- Some who know the officers involved in the Tyre Nichols case say at least one confirmed that he - and we are hearing several others - were with the new SCORPION Unit that MPD created in 2021 as a solution to fight crime. One man says the same SCORPION Unit stopped him on January 3, four days before Nichols was pulled over.

I admit it’s very tough being an officer, they do the jobs that we don’t want to do and go places we don’t want to- I appreciate the good cops that stand up for the citizens and communities that they patrol, but it’s a very thin line between duty and insanity that can be easily crossed and in this situation they crossed it.
Everybody in that department knew what they were doing. I guarantee if you look up their records, you'd see a long list of complaints.

The police chief said in an interview that other officers on the force are under review for similar conduct, and someone in a comment section said one of the guy’s on the scorpion unit has a track record for misconduct.

I saw something where Tyre was seeing one of the cops’ ex gf at work. Just sad. This is why I always avoid cops anywhere I am if I can. The Milwaukee Police Dept created the Tactical Squad in 1968. It was 100 hand picked men , all white, who were tough fighters. They rode 3 to an unmarked car. They beat a man to death in 1981. 2 officers got fired, one served 30 days in jail.

They would keep cash that people had. They would target people coming from the check cashing places and take their legally earned money.

Adams county in Denver did the same thing to me because supposedly I was in a "bad area" and they were trying to fight the war on drugs. I wasn't doing nothing except sitting there eating an apple expanada in my truck when 4 or 5 officers showed up and pulled me out of my truck and threw me on the ground. I tried filing a complaint but nothing came of that either. She ran the REDDOG Unit in Atlanta (run every drug dealer out of georgia. Just like they say, they all were too inexperienced to be apart of that unit. I think CJ Davis with those hideous eyebrows put them in that unit because of their size, height and weight. They were big dudes

I used to live in Memphis, the Scorpion has been around since the mid 90's. This is fact. I'm not sure why everyone is saying that its newly formed. I remember seeing those badges on some officers' shoulders. I remember them well.
Unfortunate as this horrific incident was, this young man ran and was caught up to at the right spot. Underneath that camera pole. Otherwise, we may have never known what "truly" happened at this so called "traffic" stop...
I do not support the police, however I hope all the cops that murdered Tyre Nichols sue the Memphis Police Department. They were trained to attack and brutalize citizens. They are just on short end of the stick. The high end also need to rot in jail.
