We need a stream where all the boys play with Roccos toys and act out little stories.
I fully agree. We had the anime figure panel that was great.
Peak content. A figure update for the gods
shawn looks like he would low key have the best time doing this, derek we already know how hes gonna be lol
Uh excuse me?? They’re FIGURES
Excuse me sir they are figurines not some child's play thing 🤓
you guys have been firing on all cylinders lately, it is so great to see that even in your 20th year of Mega64 you guys are still so excited and creatively fulfilled. amazing podcast, miss you Derrick.
I love Shawn's stories when he wanders off in a random city 💛
I love it when the boys discuss relatable, awkward moments and situations. Some of the best podcast moments come from them
Internet soldier reporting in
Insane people, cops, and Shawn being way too nice to his own good. Another classic Shawn story holy shit.
I love the way shawn tells stories man lol. worth the wait
As a fellow action figure collector, theres nothing better than watching everyone busting rocco's balls over his purchases
08:28 - Shawn's life-risking story of love conquering all.
I wanted to be a good father like Shawn one day. But then I found out he let the violent drunk guy back into the arena.
Man this was an all time Podcast. Such good stories.
Another Amazing Shawn story
When I was 16 I saw Lamb of God live at a venue in Richmond, their home town. There were two other bands opening for them and periodically throughout the first two band's sets Randy Blythe, the Lamb of God lead singer, kept coming out during their sets and each time he was progressively more drunk than the last time. By the time Lamb of God took the stage he was near black out wasted and could barely perform. When they started their set Randy showed up 5 minutes after the rest of the band did with a bottle of vodka and proceeded to pour the entire bottle out onto the crowd and I got SOAKED. I had to explain to my parents why 16 year old me was coming home from a concert absolutely reeking of vodka. It was one of the worst experiences I've ever had going to a show and put me off live shows for quite awhile. The first two bands were great and it was a good time when Randy wasn't stumbling out onto the stage in the middle of their set. I still love that era of Lamb of God but it definitely changed my opinion of metal music just a bit. You always hear about the partying aspect of it but to get to the point where you are ruining an entire show that people payed good money for was insane to see.
If we're talking about _earlier_ Lamb of God. I was at a huge festival, right up against the front barriers when the vocalist split the crowd in half down the middle and asked for a "wall of death". I turned my ass around to see like a football field's worth of space open up behind me and I was just like "nope" before both sides charged at each other. Probably cool af when you're a teen, but back then _and now,_ to me... (one of the) stupidest thing(s) I've ever seen, people getting involuntarily dragged into a giant moving crowd and trampled.
Shawn is genuinely the best part of the podcast consistently. His stories are amazing
My Parasocial Relationship is back!!!
I think this episode might be the record for the amount of times themesong is said before the actual theme song is played.
I’ve been in Plato’s cave-the images are WHAT?!
I'm at the Tally Hall concert. Off to the side by some stuff covered with with tarps. I like to keep my distance, especially at packed concerts. Half way through the show they ask everyone to sit on the floor. I'll just crouch up against this tarp thing off to the side, no one will notice me. Entire band walks into the crowd and pulls off the tarp revealing instruments for an acoustic set performed on the floor. I somehow ended up in the very front. Nightmare scenario. I had to sit! It was gross. My knees were at the shoes of the lead singer, and it was a crazy experience seeing a show from underneath a person.
I feel for rocco with the getting on the ground shit at concerts. That happened to me at a Fidlar show. They told everyone to get on the ground in the pit and my body hurt from moshing and it was so fucking stupid and gross. I told myself i am never seeing that band live again and stopped listening to them all together
Shawn needs to learn to never help anyone he doesn't know
shawn saved that man from going to jail lmao
Shawn getting into a situation that's way over his head by being too nice is the epitome of Shawn.
I've never experienced the 'get down on the ground' thing at a concert or a show.
Miss you Derrick :(
Rest in peace
@@seand5942 Rest in peace Chewbacca my friend.
do you guys ever think about the fact that just on a purely statistically level, with the amount of fans you've interacted with, its a near impossibility that you haven't personally interacted with a murderer at this point?
one time, i was letting my dog out to shit at 5 am, barely even awake and obviously going back to bed after that. Our uncle who we hadnt seen in ten years was visiting and says 'oh youre up' and shoves his phone in my face and goes 'look at this proposal video!!!!' and then gets upset I dont recognize his nephew or whoever the fuck it was . I guess I was supposed to start crying happy tears over how beautiful it was
So glad to see the podcast back again these last few weeks! I moved away (from the US to Europe) early this year, and have been slowly starting to establish a new life in a new place with my wife. It's been a kinda slowwwwww and draining process, but with both of the recent podcasts, playing them has like... lifted me. I dunno if it was homesickness in a way exactly, but it's definitely a comfort to have something all familiar and casual and entertaining as the Mega64cast going on the background of my day again. Love it
Keep it up, everyone! Positive Vibes!
To Shawn's defense, nobody is pronouncing "Tsushima" right. The T isn't silent. In words with "tsu" (つ), there's actually a tiny T sound in front. It was baffling to me at first, and I still biff it occasionally and I've been living in Japan for years. Yes, everyone elsewhere also pronounces Tsunami as "Sunami", but not over here. Little T in there. It's obviously easier after a vowel, like in "Hatsune". There is a separate other sound "su" (す) without the T.
I saw that your channel was live and was happy to have another episode of the podcast to enjoy again finally! I was watching EVO all weekend so I didn't tune in live, this is my favourite youtube podcast.
Shawn has the best stories
Shawn begging for the podcast to end is my favourite bit that isn't actually a bit but a genuine plea
I don’t mind Derrick being gone but the lack of what is going on and why he’s never there anymore gives me so much anxiety. Lol
Busy with side projects/ personal life. Not a biggie, he'll be back
@@mr.expositionyerp
He's Lord Divius'ing his time between this project and others
If Derrick doesn’t come back soon I’m going to throw up
Yeah dude I want to hear from my boy Derrick conspiracy theories Acosta the balance to the left wing shit from Sean not that Sean is a nefarious lefty or something he's a father just a way too nice guy that probably doesn't want to believe the world is actually as evil as it is unfortunately.
Love the boys, God bless them all!
@@dsprockswhat?
@@dsprocks mega64 is pro labor and pro indie scene. Thats pretty left wing. Left/right isn't a distinction between if you are mean or swear or not. Lol
@dsprocks what?
@@dsprocks The orange creep has been indicted more times than you've had sex.
Not only during EVO finals, but also EVO Day! Wooooo!
EVO was incredible!
God Kevin would just not stop talking over Derrick all night, barely even heard him!
Yeah SDCC was such a bummer. Finally got to see you guys live but left after the fire alarm in the confusion - didn't realize people snuck back in and the show resumed...
I don't mind people interjecting in my conversation because maybe they just want to socialize or be helpful by giving me information they think I don't know (even if I do, the thought is nice at least), but when they dont let up after they've said their initial piece and keep making smalltalk after I want to die
I was at the Tim Heidecker show (got to say hi to Garrett and Kevin for a second after, thanks for that) but yeah the chairs were so close together, there was NOWHERE for me to get down below sitting. I definitely felt like band Tim had mismatched expectations with his audience. The standup and the dissection of "Lenny Bruce" were excellent, but yeah as much as I love Vic Berger and Tim, and I could see how talented the rest of the band was, it just wasn't the kind of stuff I'm into, and I had the feeling most of the crowd was in the same position.
i know its heavier stuff, but devin townsend always reminds me of mega64 in the sense that he just.. does what he likes, what he finds funny and entertaining, just like you guys do. let the fans come to you. dude has a whole heavy metal album about an alien coming to earth for the ultimate cup of coffee. it goes off the rails in the best way, but you can tell he loved what he was doing just like you guys do when you make the sweded vids or something like that!
and i loved hearing about all the concert talk
"Young Chris Pratt is weird but young Aubrey plaza is not" 😂
i thought shawn wouldn't wear a cap anymore!!!! liars!!!!!!!!
Good lord that new theme song/video, is new to me. Oh man.
All we want is confirmation that the book isn't happening
NOW THAT'S A TITLE! OH YEAH
Missing Derrick!
Nah
I've only been to one show when a band asked us to get on the ground. It was the Hives, but to be honest I kinda loved it because they are such a ridiculous, high energy band that demanding everyone have a little sit down all of a sudden (SRO club), and then telling us all to jump in the air as high as we can was a lot of fun. If it was any other group I would've refused, but the Hives earned it because they put on an amazing show. They wore tuxedos and top hats, their roadies were dressed as ninjas. The least we could do was have a seat, which actually gave the audience a break from jumping around anyway.
3:28 some Godfather lighting for tad there
30:13 even as a airplane movie why would you watch that rocco
so excited for the vancouver show, fare well mega 64
I was at that Gorillaz show up in the seats and remember seeing Rocco & Johnny post about being there too. I was like "oh shit, I wonder if I'll see them." I shit you not, when that moment happened in clint eastwood i immediately saw them like "oh shit there they are" lol. No one in the seats did it btw haha
Hello
Edit: awesome to hear Shawn’s O game story. Wooo Maryland
What the fuck, I feel like you just walked into the dusty warehouse basement of my mind and pulled out Renetto, I haven't thought about him in I don't even know how long
Shawn on Tuesday when you edit this can you add the rest of the podcast to it, thanks.
New eva shirt confirms they are working on rebuild in five minutes
Y'all remember Renetto's "Tube it!" song?
Holy shit Oakhurst mention. I used to live there when I was kid.
Probably in the expat minority but I live in Tokyo and would absolutely come to see a show if you guys got lost here sometime.
I can see Shawn being in that guy’s situation knowing Shawn.
I’m glad Shaun got the real Baltimore experience
He almost found out why it's called Bodymore Murderland
No derrick this episode? Hes probably at home gettin' his drink on!
GREAT episode
Can you guys talk about some video games next podcast? It's been a crazy year for gaming
It has?
Nah.
I'm surprised they only had one legitimate Zelda discussion so far. Thought it was something they would keep bringing up with how hype they all were beforehand.
what's D-dog REALLY doing??
Holy shit new themesong!
Kramer? He ain't goin' be in Seinfeld 3
damn.... yall gotta bring back that gamergurlz shirt. damm................................
Spicetanic was my Barbenheimer
Rocco is on to something, something similar happened to me when I was dragged to church when I was younger. Everyone was asked to stand and I'm not standing and it happens like every time. What's the deal?
Legendary Shawn story
Okay guys when the podcast ends get down on the ground....NOW!!!
I legit thought Sean said "my pod race hat" as in Star Wars pod racing not "padres" as in the baseball team 😂 I don't watch, know anything about, or care about baseball at all, it's an incredibly boring sport moreso than golf somehow.
I’d like everyone in the comments to get on the floor!
what is Shawn's ransomware shirt?
Classic Kevin Closeup
Best theme song / intro
Rocco the Schizophonics did that at a concert I went to last year too lol
yea
Oh hell YEAHHUH! 🍻
shawn come to a mariners t mobile stadium game in seattle! best MLB stadium in the world !
"Get all the way on the ground" sounds like a humiliation ritual to me. Satanists.
34:57 THANK YOU GARRET! I still can't tell if Tim Heidecker singing is supposed to be funny or not (same with his political takes)
1:33:00 he got poochie'd
funny enough I actually saw Taboo solo, at a club here in China a couple of years back! He was pretending to be a dj with his own set and I might have been the only person who knew who he was lmao
1:00:25 😂
Derrick free podcasts are so much easier to listen to.
More dbz or dbs?
Derrick MIA 😮
What are we saying farewell to?
Derrick
mmm shit
ohhhh yeaaahh
The new tmnt movie looks like total garbage. I'd much rather watch the Michael Bay movies.
I've been to sooo many concerts recently where they make everyone get down on the ground and also peer pressure the audience to single out the ones not obeying. Nothing to do with making the show fun and everything to do with drilling the crowd with commands. The same shit happened with masking and 2 meters rules during covid. Follow the rules and shun/abuse those not listening. We even had skindred in the UK stop the show and give a 20 min rant about how evil trump was and made everyone chant "fuck trump" for about 5 mins straight. At that point I tuned out and left.
That is insane
Johnny is kinda funny but he's the worst producer mega64 has ever had
Congrats on all the Japanese recognition!
