I Have a 2020 Rad Rover Step Thru 1 with Almost 1800 off road miles on it with Problem Free , not even a flat tire . I Love my Bike for so many reasons.

Customer service experiences can vary but after sales support can make or break a company. Sounds like for the most part Rad Power Bikes is doing a pretty good job but customer service reps could take more inititive and ownership of customer complaints and make Rad Power Bikes even better. This honest video should be mandatory viewing by every Rad Power Bikes Customer Service rep. Good job Stan.

Sorry to hear about your issues. Purchased a 2021 in February radrover 5 complete with fenders and installed aftermarket rack, tire inserts, etc. Past summer used the bike to herd cattle and run over a rattle snake (not by choice) and hit the back country. Would absolutely recommend this bike, put it through hell and still purrs like a kitten. And thanks for the heads up on the skid plate, will order after this comment.

Bummer the bottom bracket went out on you. But thankfully after a few attempts you got your bike fixed and they paid for the repair. Not many E Bike companies would do that. Thanks for the video and the updates. Keep them coming. I enjoy your videos.

I just bought the new rad rover 5!!! Loved the beginning of this video. I’m looking forward to putting some serious miles On the trails here in the ozarks.

Great video again, Stan. The customer service issue is surprising in the days of social media reviews. A person could easily base a purchase on the spin of a single (honest) review. Re the skid plate, I think for something that basic I'd make one myself.

  • @DrummerPierre

Seems to me a skid plate should not be a third-party "option". It seems like something RAD needs to fix. They should design future models with that feature automatically installed. Thanks for pointing that out, Stan.

Thank you for making this video. I like that you are straight forward and I feel good about ordering a bike a few days ago. They customer service thing pisses me off but hopefully they will fix it. There’s a lot of other bikes coming on the market.

Nice review. For transport, I bought a motorcycle carrier from Harbor freight for $130. It's a bit of a pain to tie down but it works great and includes a ramp for when I am too tired to lift the bike.

Well the ecotric hammer 2020 does not have exposed cables on the bottom they are enclosed but it probably holds water that's what I'm wondering

Great information & thanks! 👌 So far I've been looking at this and Lectric, but I just started looking. At this point I'm only thinking of riding on sidewalks to the stores in my subdivision and in particular to get outside and some exercise. I'm getting old (55), fat and not liking getting too lazy.
I do like that this bike has a front shock, a decent motor and lots of potential mods.

Thanks for the review. Was it difficult to change the tire. You say there's a big difference in tire cost. Is the more expensive tire worth it?

Sounds like a company with some growing pains after becoming very popular. They're clearly trying hard. Good balanced review. Given how aggressively they price them, I wouldn't expect perfect quality control. But as long as the support is there for when issues arise, it's a good buy.

Just saw your review, thanks for letting me know that it's got some longevity under some hard use. I have a question for what type of rack do you use. You mentioned that it was a tow peak, is it a Topeak Uni Super Tourist Fat Disc Frame Mounted Bicycle Rack?
    Thanks for the video.

Best review of any bike I’ve seen so far. Thanks for your honest opinion. Makes me think more about the service I’ll get after I purchase a bike. Now that you’ve had this bike for a while, would you spend a little more on another bike? Or would you buy this one again? Thanks again. Great review!!!

Hello!!! A beginner's question. I'm going to buy a Radrover but I can't decide between Radrover 5 and Step Thru. Please help!!! Which is more versatile? I would like to have a bike that performs well in the city and in the mountains. Is Step thru really much more comfortable than 5 ??

I was looking at Radrover but I think I will wait until Cyber Monday, thanks for the info. Hoping to get a deal and still get the $200 off for a 2-fer so I can pick my wife up a Radcity. Love your videos Mr. Hench.
    Ride on, my friend.

I purchased the 2019 Radwagon, upon delivery there was a long deep scratch on the under belly of the bike below where the battery sits. I write to the company and explained to them that I forgot to apply a coupon to my order and there was a scratch on my bike during delivery. They gave me $50.00 off the price of the bike because of the scratch and totally ignored my coupon request, they never honored the $50.00 off coupon. Which would have gave me $50 off and $50 off to the person that referred me to rad power bikes. Plus I never did get the screws for the foot rails. I have since sold the bike and took a small loss and will never buy another Rad Power Bike again. The owners or worker just don't give two shits about their customers.

Thanks for making these review videos. I just got my bike a week ago, and it was your reviews that helped me to decide which bike to go for.
What pressure are you running the tires at? I have been riding with them at 5-10psi off road and it's fantastic, but the manual says to run them at 30psi. I just wondered what your take on that was, seeing as you're off road a lot.

Thanks for being honest Stan. I am having some tuning issues on my new Rover. This is my second one and it is not as smooth as my first 2018 model. I hope I can smooth it out. The rear brake came too tight and dragged hard and I seem to be fighting the pedal assist, weird. I will check the sensor alignment before I call RAD. Keep these reviews coming. Thanks

You're so right. Customer service always picks up the phone. But if you have serious problems, you better wear a video camera on your forehead at all times. Go tell you they're going to do something, but too much running around to get anything done. Just my opinion from my experience with rad company..
And I love my radrover. Just sad I can't get real help from them. ☹️

Dear Stan: Originally you told in one part of the video other stories that you had experienced with your Rad Rover. For example the thing that you couldn't take off the flywheel. You told it very precise and authentic. Obviously you had to cut your video. It's sad, that you cannot tell the truth and your opinion in a free country. There are always good and bad things about everything. A honest opinion must be possible.

Nice review but your drove me nuts with your quirky need to drum your fingers on whatever part you were talking about??
Use your your finger to point out your item of discussion and then put your hand away into your pocket! Sounds like Rad
    could upgrade their part quality!
