Straight to to end of the park and you will see a swimming pool.At that area you can see Black and yellow broadbill,Banded broadbill,Black and Red broadbill...And also few species of Spiderhunters
Jeez. What a bird fest you found there. Some super footage and so many species in what seemed to be some grotty water. I presume your understanding wife was mooching around a nice cool shopping mall. Fair exchange right!! Tks for taking us with you.
Good find in Sg Bunus! Many bird species within neighbourhood parks within the Klang Valley: Common ioras, oriental magpie robin, blue throated kingfisher, indian white eye, olive backed sunbird, black naped oriole, eurasian sparrow, purple heron, cattle egret, sunda pygmy woodpecker, asian koel, common flamebacks, pink necked green pigeon, asian glossy starling, black winged flycatcher shrike, asian red-eyed bulbul, pied triller, malaysian pied fantail, zebra dove, spotted dove, yellow vented bulbul, rock pigeon, javen myna, common myna, jungle myna, house crow, crested goshawk, lineated barbet.etc Not to mention the birding hotspots (kuala selangor nature park, fraser's, hulu langat.etc). The beauty of Malaysia are the many neighbourhood parks in residential areas (most residential garden have at least one park) - they are a goldmine for amateur and seasoned birders, u don't have to travel far. Another goldmine are the flood retention ponds like the one u found (Sg Bunus), Sg Batu, Sg Tambul, the many forested areas Ara damansara, (unfortunately as development takes over we are losing many of these), forest reserves and hiking trails bukit kiara, gasing hill, kota damasara community forest There are many birding groups and they publish reports which serves as useful references MNS, Malaysian Bird Report malaysianbird.report/report/vol-3-2024/ - their latest publication
That has always been my plan. Too many ordinary travel videos of places that show eating and hiking. All the same, with annoying music added. Let’s see the wildlife.
1:59 there's a police academy and the Ministry of Defence office nearby. BTW if you go to the Keramat AU2 & AU3 residential area around 7 in the morning (probably 5 minutes away from this resevoir), you'll find a lot of birds coming in from the National Zoo. I live around the area and when I first moved there I was always suprised by the types of birds found roaming around. not that I know the species lol. then my dad told me they're mostly from the zoo, which was like 5 minutes away. it's always a delight to hear and see them flying in every morning. and always caught me by surprise when I saw them perched on the traffic lights lol because they're like big birds hahaha.
Next time try negeri perak...lots of places that bird migrate from all over...at this time at kampar perak, jalan bandar baru kampar to malim nawar they will be thousands of birds at one time..
@stormcabbirds I have been promoting birding tours in our national park ie. Taman Negara in Pahang for the last 12 years. One of the "must go" destinations for birding besides Fraser's Hill and Kuala Selangor. If you haven't gone there, it should be in the list for your next visit. Minimum 3 nights required. I have some videos of the species of birds in my channel
KL Bird Park is not wild birds as they are "caged". Birders prefer to see birds in their wild habitat. Furthermore, KL Bird Park includes foreign species which are not resident not migratory birds in Malaysia Bird Checklist
If you can get from an authority permission for bird watching or go the nearby Police Station ask them where u can get that permission .Try to go to Klang Gate Dam or u head to Gombak district. There are handfull birds .And google for Kuala Gula in Perak. Its a estuary for immigrated birds. As for me , Perak is one of a state that full with immigrated birds. Some even from Russia.I loves to c so many flockes of the grey herron in the paddy field at the whole roadside near coastal road in Perak.Try it n there are handfull birds santuaries at Malaysia estuaries anyway.Good luck
I assume you need very good eyesight to be a birder, because I live in Malaysia but I've never seen or noticed some of these species. Here you are a few days in and already seeing all these magnificent birds
@@AfifZulkifli you get good at spotting them. Bird behaviour is the same the world over, so you can take those skills anywhere you go. Having a good telephoto lens is essential to get you closer than just your eyes.
If you still un Malaysia or next time in Malaysia, can try Putrajaya as many parks (over 10 parks) and mostly at the Wetland where are heaven for migratory birds as well as local ones.

@@ROYAL_REBEL yeah, but hate any kind of zoo. Went there because it was something to take my wife to. I’m not taking photos of captive animals. I actually do like zoos for the wild animals they attract. The Kuala Lumpur zoo had dozens of wild monkeys in the trees, and a few dozen birds species coming down to steal animal food
Didn't realize there are so many bird species in the city center, i thought it was only home to house pigeons, dove and crows due to the pollution/urban style
this area is somewhere between tasik titiwangsa and national zoo. a lot of nature, plus it's near the natural limestone formations and hills and mountains, so it's easy to find wild birds here. not near, near. but still within 15 minutes from batu caves.
