I was making a silly mistake of not discarding the first video after saving it. Please discard the first one after you've added text and start a new project, then add the second video without the text and voila! It's done. I hope I'm making sense.

Please discard the first video incase you're not discarding it. The video without text goes on the video with text but you've to start a new project after saving the first one. Hope this helps.
