The one honourable mention that you should've included - in my opinion - is Juan Mata to Chelsea in 2011/12. Not saying he was a better signing than the one you chose, but he deserved a mention. Otherwise the list was brilliant!
Premier League’s best signing of 2022/23 is no doubt Erling Haaland the easiest player to pick since Cristiano Ronaldo and Thierry Henry who the other 2 players who’s names just jump out at you when look at the players list of transfers made for each year
I’d argue Diaz has taken Liverpool to another level though. Ramsdale has been very good, but honestly he seems to be as error prone as Leno, an improvement but nothing massive. Yes Cancelo was a touch over 60 million, but the deal also included Danilo going to Juventus for around 30 million. Taking that into consideration, Bowen isn’t all that much cheaper
For me, Philippe Coutinho is really unlucky to miss out. He had such a huge impact on our club when playing, scoring screamers here and there, and then leaving for an astonishingly huge fee, giving us the funds to buy players such as Salah, Vvd, Mane and so on. However, it is hard to go against a signing as good as Eden Hazard, but I think Coutinho is very close
Not disputing that there are bound to be some inconsistencies, but my logic for picking Kanté was primarily because of his role in Leicester winning the title, which I don't think would have been possible without him. Can totally understand arguments in favour of Suarez in 10-11 and KDB in 15-16 though.
Because Kante at Leicester achieved something that is unprecedented. Unheard of and dismissed as impossible. De Bruyne was already Bundesliga POTY and commanded a huge fee. Kante was unknown before the move, and his impact was instant.
@@HITCSevens Thanks for the reply. Coming to think off it, fair enough. It isn't really that exaggerating to chose Kante as i believed it to be the first time i heard it...
It wasn't just the fact that Eric Cantona was such a great signing for Man United it was they bought him for a ridiculously cheap transfer fee which makes him the biggest bargain of all time i still don't understand to this day why Leeds were so willing to let him go and for such a low price as well.

If Alfie redoes this video in 10 years Ødegaard or Ramsdale might take the 21/22 spot, but for now Diaz has apparently impressed him more
@@minnumseerrund that's the thing. Odegaard HAS had an immediate impact. He's been arguably the best player on a team who're probably going to finish top 4
Small gripe but one I had to mention nonetheless as a Liverpool fan: when you said Alisson had close to no competition in 18/19 I would definitely say an honourable mention had to go to Fabinho, Imo since Fernandinho has aged and been less involved, Fabinho is the best DM in the league.
I accept I’m rather biased here, but I genuinely think Joao Moutinho deserves a mention for 2018/19. £5m was an absolute steal and we are a worse team without him.
30 Signings. Only 9 clubs. Not sure why I'm surprised, not quite as interesting as the worst players list, purely because it's a little more predictable, knowing the eras when certain teams were dominant. To be fair, Zaha and Bowen came as a surprise to me, since I'd guessed only 7 clubs would be included (The big 6 + Leicester for Kante)
should do best/worst players who went from the English league to the spl Scottish league, for example joey Barton roy keane robbie keane Patrick roberts etc
Agree with many of these, and Kante probably deserves the back-to-back honours. However, if it's value for money you're going for, how about Andy Robertson? £8m from Hull City to Liverpool, and was a vital part of the Premier League & Champions League winning teams, amongst all the other silverware. Was heading towards the Championship & literally won the lot.
Thank you for great content as always, could you do a video covering the world Cup Qualifiers, it would be closer to the actual event be could you keep it in mind
I definitely think cancelo should be ahead of Bowen, because he’s become world class on either side, and he didn’t cost us 60 million it was a swap deal with money added on that apparently didn’t even total to 60 million. It’s a very underrated and exceptional piece of business. Also Rodri deserves a shout too.
I think some Chelsea players were criminally overlooked by you Alfie. The fact that Costa finished behind the most average player ever which is Wilfried Zaha and the fact that for you Hazard is only narrowly ahead of Coutinho is ridiculous to say the least. But the overall video is great

@@tristanbass-krueger7195 Martinelli has been really good for the first half of this season. Let’s see if he can keep it up before we crown him as #1
@@Sproles11 Was great last season too, altho fair enough I suppose Bowen was more prolific. I have no doubt that Martinelli will prove it.
He never made the big time at Liverpool
He was so greedy sometimes. But then again, the team was shit 😂
Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole are friends, you’re thinking about Andy Cole and Teddy Sheringham who dislike each other.
Bloody hate eachother haha
Well said Fella
Great list and well backed up reasons for the decisions, I do like how you included who you were deciding between for most seasons.
This list does show the Brilliance of Wenger and Fergie......they nailed MOST of their signings
Nice that you got David Brooks in the pics at the start, good job 👏
"Who de heck is that feckin langer Brooks?" is a one thing would Keano defo say. 😁
"It's hard to underestimate Roy Keane's impact" I mean how could you when you're probably laying on the pitch with your leg snapped in half 😂😂
Honestly this channel is the best!!
Video idea: Middle East XI
Is Egypt in the Middle East?
Dennis Bergkamp is the greatest signing of anything, ever.
No no no Cristiank Ronaldo is
Theirry Henry
@@BenjaminButton6573 shut up
Pascal Cygan
No, it's Lord Harry Maguire
Taking Silva over Suarez for "longevityu" but Leicester Kante over De Bruyne doesn't make sense for the same reason.
Longevity* :) But agreed, not taking KDB is wtf.
@@HITCSevens cheers for replying and cheers for all your great content!
@@HITCSevens Thanks for the reply. Coming to think off it, fair enough. It isn't really that exaggerating to chose Kante as i believed it to be the first time i heard it...
I'm super early so I might as well congratulate you for the quality of the content you produce on this channel. Keep up with the great work !!!
Alfie, how about a list of 7 unrealised potential in the PL due to injury? Players like Abou Diaby and Ledley King or even Dean Ashton.
Alex oxlade chamberlain
Great shout!
Jack Wilshere.
De bruyne and kante...honestly that must be one of the hardest decisions
I mean you kinda forgot about the ginger from Sweden. Cost less than Diaz and has had more goal contributions. And is younger as well.
It wasn't just the fact that Eric Cantona was such a great signing for Man United it was they bought him for a ridiculously cheap transfer fee which makes him the biggest bargain of all time i still don't understand to this day why Leeds were so willing to let him go and for such a low price as well.
Nobody wanted Cantona. The only reason Leeds had him was because nobody in France wanted him, despite his successes. He was a world class dick.
SAF himself said Schmeichel was the best bargain he ever made. 500.000£ for a (future) Euro Cup winning goalie isnt bad
Cantona is one of my all time favorites, but dude was pretty hard to handle. Maybe that was why
@@rwalker0130 Or needed handling in the right way. Alex Ferguson did, Howard Wilkinson struggled despite him helping Leeds to the final Div 1 title. Cantona might like Kante be the best signing in 2 successive top-flight seasons.
Hi Alfie. I was wondering can you make a video about Dinamo Tbilisi it's the biggest club in my country and since I really enjoy you're videos just had to ask
Good to see Sylvain Distin given proper recognition. One of Harry Redknapp's great signings at Portsmouth as well. And we got him on a free after his Man City contract ended! Didn't always catch the eye because he was simply so good and solid. Sylvain Distin, magnifique.
Video Idea: "Most successful loanee ever". As in most titles won and biggest impact as loaned player. ideally over multiple loan spells. Thoughts?
Yorke and Cole were mates Alfie ,it was Cole and Sheringham who had beef , excellent content again though
This channel has took over hitc sport now madness
2014 should be sanchez
I agree with everything except with Salah one. The true change in Liverpool was noticed when Virgil Van Djik was signed by the club, he lifted the rest of the defence therefore even team when he started playing. That is atleast my opinion and I am an United supporter
27:30 Two gems in 13/14, Fernandinho is an obvious pick but Eriksen was a brilliant signing for Spurs. Bony? Good, that's true, but he was no Eriksen.
Not even a honorable mention for Odegaard!? C'mon Alfie, Cheap, Young, Impactful, and a quality player, all the things you valued in this list
He has arsenal agenda
No
@@lordbendtner6404 Arsenal agenda but having so many Arsenal players in the earlier parts of this video despite having so much competition with United??
Gotta remember that some of the signings on this list were only the best signing of the season in hindsight. Ronaldo didnt have an immediate impact and was outshined by Rooney for a few years.
I really think this list is spot on and so to are the justifications.👌
Day 258: Indonesia XI If All Eligible Players Had Declared For Them.
Keep dreaming bocah
Love your videos Alfie! also love to see a 'X countries best ever 7 players'
You really compared Coutinho at liverpool to Hazard at chelsea? WHAT
Bergkamp is the best signing in every season. Absolute filth. He was unreal.
2012/13 got no mention of Swansea legend Michu:/
I accept I’m rather biased here, but I genuinely think Joao Moutinho deserves a mention for 2018/19. £5m was an absolute steal and we are a worse team without him.
I think people forget just how ridiculous Yaya Toure was at City
The drinkwater slander never ends with this guy! Hahahahahaha. He always gets it in somewhere. I love it. Great Video.
When in doubt always go with N'Golo Kante, love the man which is hard on me because I am not a Chelsea supporter.
Not even a mention of Romero to Spurs? Looks to be a world class cb in the making whilst only being 24
Nostalgia merchant
30 Signings.
Only 9 clubs.
Not sure why I'm surprised, not quite as interesting as the worst players list, purely because it's a little more predictable, knowing the eras when certain teams were dominant.
To be fair, Zaha and Bowen came as a surprise to me, since I'd guessed only 7 clubs would be included (The big 6 + Leicester for Kante)
Luis Diaz doesn't age well tho
Douglas Luiz from City to Villa is an outstanding bit of business
RIP Tiote
should do best/worst players who went from the English league to the spl Scottish league, for example joey Barton roy keane robbie keane Patrick roberts etc
14:36 Thanks Alfie, I had a hard time distinguishing which one is CR
Yorke and Cole got on really well off the pitch…did ya mean Sheringham?
I think some Chelsea players were criminally overlooked by you Alfie. The fact that Costa finished behind the most average player ever which is Wilfried Zaha and the fact that for you Hazard is only narrowly ahead of Coutinho is ridiculous to say the least. But the overall video is great
Zaha is world class.. If he play for barca or Madrid he score 50 goals in every season
My mom was crazy over Ljungberg modelling Clavin Klein briefs I remember ^^
Good video, but Fernando Torres to Liverpool didn't even get an honourable mention?!
Well said Alfie
Mentioning Kante for both years 😂💯
Peter Schmeichel?
Best German players in the premier league of all time. (Day 319)
I will not give up until the video is made or Alfie himself tells me to stop. Everyone else telling me that will be ignored.
If you don't believe my number, just go back to the previous videos. I'm at the bottom most of the time, but I'm there.
Pascal chimbonda 20005/6. Unknown, cheap, quality, team of the season and good transfer fee received from a big club. Honorable mention I would think. ????
Number 1, Right on spot. The rest Fully agreed. Thank you very much. Next May be The Best Home Groomed Players would be excellent
great vid!
Bowen over Bruno
And cancelo ?
Lmoa u tripping
I tought Cole didn't get on with Sheringham if he didn't get on with Yorke I don't think they be In a picture together
Yeah it's teddy and cole who don't get on at all
@@jhaych Yeah was thinking that
@@Irishrover101 you should know, I'm sure you shared a dressing room with them.. 😉
@@jhaych LOL 😆 yeah I'm a different o shea lol. And I support Liverpool. I just respect united players back then like Keane he set standards today's players haven't a clue to do. I saw 30 years of basic silverware so I understand how United see there team thus year I never seen a bad Liverpool team lose games the way United current team lose its a disgrace Sunday league players would give more
The hate for Liverpool is so obvious 😂😂
Just your average friendly Swede here to point out "Ljungberg" is pronounced more like "Yungberj" than "Lunberg"
What did tomiyasu cost? Compared to output? Seriously though great vid and can't totally disagree with any of em. Nice yet again Alfie!
Pretty sure Coley and Yorke had a great friendship off the pitch and it was Sheringham and Coley that had the off field issues?
Loving the content as always Alfie!
You would be spot on Bro ……..
Man did you just pick fernandinho over ozil and zaha over alexis sanchez? Huh?
And bowen over Bruno fernandes?
Hi alfie, consider this idea please : 7 greatest peaks of players who went on to have rather disappointing careers. You can decide whether you wanna do it just for the prem or for Europe in general.
An extremely so fantastic in the 1990's and early 2000's signings indeed and ever, good friends!!!:-D
Sol Campbell 2001-02.
Spurs' golden boy moving across to their north London rival on a free transfer, won the PL in his first season and then won it again in 2003-04 as an Invincible at WHITE HARTE LANE, deserved at least an honourable mention.
I don’t fully agree with Sheringham 97-98, but I can live with it. I missed Petit and Overmars as honorable mentions, though.
Old video yes, but just wanted to say that Mané was signed in 16/17. A season before Salah.
