I like getting a more personal look at the players but I feel like the way these guys asked these questions was kinda weird. Would have been better to have a much longer interview that was more of a conversation to warm each other up a bit first.

Unlike many of the commenters, this Bruins fan is not picking on Mitch, but listening to him reminded me of something: Why do so many young NHLers start their answers to questions with the word "yes?" Has anyone else noticed this? Jake DeBrusk does it constantly.
It's almost like slang in hockey. It sounds better than "ummm, uhhh."
It also acknowledges what the interviewer asked while giving the interviewee a chance to formulate a response.
@@-Subtle- That would be ironic, since 99% of hockey players give cliched or non-answer answers to questions. They rival politicians for most boring interview subjects.

I’ve been a Leaf fan and watched almost every game for 35 years. Mitch is a good player but he makes too much money against the cap. His next deal can’t be over 10 mill and yet no player of his calibre is gonna take a pay cut in the prime of their career. Dubas was a good GM but he really set the franchise back with some of the big contracts he signed.
Have a great season, Mitch. Bring home the Cup! Go Leafs Go!

@@bill3851 partially due to the contract, but I forgave him for that because he had a really good year. It’s mostly that he just doesn’t perform in the playoffs and in his exit interview he acted like he couldn’t care less

Erik Karlsson is being shopped around by the Sharks. His $11.5 M AAV is a big deterrent to most playoff contenders up against the salary cap.
He’s older than Morgan Rielly however, offensive wise, he’s a lot better and defensively, he’s better than Rielly who’s almost making $8 M AAV. If Kyle Dubas throws in Nylander’s $7 M AAV and Bunting, such a trade will actually leave the Leafs with $5 M+ to spend elsewhere to better their odds of finally winning Round 1 of the playoffs. The Leafs of course will not deal Rielly whom the fans consider a Leaf for life.
