I'm over 60 and Cinnamon Toast Crunch is still my favorite 😊
It’s both my favorite cereal and ice cream topping! I highly recommend trying it on vanilla ice cream it if you haven’t already. There’s just something about that cinnamon goodness mixed with the creamy cold vanilla ❤
Yeah, if you're not used to Fruity-flavored cereals then they may hit you weirdly. But for those of us who grew up on them, they're still pretty good. We just know what kind of flavor to expect. Know what I mean? Also each one has a slightly different flavor. Fruit Loops do have kind or a weird flavor to them. Though their more mature cousin, Apple Jacks, had an Apple Cinnamon flavor I think (I haven't them in a LONG time, so I've forgotten).
I'm surprised they didn't like those Trix. We used to love them. And these here look like a new and improved version. The version we had growing up were just multi-flavored puff balls, like cocoa puffs except in Fruit flavors instead of chocolate. These Trix were actually in the shape of the fruits...which I thought looked cool.
But here's we what you gotta realize is that most of these cereals are made from either wheat or corn. And since the UK is not that big of a corn producer, if at all, you're probably not gonna get a lot of variety of cereals that are made from corn.
I'll be 50 here next month, and I still love me some of these sweet cereals. Not gonna lie. We've got generic Trix and Cocoa Pebbles in our cupboard as we speak.
Cinnamon Toast Crunch is one of the better ones for older folks. It's LOADED with Cinnamon Brown Sugar. One of my favorites though is Honey Bunches of Oats w/ fruit chunks.
Apple Jacks are underrated
We have Cheerios too. In fact, they are made by General Mills, an American company.
"Silly rabbit! Trix are for kids." I always remember the ads for all the cereals. Until I was about those boys' age, I was a heavy cereal eater. I still like cereal and always drink the milk from the bowl when I'm done.
It was one of the most marketed products to kids hands down! Growing up all of the commercials for kids were wild but they made some good cereal commercials 😂 that’s why i tried Cookie Crisp the wolf trying to get the cereal from the kids got me lol I remember Apple Jacks had a few too
At 9:00 when he says "it's so crunchy it almost cuts your mouth" -- that is a very real feeling. Blue Man Group has a part of their show where they stuff massive amounts of Cap'n Crunch into their mouth, then make music with the crunching. [look up the video] Before the show they have to run the dry cereal through a machine that looks like a cement mixer in order to smooth off all the "sharp" edges so it's not uncomfortable for the performers on stage.
Oh the Cap'n Crunch has two varieties. The one seen there that is yellow and shaped like smashed barrels. Probably to mimic pirate Rum barrels. And it tastes like sweet corn I think. The other variety is Peanut Butter, and it comes in little puff balls, and it is REALLY Peanut Buttery. In fact, basically take the chocolate puffs out of the Reeses cereal and you got Peanut Butter Cap'n Crunch. In fact, as a kid, I didn't even realize there was the yellow variety until later on.
theres def more than 2 varieties. they also have Capn Crunch with berries and Capn crunch whoops all berries
They didn't let them try my favorite. Apple Jacks, cinnamon apple goodness.
Love Lucky Charms. Definitely one of the best cereals
Cap'n crunch isn't cinnamon though there are various varieties but it will tear your mouth up sometimes lol Plenty of memories of the roof of my mouth sore
The peanut butter one is my favorite but reeses puffs still beats it
That cereal is like one of the least liked ones
I’m 60yrs old and I LOVE Cap’n Crunch (and Peanut Butter Cap’n Crunch)…my mom wouldn’t buy it because of the sugar and cost. I have it maybe once every couple of years …. still my favorite!
I’m not into sweet cereal. I prefer shredded wheat, corn flakes, and Chex. I’m practically an old man 😂
I actually like to mix a sweet cereal WITH something like shredded wheat or corn flakes or Kashi about 50/50 😂
Satisfies the sweet craving but in a more substantial & less unhealthy way
The cereal we always have in the pantry is Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Frosted Flakes. I love Reese’s Puffs and Frosted Mini Wheats as well, so those get thrown into the mix from time to time.
When I was a kid our parents only let us eat highly sugared cereal on Saturday mornings, to the point that we referred to these cereals as “Saturday Cereal” in our family
As an adult now looking back on this, it was perfect. I still enjoy these cereals, but only once a week if that
I often like to mix these cereals 50/50 with a healthy cereal like Kashi or granola or shredded wheat
As a kid, my parents didn't buy "sugar cereals"
BUT, each one of us kids spent a week each summer with my grandparents (being spoiled) & we got to choose our own box of sugar cereal, just for us.
This was back in the days when you got a free toy inside, so there was always a trade-off...better cereal vs cooler toy 😂
Everyone of them are good. That’s why they still sell it. Now the 80,s has the best cereals!
Silly rabbit trix are for kids lolol when I was a kid I loved that cereal
The super-brightly-colored ones (Trix, Froot Loops, etc.) are mainly intended for young children. As an adult, you're probably going to prefer the brown cereals: Golden Grahams, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, raisin bran (especially the kind with the granola in it), Oh's, Honey Bunches of Oats, Honey Nut Cheerios, Cocoa Krispies, ... and maybe some of the ones with the bits of dried fruit in them.
Nutritionally speaking, it doesn't matter very much how much sugar you do or don't eat, as long as A) it doesn't push your calorie count too high for your activity level, B) you also eat enough fresh fruits and vegetables to get all the vitamins and minerals and dietary fiber that you need, and C) you have fluoride in your water and/or religiously take good care of your teeth. Fundamentally, pretty much the whole point of your digestive system, is to turn all the calories you eat into six-carbon sugars anyway, so as long as you're not letting it rot your teeth or displace things that you need in your diet, eating pure sugar is not materially worse for your health than eating other food that gets broken down into sugar. (Although sugar doesn't take very long to digest, so eating it all at once very quickly, can be a problem if you are prone to diabetes; whereas, gradually taking it in all day long, is really hard on your teeth. Balancing these concerns is left as an exercise.) Salt, on the other hand, can be a fairly serious problem if you eat too much of it, which a lot of Americans do.
have to remember that uk taste preferences are different so certain things just don't work in a different market...take hershey's for example
Well, Hershey's is gross.
When you've had legitimate European chocolate Hershey's doesn't even compare. It's cool as comfort food but it's mid. Europeans also hate it cuz they don't use butyrtic acid(vomit) in their chocolate but we do
@@ohitzwavy7173Total nonsense, of course. The chocolate some Europeans feign to dislike is Hershey’s milk chocolate in the traditional dark brown wrapper. The newer Hershey’s Symphony milk chocolate is formulated much more like chocolate they’re used to consuming. BTW, are you trying to coin a new slang word ‘mid’? It’s meaningless.
Love Fruit Loops! They’re nothing like Cheerios or Trix. They missed out on Fruity Pebbles and Apple Jacks.
I'm very surprised they hated Trix. It was one of my favorite cereals growing up (and I am a very sensible eater who is weary of off-tasting stuff). It could be they're not used to sweeter, fruity flavored cereal over there. IMO, they are the best when they've absorbed the milk a little bit (but not soggy). They aren't appealing to me when they are still mostly dry: and in the video, it looks like they ate it immediately after pouring the milk without letting it soak in a little bit.
I know! I have cereals every once in a while just as a snack. I love lucky charms and captain crunch!
I don’t remember as a kid, asking for Trix or Fruit Loops but I know I ate them back then.
I still eat cereal for breakfast during the week before I go to work and I'm 43.
I'm a weirdo though who likes to mix my cereals. Normally I have something like Rice Chex
or Raisin Bran with a little bit of sugary cereal on top. Personally I think Rice Chex goes well with
Reese's Puffs and Golden Grahams. Wheat Chex goes well with Cinnamon Toast Crunch but it's
an acquired taste.
I've been mixing cereals together since I was ten so I've been doing it for 33 years. I know what combos
I like. I know most people would think I'm crazy for doing that but I don't care what people think. During
the weekend I'm boring and I just eat yogurt for breakfast since I'm usually not very hungry. Plus I like to get
up late and that way I don't eat lunch too late in the day. Once I get so old that I have to retire, I'll probably
switch to eating yogurt in the morning during most of the week and only have cereal once or twice during
the week and during the weekend.
I don't like to cook and for years I had a sandwich for lunch so switching to toast or English muffins is not
something I would do. Not until I retire at least.
Reese's puffs and cinnamon toast crunch are my favorites lol
When I was a kid, Trix didn't have fruit flavors. It was like round crunchy corn flakes and looked like yellow rabbit droppings in the bowl. I can't believe these are "popular" in America. There are a lot of cereals that are lightly sweetened or not sweetened at all.
That's Kix. Trix is the fruity version... for kids, silly rabbit.
Ah. Yeah. Kix.
You are right that these are high sugar "sweet cereals" and not the sort of thing I eat or that most adults eat. In fact, Trix used to advertise "Trix are for kids!" My usual is Special K but I also like Corn Flakes, Wheaties and other unsweet cereal. Sometimes I also eat granola.
Same. I had enough sweet cereal in my childhood for a lifetime. I like Special K and Kix and Honey Bunches of Oats. Edit oh and I forgot. I also love the original Cap'n Crunch, not the one with the berries.
I loved trix cereal when I was a kid haha
No Count Chocula? The best cereal of all time? 😂
I was definitely more of a Cocoa Pebbles fan as a kid. I thought it made much better chocolate milk at the bottom of the bowl than Count Chocula.
Im surprised they didn't like Reeses Puffs. It's probably my second favorite. But my first is Cinnamon Toast Crunch. So I'll let it be, lmao
They're all eating it without letting the milk soak in a bit. That definitely affects the experience. I and many people don't eat it the second you pour the milk in.
In the US, we learn to love sugar before we learn to crawl.
As an adult I find stuff like Froot Loops and trix absolutely disgusting but as a kid I couldn’t get enough.
There was a video I watched, some years ago, of a father who was in construction or painting. He informed people of marshmallow cereals having a chemical used for painting or something. I forgot his exact words.

I think that YT video speaks on cereal as well as other food products.
Even as a kid i didnt like the overly sweet cereals like trix. I liked cinnamon toast crunch, honey nut cheerios and frosted flakes. Everything else was mid to me
Trix were my favorite as a kid, I had a jacket with the rabbit on it and a plushie of the rabbit too lol. but there is no way t describe the taste. it's the most artificial thing you could imagine but it's good!!
My mother used to buy Trix or Froot Loops all the time. I cannot eat them to this day. My favorite cereals are Kix, Honey Bunches of Oats, Cap'n Crunch orginal (without all those fruit berry things) and Special K. If my kids don't really like them. They like Rice Krispies Cheerios, Corn Flakes or frosted flakes.
Rice Krispies is my favorite. I'll eat a huge bowl of them for a snack, too.
Kix is also a banger.
And you can't go wrong with Cheerios.
Most of my favorite stuff is the less sugary ones.
I don't eat cereal but my favorite is honey nut Cheerios
Cocoa Pebbles hands down as far as most delicious drinkable milk at the bottom of the bowl. 👍🤣
They're crazy. Reese's is the best one.
Jolly:
*Brits Try Everything at the Texas Rodeo*
Reeses Puffs are tier1 with cocoa pebbles.
And CTC
That Cap'n Crunch they tried was the blandest that brand has to offer. I think Cap'n Crunch's Crunch Berries is best and most popular. And Cap'n Crunch's Opps All Berries is too much. Similar to Trix and Froot Loops.
I went Milk-first ONE time by accident when I was a kid and it has scarred me my entire life I will never do it again
Fruity Cereals are the fucking bombbbbb but Reeses Puff is by far my favorite cereal
This video shocked me
Trix and Froot Loops is my favorite ones I also like Reese
My favorite fruit flavored cereal was Donkey Kong Jr. It had fruit shapes including banana. I don’t think they made it for very long but I wish they would bring it back.
As a native American i don't even like Trix. Taste good at first but then the cereal texture gets gummy
Just curious why being a Native American has any impact on whether or not you like Trix?
I find their lack of enthusiasm for Reese’s Puffs disturbing 😅 Reese’s Puffs are god tier
No Cap'n crunch is not cinnamon lol but it does tear up your mouth I like the berry one better
Yeah original Cap’n Crunch is corn and oat based cereal
I don't like Trix or Froot Loops, bit if I had to choose one of them, I'd go with Trix.
Applejacks and Honey Nut Cheerios
I love fruity pebbles
I like froot loops better than trix but both are pretty artificial (however i think you guys forget ALL of our food is filled with artificial shit lol like LITERALLY ALL OF IT lol even our “healthy foods”) i prefer cinnamon life it is less artificial to me but Cinnamon Toast Crunch is still a really good one. We have so many other ones i hope they do part 2! Edit: Reese puffs are better when they are soggy lol
But the English will never get me Lucky Charms (tm).
I knew it, the Trix and Fruit Loop fans have been faking it this whole time. That stuff always tasted like cardboard.
fruity pebbles are elite
Most ppl ik hate froot loops
Lucky Charms is gross.
Trix is gross.
Froot Loops is one of my favorite snack cereals, and I'm not into fruity stuff. Though I would even say I don't like them.. we've got a weird relationship.
Captain Crunch slaps.
I've never been into Cinnamon Toast Crunch
Peese's, I've never really been into until pretty recently.
None of these I would ever eat for breakfast. They are all snacks.
I love my Cheerios and Rice Krispies for breakfast.
Sweet breakfast is pretty normal in America.
WHO TF POURS MILK FIRST 💀
I loved Cap'n Crunch with Crunchberries, Quisp, Quake (both the same as Cap'n Crunch but differently shaped), Franken Berry, Reese's Puffs, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, raisin bran, shredded wheat topped with lots of sugar, Kellogg's Sugar Frosted Flakes, Apple Jacks, Coca Pebbles, Rice Chex with lots of sugar, Rice Crispies the same way; and hot oatmeal, topped with plenty of brown sugar (or maple syrup) and cinnamon, cooled down with cold milk. I wasn't a fan of Froot Loops, Trix, or Fruity Pebbles, and didn't eat Lucky Charms often (not sweet enough), or Peanut Butter Cap'n Crunch very often. I only ate Count Chocula or Boo Berry occasionally. Cheerios just wasn't sweet enough.
Now, I eat Franken Berry, one box a year when it comes out at Halloween (as a kid, though, it was released year-round, but no longer), Cinnamon Toast Crunch when I'm ignoring my health, and some other childhood favorites under that caveat as well, but most of the time, when I'm paying attention to being diabetic, either hot oatmeal, Cheerios, raisin bran, or Shredded Wheat 'n' Bran, with no added sugar and usually, unsweetened almond (or soy) milk.
I love chocolate and peanut butter but Reese’s Puffs is repulsive 🤢
Reeses candies are awesome. Reeses cereal is awful.
Brand name alone gets those bought.
Trix is hands down one of the worst cereals created. I hated it as a kid and i still hate it
Apple Jacks ?
What - you’ve never heard of Apple Jacks or what?
Serve middle schoolers cereals aimed at four to seven year olds.... And then wonder.
A little sad they didn't like any of the fruity cereals, always enjoyed them as a kid. Obviously a bit artificial and maybe because we grew up on them here and you (seemingly) don't have anything like that in the UK, different palates and cultural tastes I guess...
Why are these guys all dressed up? Did they just come from church?
I think most schools in Britain have a school uniform.
Everything is new to you, Luka… 🙄
No nutritional value whatsoever.
