  • We took a vacation from our vacation and went back to Centara Grand Beach Resort and Villas in Ao Nang Krabi, Thailand. Meghan and I came here in 2018 for our honeymoon, and since then we've talked about bringing our kids here one day. Well today we did just that! We love this place. The service is excellent, the scenery is breathtaking, and you just can't stop looking around in amazement of all the greenery and limestone cliffs.

    We are The Traveling Texans- Matt and Meghan, our kids Ryan and Heidi, and my cousin Christy! We live in New Braunfels, TX and are creating content sharing our adventures of living abroad for one year. We had a house fire in 2021 that destroyed everything we own, but did not destroy our home. What I mean by that is our home is where we are together, not our house.
    This trip will afford us the time together we do not always get due to work, daycare, and hectic evenings and weekends. It will allow us to slow down and enjoy being together, being with our kids during these formative and fun years.
    I am a realtor in New Braunfels and have my UA-cam Channel, Living in New Braunfels TX (bit.ly/3cVNBMV), which I will maintain and manage my team remotely. So it will not ALL be fun and games.

    Fantastic and thorough video, was on the fence with this hotel and another but think I'm going to book here. Love the setting and the easy access through monkey trail to the main part of Ao Nang.

    This resort is stunning! I am highly considering it but the only drawback I have is the beach, it looks a little murky. Is the beach always like that or was it only like that during this time of the year?

      It was better the first time we were there, that was in April

    Hii does the hotel include transfers from the airport or do we have to book that separately? Also if we were to go for any island tours can we book them at the hotel?

      I’m sorry I’m just seeing your comment! Yes, you can arrange airport transfer to the pier with the hotel. And yes, you can book tours at the hotel.

    Hey man, awesome video! I have just booked to go to this same hotel after watching your video.. can I ask, is there any car parking nearby? We have rented a car and will need somewhere to park. Let me know I would really appreciate it

      Awesome! Honestly I’m not sure. We never drove in Thailand, and the two times we’ve been to the resort we had a ride. There’s a car park at the entrance to the monkey trail if you packed light, but I’m not sure of the overnight parking situation.
      I’d reach out to the hotel to see what they recommend.

    I went to the hotel years ago while parts of the hotel was still under construction.

    Hey... Thanks for showing the insides of the resort. I have booked this as well.
    Quick question though: how easy or difficult is to go out of resort for lunch/dinner or exploring around in general?

    • @TheTravelingTexans
      @TheTravelingTexans  Рік тому

      It’s pretty simple! You can freely go through the monkey trail to get into Ao Nang. Or you can use the boat to the pier, this just requires you to book times there and back with the booking desk. From the pier you just take a tuk tuk into town, should only be 100 baht or so.

      Thanks for your reply.. I am not sure if i got it completely. What do you mean when u say "monkey trails"? Also like are there any restaurants or clubs near by walking for enjoying the night life??

    • @TheTravelingTexans
      @TheTravelingTexans  Рік тому

      The money trail is a trail to the left of the resort (if you’re looking at it from the beach). It’s a series of steps that takes about 10 minutes to walk. All the restaurants and clubs will be on the main road in Ao Nang. The resort is not next to anything else, but that’s one of its draws.

    • @SumitJain92
      @SumitJain92 Рік тому

      So basically everything is 10 mins walk away?

    • @TheTravelingTexans
      @TheTravelingTexans  Рік тому

      It’s 10 minutes to get through the monkey trail, from there you still need to walk to the beach road. You should look at Google maps and get oriented. This resort is a little secluded from the nightlife of Ao Nang, that’s what’s nice about it.

    How was the food? Honestly. Good value?

      @TheTravelingTexans  Рік тому

      Hi Shelley! The food is really good, especially breakfast. You can expect to pay more on property for food though. But overall the hotel stay is a good value. We stayed here in 2018 and paid almost double per night then.

    how about speedboat transfer ??is it free or charges are there n how much

    • @TheTravelingTexans
      @TheTravelingTexans  Рік тому +1

      The boat transfer we took at the beginning of the video is free to guests. They’ll take you there when you first arrive, then any other rides you have to schedule.

    Love this resort but as someone with balance issues I don't think it's suitable for me. Just looking at that 'floating' pier gave me the heebiejeebies ;-) I saw other videos about this resort but never with such huge waves.

      You can access it through the monkey trail too, just know it’s a lot of steps. It wasn’t that crazy when we left.

      We were there in August, and it was the rainy season. It didn’t rain all day, but it rained a little almost every day.
