    It's great to see so many companies jumping on to making enclosures for their diode lasers. Great video!

    I love the enclosure on this laser but alas I just purchased the XTool D1, Just waiting for it to arrive. But I also have the We Creat and I love it the little I've used it, but I finally got my order of boards delivered today.

    How safe is it? Is the enclosure rated to ANSI Z136.1 standards? What is the OD rating?

    Seems the trend for future machines is defined. WOnders how long the 300$ lasers will still be allowed and available.

      The speed that the diodes have changed is pretty wild. They seem to be on parallel tracks as 3D printing.

    Great video! I'm looking to cut embroidered patches on twill fabric.
    But the Falcon website says Fabric can be engraved but NOT cut. I find that surprizing. I was hoping to get away with the 22W one, but now I am hesitating the entire project. I was excited about Diode lasers as the size of the work area is much larger than any desktop CO2. But now I am worried, I could not find any people using it for twill patches so your input is greatly appreciated.
    Below is copied from the website"
    Diode laser cuttable: paper, wood, leather, MDF, felt, some dark opaque acrylic
    Diode laser engravable: Paper, Wood, Leather, MDF, Stairless steel, Some dark opaque acrylic, Bamboo, Fabric, Dark

    I own the F2P as well and I'm a bit saddened by the inability to raise the z-height on this unit, despite being promoted on Creality's own listing page. I suggest anyone looking into this printer be VERY cautious. You're paying a lot of money for a supposedly versatile tool. If you think someday you might use a rotary tool on this thing -- you probably won't. The tray CANNOT be removed to extend the legs so you can fit a rotary. The device uses a magnetic switch to detect when it's removed, and shuts off the laser. So just be aware that you are basically buying a $300 CNC laser with a $20 lid on it and a PC case fan to vent it.

    If you are planning "doing a breakdown of Creality, Roly, and xTool soon" can you also include the new "iKier K1 Pro Max 70W Combo please"?
    It also comes with an enclosure and breaks the 40w barrier you mentioned.

    Does anyone have one of these as I have a question please, the falcon 2 has a button on the top of the module to switch the laser from 40w to 20w for a smaller beam to engrave, does the falcon 2 pro have the same feature ? I can see in the video it has the button on the top but no review I have watched mentions it, Many thanks

    Could you share de model reference of the 1.6 module ? Creality told me it's the module that can be adapted on a 3d printer but not its reference.
    I would also like to know how it's wired to the frame so if you can share the wiring on frame and module side it would be nice !
    Thanks !

    Use what you have where you’re at . Stop thinking the next tool is going to help. I get sent countless products but when it comes down to it , you need to actually make something, please believe in yourself more than some snake oil tool.

    • @makeorbreakshop
      @makeorbreakshop  6 місяців тому

      Totally agree it's really easy to spend time thinking more about the tool then what you are going to make with it. My goal is give people to best overview of the tool options out there before they make a purchase and then tutorials and tips on how to actually use it.

    • @hacklabdesign
      @hacklabdesign 6 місяців тому

       @makeorbreakshop You did great, my comment was directed towards someone on the fence feeling desperate for a simple solution that does not exist or maybe gets the tools and its a dust collector bc of Analysis Paralysis , TiKTok, lack of motivation or skills. I'm not innocent and I'm guilty of promoting products for money. Thinking of changing ways. Consider this a complement to your thumbnail and video impression strategy.

    So you have to engrave leatherette patches on sheet first with small watt laser and then swap to 40 watt laser to cut? How it would know the registration after swapping heads? So it not off?

    • @makeorbreakshop
      @makeorbreakshop  6 місяців тому +1

      You could still engrave with the 40W and get good results depending on the detail of the cut. But if you do need to switch you'll still be good. Between switching the heads you would home the machine with the limit switches and then start the next cut/engrave.

  • @disignscdn
    @disignscdn 6 місяців тому

    Thanks for the video! Very informative and it looks like a very nice machine with a lot of thought put in to it. Curious as to why they would only offer a 1.5 watt laser for regular engraving? Standard seems to be 5.5 to 10 watt now. A 1.5 watt seems way to slow for my liking. How many lasers are integrated in to their 40 watt laser? Again, great video! :)

    • @makeorbreakshop
      @makeorbreakshop  6 місяців тому +1

      I would guess the 1.5W vs 5.5 to 10 is a cost savings thing. And if you are going to step down to get the finest engraving possible the smaller you go the better, but you're right you will lose out on some speed. Normal laser diodes are around 5W so this would have 8. Some machine will also have the option to turn on and off half the diodes in the laser head itself, so effectively giving you a 40 and a 20W option at the same time.

    Not laser friendly at all I need help! I want to know which laser would be best for me to use for cutting sublimation blanks out. The glow for just too expensive for me. I’ve looked at the Xtool M1 and two others they have. What’s the most reasonable priced for for the best results?

      Forge

    • @camshand
      @camshand 6 місяців тому +1

      The xTool M1 has a blade cutter like a circuit machine which is much more suitable for sublimation transfers.
      Lasers can't be used on many plastics and materials it'll create toxic gas. So using a blade cutter for sublimation transfer materials would be best

    • @makeorbreakshop
      @makeorbreakshop  6 місяців тому

      @camshand nailed it. For sublimation transfers you'll need to stick with a blade cutter, the xTool M1 is a great choice since it also has a laser as well. But you could also get away with a straight vinyl cutter like a Cricuit.

      Brother also make similar cutting machines to Cricuit. Best to look at specs and reviews, and check availability of what you will need for consumables.

      Do you mean the AI video that showed how you could use it to generate images or ideas to laser engrave? I think there is a difference between chasing money and playing around with new technology to see what it can do.
      As far as the review stuff I’m not claiming to be an expert, my goal is always to create the types of videos I would want when I go to research something to buy. Now I have been doing this since 2017, and would argue I’ve had more hands on experience reviewing laser engravers and cnc’s than your average Joe. But as always if these videos aren’t for you, then don’t watch them.
