- While we wish we could have stayed longer, we had a great time at Hilton Head. We had never been there before and it seemed to be a pretty nice place. Me and Austin love going to the beach. It was so cool to see the sting rays, I had never seen any in person before. Comment below and let us know if you've been to Hilton Head before, and if not, where do you like to vacation?

My sisters and I have been there several times. Two years ago, we took an early walk on the beach and saw a sea turtle laying her eggs in the sand. They have a turtle crew who watches and protects them while they are laying the eggs. The crew takes measurements of her and after she leaves, they dig up her eggs and re-bury them in a safer place nearby, off the beaten path. It was exciting to watch the turtle doing her thing. I'm glad you had a good time.
Many beaches along the NC Atlantic coastline protect the turtles, her eggs, & the hatchlings until they are safely in the sea. It is a very rewarding feeling to be able to watch the babies, instinctively, be drawn to the water, & swim away. (If interested, you can see in videos on utube.)
The pretty, dark pink tree you commented on is a crepe myrtle, sometimes called, “the tree of 100 days”, because it blooms June thru September. Many colors, from pink to dark red & white to purple. Enjoyed your quick, but long, trip!
I don't like the moving of the turtles' eggs.
I love Hilton Head. My husband and I have been driving down from Canada to the island, since before we were married in 1994. We were just there this past April. I never get tired of it. The food, the beaches, the history, and the scenery. I was barbed by a stingray in Hilton Head in 2011. I had waded into the water and was only up to my knees when I stepped on one that was hidden in the sand. A trip to the hospital and a very uncomfortable ride back to Canada. Now when I go into the water, I do the stingray shuffle. This stops you from stepping on them and it allows the stingrays to get out of your way. P.S if you get barbed put very hot water on it. It kills the toxin.

What a great trip! I love Hilton Head - the palm trees and all the Spanish moss. I love anywhere on the Atlantic, never really liked the Gulf. I would love to be on the beach and to have some fresh seafood. Thanks for sharing your trip! 🌴
You like dark sand over pure white sugar sand and water where you can't see the bottom 2 feet down instead of it being clear as a pool?
@@drawingdead9025 Yes. I like the bigger waves and knowing how far it is to the other side. I like seeing the different beaches in all the states that are on the Atlantic.
@@Suleclo Don't get me wrong, a day spent on any beach is a good day for me but personally I go for the water and you can't beat the water in most of the FL panhandle.

When a company changes packaging, or updates the upc or things like that, the retailer will get credit to put it on clearance to get the old stuff off the shelves. Or it may be a product they are not going to stock anymore.

It looks just fabulous! I am spoiled because I live about an hour from Cape Cod. However, those beaches are completely different. I love how the green scenery goes almost right up to the beach. That was cool to see.
It looked like y’all had a great time and yes, “Any day is a good day at the beach!” It always has summer showers in SC, but just sitting on a covered porch or by the window still is enjoyable. Great find on the SureJell. Glad y’all got away and had a good relaxing time together!
It is peaceful and beautiful no matter what time of year...I been there in February,still great....lovely.

Glad you got to visit HH! It’s a special place! Have lived here for 30 years. I used to own a villa at Treetops & Ocean Breeze where you stayed. Sold it years ago to build my house. Wish I had it to sell today. I work where you went to the beach. My office is right across the street from Grande Ocean.

So glad you had a good time at Hilton Head & thanks for taking us along. The beach & water looked so clean. The stingray pictures were awesome. I've never seen a "real" one in person & didn't realize they would get into that shallow of water. Wedding cookies are easy to make & oh so yummy. Great find on the pectin...you can never have too much of it. Hugs to you both!

What a beautiful trip and the Beach was my favorite part. Here in AB we don't have many beaches in fact if you go to the beach you must drive for miles before you reach one and if it isn't full of algae you are lucky. Thanks for Posting your two love birds. If you ever get the chance to visit Kiawah island, just up the coast from Hiltonhead do it. It is the best on SC or NC. coast. I and my and Wife spent out honeymoon there in 1983. We have been back every year since.

I do believe if I could get motivated to pack all my stuff Hilton Head would become my new home. You're right about the combination of greenery, sand, and surf. That's most unusual and the greenery is the one thing I missed when living in Florida. HH looks like a low key paradise. Thanks for the heads up.

I love exploring the islands from Hilton Head all the way down to Amelia Island in Florida. Jekyll is my favorite and is highly recommended :)
Glad ya'll had a good time. Beautiful area you were at a stark contrast from your mountain home. Love eating fresh seafood too. We get it easily because we live not far from the coast. That little fairy garden was cute. Mom and dad said in their 4th video that they rather be hiking in the woods.

Corie, you did a totally beautiful job of filming all aspects of the beach trip. A special talent in itself! We used to do a beach week usually at the Outer Banks every summer and tried to make it on or around July 4th. Wonderful memories, but that was from going from the east coast and now living nearer the west coast, I miss it sooo much. California beaches are within 3-5 hours drive but aren't warm and beautiful to me so that's only a rare trip these days.Thanks for sharing. and BTW, I agree ....the seafood on the beach is one of the best treats ever!

Love the comment on beach humidity. “ The air that you can wear”. 😂 I live in Surfside Beach SC and that’s so true. Lol. We were in the mountains a couple of weeks ago and it was hot but not humid. I loved it!
It is a pretty area. We were at Foley Beach which is close by to where you were. I think that tree with the pink flowers is a crepe myrtle. Also love seeing pelicans flying. You can't see them at the jersey coast. Thanks for taking us along for part of your trip.

My idea of heaven…love the beach. I have literally stood and stared at the ocean for hours in thought.Besides, standing in the waterfall at Niagara Falls it is the most spiritual setting in the world to me. Thank you for sharing…

I have been to Hilton Head years ago, but I remember we must have taken a certain route where we had to pay something, so we turned around. It sure looks pretty there with the green trees and Spanish moss! I've never seen a stingray in the ocean, only in aquariumns, so that was real neat. Thank you for sharing your trip! God bless!

So happy that you guys had a wonderful trip!!! Looks like a beautiful place, and the food looked great!!! Every year, my 2 Sons and I vacation in Duluth, Minnesota for 5 days for a Christian music festival called, City On The Hill. We stay at the South Pier Inn, so, we can watch all the huge ships come in. We get a room on the canal and lift bridge side. Look both up. It is an amazing place. It is on Lake Superior, and not too far from the Canadian border - about 150 miles. You can also watch all the ships on the yt Duluth Canal Cam and the Duluth Aerial Bridge Cam channels.
Happy u guys got out of town for a few days. Hilton Head is a pretty area! I also like Charleston, Bald Head Island and my new favorite beach area to visit is Emerald Isle/Indian Beach/Pine Knol Shores. This video reminded me of why I left the NC coast for the mountains....Traffic...suppressive humidity...alligators/cottonmouths....oh yea, let's not forget hurricanes! lol
So glad you could get away for a bit! The beach is my ultimate happy place, I grew up spending a lot of time at the beaches of Maryland during the summers. Sea salty air is absolutely therapeutic. Some family of mine moved down to Beaufort, SC some years ago, not far from Hilton Head.. Beautiful area in the low country, they love it and I do as well, have visited many times. Oh yes, and the seafood is wonderful.

You mentioned Publix in your video. Publix is a fabulous grocery store. The Jenkins family has been extremely philanthropic in our community. I came from from very humble beginnings, but my mother recognized Publix as a place she wanted to purchase our groceries (late 1950’s). They offer buy one get one free items consistently, and provide quality products. I have several friends who have or continue to be employed with this organization. Shopping at Publix is a pleasure. 😊

Hilton Head is indeed a treat to visit. Great snag finding the pectin on clearance. Like you, I figure most people on-island are there to vacation and aren't canning on holiday. Those Siete brand cookies are the bomb. Try the other flavors as well. They're all tasty. Glad y'all had the opportunity to enjoy some beach-time.
