      I like his lessons about building assets, in whatever ways you can, with whatever you have. He doesn't have ownership, but he has control. I only took one introductory accounting class more than 20 years ago, but I think control of something allows a person, accounting-wise, to count it as an asset...it's in their use and direction. Now, for sleeping in a beastly old truck or a cold, waterless, heaterless RV, I think that part is more about the psychology of obtaining something better for oneself, at least something different...I don't know...I really like what things I've seen with Grant. I'm not going to appreciably improve my situation if I don't stop making excuses and don't start trying new things (you don't get different output by repeating the same input).

    I got a homeless 64 old woman staying at my business parking lot. The police would wake her all hours of the night and run her off, even when she slept at her place of employment (she works at 5am unloading delivery trucks) now in my lot nobody bothers her. She told me she has been homeless for 5 years in north Ohio.

      Why arent u thinking outside the box and reach out in the community for helpful resources to take her from homeless to managing life then to knowing she has a better future and easier for her. That small act would start a ripple effect in your community of greatness and kindness your kindness could boil over to her to do something outstanding for someone else and it just keep going and going instead of seeing her there day after day and night after night freezing and being homeless.

Similiar way of thinking Grant has not realizing how none of this would've been achieved had it not been for a damn camera crew following him around, yet preaching that anyone can do this..

Here's a challenge: pay some dorks to follow you around with a camera and pull off the same shit. Use his exact playbook and see if you make a million dollar business. You can even use what he shows you. I dare ya.

      @@johngarcia8827 Right.... and Grant talks about it. It hurt him in many cases and many conversations were done off camera without that because it hurt and raised suspicions. What you are missing is that he still build a successful business out of nothing and without using his name. If you work all year to make 65k, why not buy some camera equipment and "stage" the whole thing just like Grant and go get your money? You won't. You could but you won't cause you're more interested in justifying your own lack of drive. Also Grant started from nothing well before doing this show and is now a billionaire. I learned something from Grant in the first episode. I knew it was important to focus on goals but Grant took it too a whole other level. He put $100 in the bank- to add some street cred, but also said he does not not want to play the money management game, otherwise the UNIVERSE will read Grant as being more worried about how he is going to spend/ manage the $100 dollars than fulling his goals, and will create conditions so that grant will have to worry more, and not conditions that support his goals. BAM! Smacked me in the forehead!
    The key is to give up 'worry' anxiety over money completely so that those attention units can be directed at achieving our goals. (Mush have a goal.) But don't be in conflict. Notice Grant was not in conflict with his worry. He was honest. He said, "I'm terrified" which externalizes his anticipation and anxiety about the unknown and unfamiliar, allowing him to own it, take responsibility for it. Now he can get about the business of 'creating' something his mind is set on.

      He is there to meet a challenge. If things don't go his way he could still suffer the consequences. Think of this similar to the survival shows. Many of them have money and all the material things they are accustomed too, but take them away and see what happens. He has to play by the rules. He might not even be allowed to have access to a credit card during this show. So he is kind of on his own unless there is an emergency then the film crew will intervene.

      @LiveHappy76 Місяць тому +1

      What con? He literally was role-playing, THAT con we have to waive...or don't even watch a single episode of this series. That con is ground rule. So NOW that assuming an out-of-town man with $100, truck and phone...now what? It's okay to ask things and to offer trades...he asked about doing anything in the RV park first. Not needed. He said he needs a place to sleep and wants to bring his family...accepting a bed without utilities...I don't see con there, either. Now the jeep...his offer is use of it to sell it (and I have to relisten for other details I missed...I assume something like he would take a commission) under limited daily miles of use. He's getting use BEFORE it gets sold, but his selling it is his purchase for this. Again, I see no cons. RICH people USE OTHER people's things (money and assets) to make money...no crime, no con when transparent, etc. Why do you call it a con? I don't see your view but am trying to see your view. Please explain something I may be missing.

    I agree with Stearns on *_"enjoying the process."_* Even if you have a high tolerance to discomfort or pain, by holding the spiritual attitude of gratitude for everything -- even pain -- you help yourself overcome the bad effects of pain. This is not easy, but this is part of the same principle which allows an athlete to achieve excellence. And it more than merely endorphins. The spiritual aspect helps to optimize the biochemistry, but also for you to rise above becoming a cog in the machine of physical reality. Even *_Buddha_* knew about this! As did Christ!

    I love your content, Grant. I recently decided to leave my corporate career to pursue sharing a wearable light therapy technology which takes us about one-third the way of reversing human aging. Professional direct sales is out of my comfort zone; however - it’s better than being trapped and this is a true, “stupid if I don’t,” product so I couldn’t ignore it. - Stephanie Sailer
