  • This video takes an advanced-level analysis of the game between #2 Purdue vs #11 Gonzaga at the Maui Invitational. This breakdown is specifically looking at the ballscreens that were set by both teams, and the reads that were made (or missed) based off the ballscreen coverage.
In this game, there were almost 74 possessions where a ballscreen was set, which equaled half of the total possessions in the game. Ballscreens are the way of the future in basketball, and it's important to understand as many coverages and reads as possible.

Breaking down a game like this is such a skill and the way you teach it so smoothly is wildly impressive and makes it easy to understand. Thank uou

Great content. Will be subscribing for sure. I want to make similar videos to break down trainable qualities within the game. What program do you use for these “labels” when the video pauses and you’re trying to highlight specific actions?

Glad you enjoyed the content, and best of luck creating your own. I use a program called Klipdraw for all of my video animations. Let me know if there’s more I can do to help.

I've heard/seen the cleared side ballscreen reffered to as "Empty ballscreen" as well. The Warriors used it a ton to create iso situations for Kevin Durant

Yep, empty is a common term as well. I’ve also heard it called “open”. The warriors got a lot of mileage out of it for sure!
