Hello Michael, I love this video. I just came across it for the first time. I love adding the shortcut to the lock screen one but can you change the icon so I know which shortcut is which app rather than 4 shortcuts that look the same. The shortcut icon I made is different on the shortcut app but not on the lock screen. Thank you.
How do I get the actual shutdown app icon on my iPhone home page? I used the link in the description and it gave me the Siri vocal option to shutdown and that works. I like that too.
In the short cut, click on the i button at the bottom, its bellow where it says search for apps and actions. Then click on add to home screen.

I have created an “open app” shortcut as shown and it is in the shortcut app however when I attempt to add this to my homepage it is not showing?
Hi Michael, I posted a comment/question last night but have another one (sorry). I added another shortcut in my shortcut app to open a different app but when I go to add the shortcut to the lock screen it looks the same and both shortcut icons on lock screen open the same app (the first one I added). How do your 4 widgets open 4 different apps. They are correct and work on the shortcut app but not on lock screen. I have an old phone but its up to date on latest iOS version.Thanks again

There is a "Set Silence Unknown Callers" action in the shortcuts app. Set it to "toggle" instead of "turn" in order to change it each time.

I was able to get the Restart shortcut on my screen but not the Shut Down shortcut.

When modifying a shortcut, click on its name. A menu will open with several options, choose "Add to Home Screen". From there you can tap on the icon to change it if you want. Then, just click on the "Add" button in the top right and it'll add it onto your home screen.

You run very fast..how you select a specific self created shortcut?? On the lockscreen I can't select anything but the icon of the 'shortcut app' itself instead of the ones created 🤷♂
After you select the shortcut app, you’ll see it created on your screen! After this, long click on it, then edit widget ! Here you’ll be able to select which action you want! Also, if you just want an icon for the Lock Screen! Do this: from shortcuts app, select the Lock Screen shortcut, edit it, and on the top where you see it’s name you have drop down! You can rename, choose icon and Add to Home Screen! Hope this is useful

Good video, but I’m also having trouble getting Lock Screen shortcuts to work. Long press doesn’t give me the edit menu.
Worked it out. Add icon and whilst the Add Widget screen is still up, short tap the icon. That’ll bring you the list of shortcuts to choose. If you close the Add Widgets screen and short tap the icon, nothing happens
Where can I find the “links” to the Shutdown and Restart shortcut apps for the Home Screen? I find your videos extremely informative and helpful but you have a tendency to fly through the tutorials and not all of us have either the familiarity with iPhone or the prowess in which you perform these tasks. Thanks! Nevermind, I eventually figured it out.

@@johnnybeep1209 just tap on the shortcut icon, which has been added to Lock Screen, and then it will show shortcut options, in this drop down list select the shortcut which you require on Lock Screen.

- Please, s l o w down when at the demo part of the video. :-)
- Also, the option to add an app to the lock screen widget does not work for some reason. Triple checked and all I see is an Apple Music widget. Which I think, maybe, Apple included? maybe I added it at one point months ago, dunno, don't remember. Anyhow, no matter what I do, I can't seem to add more. I just want to add Safari (the one I can't get to show up in that option and, oh, I made it, it works, but can't get it to show up to add it in that final part of the process). I am on latest iOS updated version on an XR but, I have had many lock screen widgets for a while and change them as I need them or find which ones I need there.
I really want to add an app I use to predict migraine attacks. So I will have Safari, WeatherX, maybe Apple Music, and another one TBD.

I understand the restart shortcut, but why the fuck do I need a shut down shortcut?
It's faster than just holding on the "on/off" button for 5 seconds
