STUPID TAKE the security lost their jobs because they failed to stop him!!!
THEY FAILED AT THEIR JOBS,
Thus
JiDion did the company a favour, next time it could have been a violent ex-employee
They questioned why he was there since he wasnt on the list, they had to call upstairs and he lied about being there for a commercial shoot. Upstairs staff members let him up so what is security supposed to do? "no youre our employer but we can let up your guest for a commercial photo shoot because of protocols"... Lol try that and see how long you keep your job when youre a low level security guard. Often times, employees at companies like these rarely follow protocols with front desk security so what are yall expecting??? This isnt some top secret building, if youve worked in security for buildings like these they almost never have intruders. Security agents there are barely trained and for the most part, act as clerks rather than real security but get the blame when the staff upstairs tells them to bend the rules.
They lost their job because a youtuber made their small mistake a viral video. Low level security agents got fired for a company failing to have strong protocols in place.
Jidion should still feel guilty tho
Goddamn you can't be this silly and heartless
You should've kept that mouth shut

What ppl don’t realize is losing your job isn’t just the end result of jidion’s stupidity.

Security should NOT have been fired if they called to clear him. The person who said send him up should’ve been reprimanded but not fired.
the security guards got scrapgoated by the person who made the mistake to let him in
@@cigneyg3637 pretty messed up
Having worked in security for many years I can tell you security guards are there to be scapegoats
They lost their jobs because they let in an unauthorized person. What gets me is: the guard at the desk called someone for authorization. Someone greenlit that shit. That is the real person that needs to be fired
Thats my thinking. I understand Jidions guilt but i dont fully agree that there wasn't any fault to them or anyone in the company

Also, "Dont get between a man and their dinner (money)!" Those people losing their jobs put them and their families through hardship, not to mention whatever built up benefits they had or maybe progress towards their pension and such, fucking shitty.
"Don't f*ck with my money" - every man out there
Chappelle is the perfect person to say this too. Because when he does jokes on certain people it's international news. But all the jokes on others, including a whole career of hitting black stereotypes HARD, are applauded and gets you a $50+ million dollar contract.

Impractical jokers
I enjoy watching Kristen & Reafe's channels and related content because they are highly entertaining. Even if they are faking their videos, I don't mind because their content is funny and rewatchable . They mostly prank each other, which I find amusing .
However, I believe that pranking strangers should be acceptable as long as it does not cause any harm or hurt anyone's feelings. Shows like Impractical Jokers are a good example of this, as they make fun of themselves and the strangers are usually just there to watch and enjoy the show .

Nah making 3 people lose their job, their insurance etc is 100% evil. Lets say 2 days after getting fired one of the dudes has to see a doctor? There was a dude in Serbia who "pranked" a woman so hard she got a heart attack and died a few days later, but by then the "prankster" was chilling back in Tel Awiw. Didn't even get punished for it.
Yes but if my job is to keep people out of a building a prank shouldn't be able to fool me
@@Imnotsemi security at the desk called to confirm and someone greenlit it, the security that greenlit it should have been to blame and fired, not the ones that DID follow protocol and called to confirm. if you call upstairs and they tell you to send them on up, they did their job to get authorization. Its still upsetting. There should have been some other standards in place to where they called for an authorization and someone from upstairs, instead of just approving them, would come down and meet them and actually see if they had any appts with them. but no, theyre going to let the lowerlings take the fall and not take responsibility.

The office fired security to save their own jobs for the office slipping.
If the "target" of the prank doesn't walk away laughing, it's not a prank it's just harassment. Punk'd did some crazy shit, but it was (almost) always ended with everyone realizing and having a laugh. Those were pranks. Fucking with people and then saying "chill it's a prank" is not a prank.

@user-ye4bu6xh4c so it's REPEATED then. Glad you can read buddy
Generally, I'm with Preach--I don't like pranks. When I was in grade school, a friend "pranked" me by convincing me to stand on a table with wheels...then she yanked the table out from under me, causing me to fall and hurt myself (fortunately only bruises). Around the same time, I "pranked" my dad by pulling a chair out from under him as he was trying to sit down. He wound up scraping his back on the way down, on the seat of the chair. That's when I realized I was no good at pranks and pranks can hurt people. I'm pretty much 100% against physical pranks and 90% against any other kind of prank.
I remember my friend tried to prank me in middle school by holding a pencil under where i was about to sit, pointing straight up...luckily, i saw, and used my hand to block my ass from getting pierced lmao (i was already in motion and didnt have time to move out of the way completely). I think children are especially susceptible to imitating this prank bullshit, which is scary because they're also probably huge consumers of that content.
The frustrating thing about working security that people don’t realize is you also get burnt for doing your job. Some “higher up” forgot their ID, the cousin/ brother/best friend of someone in charge, the pretty girl the boss wants to be with. You stop them and do your job you’re the one getting yelled it. It can be very demotivating. I’m not surprised they gave little pushback. Holding up a “ commercial team “ could mean many of the leadership
Is in charge and there’s a lot of money involved.
Got 3 senior citizens fired, who’s gonna hire them now after their faces being embarrassed like this? He most likely changed their entire outcome of retirement. If dude was sorry, he would give them some compensation or follow up with them. Glad he realized what he did but actions speak louder than words.
Yup and apologizing doesn't make it okay
Im sure he would do so if he could find them
I agree.
you don’t know if he did. If he announced it, “why do it for clout.” When he does it in private, “why didn’t he do anything?”
@@pyotrvoitsekhovski9402 just saying he would’ve posted trying to find them. Isn’t that how you find them
I've worked a similar security job, you can't win in that situation. Most of the time nobody tells security shit in regards to guests/visitors. If the people upstairs say they know the guest and to let them through security can't just deny it.
In the building my company rents an office all the doors/stairs/elevators are on key cards access. All regular employees have their own cards. If there's a visitor or someone forgot their key card, they contact their company's employees and they have to get one of "guest cards" to give for a day. Desk security doesn't let anyone in. Even if someone would call and ask them to. Company's workers have to get down to the front desk themselves and hand a spare key card. This protects security from any unwanted guests trouble. Have no key - cannot enter. And if company employers gave someone a spare key and it was an intruder - that's on them.
This policy works quite well in my opinion.
yeah there should be a set of procedures the the security have to follow in regards to dealing with visitors.
If they follow procedure the security shouldn't have anything to worry about.
Maybe I watch again but not sure why the security got into trouble here if staff said they knew the people visiting.
And those upper people aren’t going to take responsibility, it’s security that takes the fall.
Well said, I work security on the side and I've seen what you mentioned most times. Security is often set up for failure with this stuff
@@andrewjoyner4133 Well that's just it. Majority of the time there IS standard operating procedures for security. It'll be different building to building but generally it's to get the guests ID to verify they are who they say, then contact who they say they're here to see to verify that. If both things are good, the guest is good to go. It sounds like Jidion gave them some kind of ID, and the guys upstairs said it was okay for him to come through. Nothing else for security to do at that point. You can''t expect them to just stop random approved guests for no reason. My guess is someone in the office got in trouble for letting him in, and they passed the buck to security.

I agree with Jidion's take that it is evil. Something can be objectively evil, no matter the intent. People have done evil out of compassion or necessity for survival. As the saying goes "Hell is paved with good intentions". Voluntarily spreading chaos (fear, confusion, anxiety, etc) in other peoples lives for your egotistical self gratification and social media gains is evil. There is no reason for it. It does 0 good, but does real harm, and by this calculation it can be considered evil.
Well said my brother, pranks itself are a form of evil, an I understand when people hear the word EVIL it’s like ohhh gasp man He didn’t do anything that bad. There levels to evil, same way people say sleep is the cousin of death, same thing here

First lady called, she ended the interaction with Jidion giving him his ID back and told him he had to make an appointment with a contact person. Why would she tell him to make an appointment if upstairs said ''let him though'' ?
He meets a second lady at a gate who asks if he has a visitor pass, he tells her he doesn't and that usually they just go through. She answers ''I'm not supposed to but I'mma let y'all go'' and opens the gate for him. She's literally saying she's doing her job wrong.
It's not the upper management's fault, she chose to do that because he tricked her.
An actual prank I've personally helped with: when my dad worked for an architecture company, a lot of people would do pranks for april fools. he had the great idea to setup a mannequin in a men's bathroom stall with high heels and a dress, so we went in the weekend before when no one was in the office and set it up. With a quick glance you'd think it's real, but it was obviously not an actual person when you look at it for more than a second. It was harmless, and it was funny to everyone in the company. THAT'S a prank.

There does not have to BE INTENT for something to be Evil - an act that stomps on others at their cost for your gain is EVIL whether you wanted it to get that bad or not
Agreed. The act of lying (ie) attempting to bend the framework of reality to get what you want at the detriment of others is the devils work. Evil!
So if they did not get fired etc., would what he did still be "evil"? I feel like the word evil is being thrown around a bit too loose.. does the outcome base how we define it??
@@SkateQrewif you're being objective the outcome is the only thing that matters. If you're being subjective, it's evil regardless of the outcome, because you either knew it could happen, or you were being negligent.
@@john2300 either way, "Evil" is too harsh of a word. A murder, rapist, robber etc. are evil. What he did was not "evil". IMO. He was not being malicious, looking to get people fired.

nah. everyone is a human being. you cant fix every wrong you have done. As a man what you need to do is learn what you did wrong and not repeat it. In todays victim culture unfortunately, offering an individual apology to each person wrong, will just open a door to their victimization, people no longer know how to forgive, there will be an end to it. Although sad this is the reality of the world and people we live with.
the fact he did the self reflection seemingly on his own without the internet demanding it is refreshing.
Like I commend him for that, but I still think he’s an asshole
It is, but if he were truly sorry and wanted to redeem himself and his actions, he would find their names and then reach out and compensate them with a reasonable amount of money because at the end of the day while he made a bunch of money from the video they lost a bunch of money and potentially lost the ability to pay rent or provide for themselves and their family.
Is it refreshing to admit your sins and your wrongdoings? Just so you can then later on regress back into that same behavior all for attention? Only this time now he's costing those soon Retirees their way of living and retirement pension. Jideon is a jackass plain and simple, No defending him.
@@JudasMaccabeus1 Fair Compensation is such a vague term in this context? what is fair compensation for losing a job? Losing a job because you messed up?
@@JudasMaccabeus1 I'm not sure about compensation as it can be quite complicated. It may involve Jidion having to provide the employees with the money they would have earned if they had not been fired, as well as support for the upcoming months until they find another job. This process would require documentation and could involve a lot of work. Although Jidion is morally responsible for their job loss, he is not legally obligated to compensate them, so it is uncertain if he will pursue this option .
However Jidion(devoted Christian) should at least make an effort to help them. It might not necessarily be a monetary compensation, but he can provide them with employment opportunities to ensure their financial security .

Hopefully those security guards get together and sue that organization. If at ANY time previously they were told by an official to let anyone in that wasn't in he system, they have a case. The job can't make exceptions to the rules sometimes and then get prissy when that behavior backfires.
The security at my workplace see me every morning & bid me a good day every day. I forgot my badge ONE TIME and they would not let me in even though they knew me. I was highly pissed but I still thanked them for doing their job. I know for a fact an “angry ex-employee” would never even make it to my floor with them downstairs. I am grateful for the luxury of safety.

Yup. One time the security panel in my office building for the outside door wasn’t working. Security, who sees me and speaks to me everyday for at least that last 5 years, watched me struggle trying to get my ID to work and open the door.
I was outside 10 minutes and had to call my boss to tell him that I was late because I was stuck outside and security wouldn’t let me in. He had come down to get me.
I understand security has their job to do but I felt some type of way after that. They tried to give lame apologies after they saw my boss show up. I didn’t treat them the same after that. I work 3rd shift and there had been a serious uptick of druggies and crazies in the financial district a few years back. (People have been robbed and chased to their cars). Anything could have happened to me while they watched me try to communicate that they know me and I had my ID. Smh. And I wasn’t the only one that had happened to.
Evil isn't always the intensity of the act but more like the category in which the the act falls under, that's probably what he meant. So lying in a small form can be consider a bad thing to do but falls under an evil act.
Hhhmmm I heard something that adds to what you said," its best not rank the wicked for you will soon be allies with such."
Not that I’m religious anymore but I believe that’s the whole point of when Adam and Eve bit the apple the significance of that gave us the understanding of right and wrong and it’s what separates us from animals because they don’t have the concept of intentionally being evil humans are one of the only animal with the exception of a couple others like apes that can inflict pain intentionally fully understanding the ramifications and deriving pleasure from it

One thing a lot of people don’t realize from this video is that we would’ve never known people lost their jobs if JiDion hadn’t come out and said it. So to me, this in and of itself shows true remorse and repentance for his past actions. He could’ve just kept that bit of info tucked away and nobody would have been any wiser, but he conveyed the consequences of his actions to his impressionable young audience and showed why his previous content was dangerous.
Props to JiDion for his spiritual journey and growth, it takes a strong person to admit when they are wrong, and an even stronger person to make that admission to the world on a very public platform. I’m definitely gonna miss his videos, but I wouldn’t trade this version of JiDion for any other version. Best of luck brother
Nah, there is always someone who will grass you up. People do it all the time on the internet. Now people have started making apology videos because they fear a backlash. Over twenty years ago, I pulled a prank that still haunts me today.
I was 9 or 10. My family amd I were on vacation at a small campground that had a sandy beached lake.
Thinking I was so clever and funny, I decided to prank the other campers by digging several holes in the sand, just below the waterlevel to the point noone wouldn't be able to see them, in hopes people would trip or misstep, and fall into the water. We left before I ever saw the results, and it wasn't until much later that I realized how dangerous my prank was, and that the majority of the people there were frail, elderly folk.
I'll never know how many people I hurt from that, or possibly even had their lives destroyed by me. I still feel incredibly horrible over it.

Posting the video was definitely a mistake and deserves some kind of responsibility, but at the end of the day he didn’t get them fired. The hire ups and their inability to protect the company did, and the security guards and jidion are the ones who have to take the fall.

I learned about these types of tactics in a cybersecurity class that I took. There are criminals who actually do this type of thing to steal from companies. Just like in the movies, where someone dresses up like a cleaning person and gets in a building to steal. Many, many companies don't train on this type of thing. Security personnel and employees really all need to be trained on this and what to look out for. I'm not blaming the company, I'm just saying.
According to the Cambridge Dictionary one definition of evil is "morally bad, cruel, or very unpleasant" and another being "something that is very bad and harmful". That prank fits both of those definitions perfectly. Those security guards obviously failed at their jobs but in succeeding in his prank Jideon did something evil. Those two paradigms can coexist as they often must. Sometimes good people do bad stuff and sometimes bad people do something good. But yeah it was definitely to do that prank knowing full well it could get someone fired.
I can respect the self-reflection, but causing people to lose their income is foul

I think its an important step in the right direction for society if we can get people on board with this type of moral thinking.

Pranks are between friends and people you know, bullying is something you do to a stranger or someone who doesn’t like you.

I don't see that as being an asshole even if they are strangers and I've never seen someone get mad or upset about it, but the people I've seen do it are also pretty careful about not scaring old or obviously disabled folks.

I've done security for over ten years. Part of their jobs is access control aside from signing people in at the desk they are supposed to have a list of authorized personnel as well as any scheduled meetings or events and names of the guests on that list. If not they need to call up the line to who is in charge of said area, meeting what have you and get them authorized before granting access.
Watching the video, I was screaming in my head “Why are they letting a stranger with bags access to a secured area?” I’ve had to enter many areas as a utility worker for legitimate purposes. I fully understand why these people were fired. They failed at their primary function. That said, as this “content provider” said, he profited off this. That’s what is wrong with the fallout. It was wrong to make this public and profit off people’s loss.
Agree they failed to do their due diligence, they relied on someone’s words instead of doing what they’re paid to do…….!!!!

They should have not been fired and the security manager or chief of security should have been fired. Security seemed to have followed a protocol and the protocol failed. Cyber Security analysts do this for cyber security, it's called social engineering and 99% of the time it's a failure of the system and not the person. Make these policies better, teach these people these policies AND teach them social engineering tactics. Make them more confrontational to people they don't know.
The worst part was access control. Person who was suppose to ID him fumbled. Once there's no authorization should've turned him back around but I see the pressure since security is the fist impression of the companies and they're told to be respectful and understanding towards customers especially ones providing money towards the agency or what not.

I agree to a point.
The issue with them is that they are security officers. No matter what this youtuber did, if they did their jobs it wouldn't have happened. They are actually accountable. Him lying or not, should not have mattered if they did the proper checks.
Still if you are accustomed to a job, there is potential for Complacency. So there was a certain number of trust he had for patrons coming into the door.
So even though they accountable, I am 50/50 on them suing him.
They are accountable for him even make it
But would they even have the funds to sue someone? It’s easier said than done
Absolutely
Not really worth suing unless they were unemployed for an extended period of time. You can only sue for damages that would include hours lost. But also, the judge could throw it out due to the security not doing their job properly
please walk us through the charges, how they'd go about it. And what legal basis they have for it.

Selfishness is evil, one of the worse forms and it can display it self in nasty ways depending on what is standing in the way of you serving yourself.
I'm with Preach on that one, most of the time it can all resolve as "hey, I'm just kidding myself out of you, I'm UA-camr yareyareyare" , but sometimes it can turn into a danger( which is avoidable). This can start with a good old fashioned slap in the face to having someone whack you, or even having people you "prank" suffer professional and/or career consequences.
I know there are some harmless pranks and yes you can smile about them, but I feel like the thrill some pranksters get out of it makes them want to pull off crazier and crazier pranks.
China
No, it is evil. Period. Being purposely reckless, lying, and being foolish in a way that adversely effects other peoples' lives is evil. Whether he intended for them to get fired or not is moot.
hell yeah it is, they have "fired for creating a security risk" on their record. That makes it harder to get a job and if they get that job an employer is less likely to match their past pay too since they proved they are "bad" at their job.
I’m glad JiDion made awareness to the prank culture. The benefits never outweigh the costs, even if the benefits are high. The ramifications have a deep ripple effect. Example:
My dad worked security until he retired. If he would’ve gotten fired, he probably would’ve been forced to retire, not made as much on Social Security, and with my mom being disabled, barely would’ve made enough to help provide for them in their later years. I wouldn’t be able to help, because I barely have enough to support my own family. I don’t know if I would’ve ever forgave the person that cost my dad his job causing unnecessary suffering for the rest of their lives.
The emotional suffering from losing a job when you’re already barely making enough is unmeasurable, especially by a person who’s making millions and doesn’t give a shit about that person’s family livelihood.
Indeed that's evil
I agree with him calling what he did evil The security guards that were on camera looked to be older you don't know if losing their jobs cost them their retirement you don't know if they were living paycheck to paycheck. These weren't 20 and 30 yr olds these people looked well over 50.
I was never a big fan of Jidion. I do respect him if he found something that feels like a calling for him to better himself. I hope everybody gets to find something that they are passionate about that gives them fulfillment.
This teminds me of tv show, "What would you do?"
Host John Quinones.
Setting people up.
My mom loved that show. I hated it. You set up a situation, get people worked up, then pop out, it's just a show. I cried a few times because I couldn't imagine going through those tense moments then shut it down in a moment.
Would we all like to be heroes, yes. To be honest I'm not dying today. And now we see what happens when "Pranks" go too far.
Also, people getting in your face with a microphone, and get aggressive with questions don't forget to show the a@& whooping when you do it.
I know that building Jidion pulled those pranks in. It is the Old Post Office in downtown Chicago. Aside from Gatorade, there are SEVERAL major companies, many with sensitive information there and concerns for corporate espionage. I know that the Chicago Board of Options Exchange is there too. That is one of the nation's major training exchanges. It sucks, but it makes sense that they fired those security guards for letting him in. If he could get in there he probably could have gotten into the offices of more sensitive organizations.
Yup... the pushing into the pool hit home for me. My uncle and his buddies when they were kids pushed one of their friends in a public pool after opening hours.
