Does the Master Flow always have to have a manual button trigger, most of our flows are triggered on a schedule ? Couldn't the same be achieved by sending a HTTP request to the 'child' flow and therefore removing the need for a manual button trigger ?

Yes - both manual button trigger and HTTP request options work, but for citizen devs a manual button could be easier to configure.
I dont get the child flow option at all!!
What child flow option? You can't select a child from from the drop down? Or can't you find the action?
