.
THIS is the best way to spend my day off right here, seriously
Watching a new Primm video and laughing my ass off for hours because of it. Primm.....he's a goddamn ALLSTAR!
Not important, but I love how one of the female students has her bangs covering her eyes, cartoonishly stylish.
I’m glad u back... I missed you... no pause
I used to believe when I was a kid that teachers didn’t stay in the schools in the hood because no one made a movie about them after one year at work. Lol. Kid logic.
Take it back in the day and do “Hollywood Shuffle” … SOOOO many actors had cameos and roles especially the “how much for an order of ribs” scene 😂😂😂
that was "im gonna git you sucka"
You right! My bad! I meant the scene when Robert Townsend took Jheri Curls activator asking about Cookie Head Jenkins murder 😂😂😂🙌🏾
I love that movie! “ I be got no weapon” and winky dinky dog. 😂
Camel wallllk Tommyyyyy
Love this idea! 💯
Primm posts at random times...he posts at good times....he a all star
PRIMMMMMMM! Your movie reviews are so hilarious and awesome to enjoy! Thank you for the laughter and entertainment! 😎👊
