I rotate my body the same way when I do split squats! Like literally everything Brian does during splits squats, I DO. Except that I’m only 5’3” This was so helpful!

Eugene I love your content!! This was great.
Plus you show and mentioned active hamstring stretching which my coach literally just told me to add that into my workout for hamstrings. Will definitely try that banded toe touch you showed at the end.
Plus the workout you did was 45min for legs! That’s perfect. Liked hearing that. Short and effective

I had sore knees and weak quads. Interestingly I added Leg Ext as warm up 2x a week and Hack squats as main set. My hams were more rehab type movements. 2 months later and no pain

I think this is the solution to my new knee issues. Never had them before but I've been doing a great, very heavy glute focused program and have been focusing a ton on driving through my heels to really feel the glutes working for most of my lower excersizes. I had to take a 2 week break from the gym for life reasons but in that time my knees began to hurt only when I go to sit on a chair or get up from the chair, so any light squatting motion in the midrange only, where the quad tendons meet the top of the patella. I am young and have been strength training for years but this knee pain was unexpected, especially during a rest period when I didn't feel/experience any injury at the gym or DOMS at the time. Going to try this when heading back to the gym this weekend 👋 🇨🇦

Anecdotally obviously, I had great success using KOT programs after a meniscus tear last year. I still require surgery, but using the methods outline I was back faster after injury and my knees and ankles feel more stable overall. After my surgery I’ll use some of the exercises with Physio to get back to full strength. You can get most of the info from his IG, but a couple months of the programming was worth the cost for me. Hope that helps

Eugene, in this situation, would you also say that barefoot shoes with a wide toe box would also be beneficial for him? I find it so difficult to help my friends improve their sqauts or deadlifts when in my opinion the first step is simply take those stupid running shoes off! How do you handle this with clients who refuse to hear about their running shoes being bad for their form and knees?

I keep getting pain on the two muscles above my knee cap, left leg on the inside front is painful. Seems to want to give way on squats, even going up stairs after. Never damaged it although I do Muay Thai. Can usually bruise and cut my legs and not know where the marks have come from. This does hurt though.
Doubled in size after a week bending at work.

Box jumps are one of the most enjoyable exercises that I perform due to the break from weight lifting, being bodyweight, and the improvement in functional athleticism. However, they can cause knee pain for me on the dismount, which tends to be a jump back down to keep rhythm on 32-36 inch jumps. I try to land mid-sole, slow down, and on jumps 36+ sorta push off the box with my hands to reduce the distance. Previously, I had not had knee pain in another gym, despite the floor conditions being similar. It may be bc I weighed less then and was in the better shape that I am working toward now. Do you generally recommend box jumps? If so, could you do video on how to perform them, exercises to improve lift, reducing knee pain etc.?

I always see people at the gym doing foam rolling, taking a long pole and doing twists, and all kinds of other warm ups and stretches while my nephew and I just jump right into whatever it is we're doing for the day. We're in and out inside 30-45 minutes while these guys/gals are typically only starting after about 30 minutes. Such a massive time sink. When I hear people say they spend 2 hours in the gym and I ask them what they do they always talk about these extensive warm up routines which take up a quarter to half the time.
As far as driving from your mid foot, I've found that barefoot shoes (I use Skinners), help tremendously and actually give me better stability.

Regular barbell squat with lacking mobility and flexibility is fcking alot of peoples knees up over time. I don't really BB squat anymore, and my legs are bigger than ever. I squatted 405 for 10 at 200 bw but always felt my knees were irritated - EVEN THO i had flawless technique - till I stopped bb squatting, then progress began and my legs grew ALOT faster. I do RDL too tho. Not sure I will be squatting reguarly again haha, wasted years on that exercise and I am no powerlifter .. just want growth.

What are your thoughts on the bench add on leg extension and curls? The better machines that everyone uses use cables so they are the same tension through the whole movement. I work out in my basement so all I have is the bench add on one for my ironmaster bench. Is it still a fairly good exercise even though most tension is at the end? I've had knee issues for a while that have been generally improving and I feel like just strengthening the knee tendon itself will help.

Great vid, thank you again. I wonder if his knee pain doesn't come down to his weight in combination with his job occupation. I'll bet if he wasn't as big that it would be easier to pull off his wrestling moves without as much stress on his knees. Yeah, I know, not being as big isn't ideal for a pro wrestler....but it might be a better compromise versus an earlier career ending if his knee pain gets worse.

    • @coacheugeneteo
      @coacheugeneteo  Рік тому +2

THere'd absolutely be many factors contributing to it, and his weight and high impact work would definitely be included in that. It's tricky to say what the best course of action is though as plenty of pros larger than him and across other sports DON'T have knee pain - so it's highly likely that effective training can be a good solution

Heya Eugene, I have a question. I’ve been doing something Similar to your Banded Compression Forward Curls. Is there any precedent for Flexibility Gains through potentiating the agonist muscle with heavy sets then loading against the stretch ? Like the Feet Elevated Seated Pancake Stretch after RDL’s, Seated Good Mornings and Jefferson Curls ?
Finally finished off by multiple-partner-assisted pancake stretches at the very end to ease into max pancake flatness ? Or is it an accident waiting to happen and I’m just not there yet ? I’ve been seeing really good results in flexibility week to week, but I’m yet to injure myself so… wondering if there’s any info on it.

And also we dont have to keep increasing load to achieve progressive overload. We can progressive overload in many way.

Can you do one for elbow pain and shoulder. My elbows started hurting 2 weeks ago out of nowhere, I did not injure myself at gym. I've been lifting for 15 years and never felt this also some shoulder pain I have no idea why or where it came from but have been limited for past two weeks. I did start taking kratom around that time but stopped raking it and pain still there it's very discomforting and annoying since can't lift heavy like I was.
