Great videos! I love how you have describe this as a "spare" clarinet.

I've been playing Ridenour Libertas ... purchased YCL-650 the other day with the idea that it is closer to R13 sound and without the tuning issues. I understand that SEV is similar? Has that been your finding?

I have never tried the 650. In fact SEV Masters is the first Yamaha clarinet I've ever played. It is definitely closer to R13 than, say to Selmer Privilege that is my main pair of clarinets. It is not nearly as powerful as Selmer, and not quite as powerful as my former clarinet, Buffet Festival (which sports the R13 bore). It is not a copy of R13, it is certainly a thing in itself. Fobes barrels make the audible improvement in sound and intonation. The keywork could have been of higher quality, too. But for the money (especially if you get it at B-stock / slightly used prices), it is a decent backup instrument.
