We often praise S Jaishankar sir for his smart, practical and real replies we forget that we also have members who are in the background and designing our foreign policy.. I guess ORF is doing a great job in letting the world know truth.. and Sameer is amazing.
Excellent discussion on India (Bharat) present and future role and expectations/aspirations with mostly the Western countries of the world by Samir Saran, President of the Observer Research Foundation.
I've noticed that when channels create videos about India, they often focus on the most underdeveloped parts of cities rather than showcasing the best. Every major developed country has slum areas (or "ghettos," as they're often called).
This nis by design. Years of BBC lead propaganda and video production has shapped other news media also. As a country India needs to have counter narratives in a forceful manner showcasing it's good side.
I think we should take it in our stride - accept there is an issue and work on it. Yes they hype it up, but might as well accept that it is a fact that the west will portray to bring India down till we don't fix it
Then Indians should do the same . I mean we have the largest number of internet users and huge unemployed youths . Think about how much propaganda and truth we can bring to any country's doorsteps .
@@mrking6259 Yes we should. Show the goods train robberies in US, the homeless slums of California, the ghettos of Belgium. Yes we can definitely do that. But there is no point trying to tell the West to stop showing our drawbacks. They have a perception of India and how they are better off - showing India in bad light just keeps this alive for them.
India by far is the most consequential partner for the US in the current geopolitical landscape. Strategic reasons, diaspora links and shared democratic values can explain this closeness and warmth in bilateral relationship. Some thorns and differences remain on trade, environment, khalistan, Bangladesh and human rights situation in both nations. But DC and New Delhi has shown that they can navigate such issues with continuous dialogue and responsible diplomacy. There is also bipartisan support in the US for stronger bilateral relationship with India. The bilateral relationship has been firewalled to quite an extent from domestic politics and change of guard.
when he was talking about india, they intentionally showed video of places in india that are underdeveloped. shows how much they hate india growing and not bending the knee to western hegemony.
The last question, If Indian govt exercised its interest in the US and got caught; It's very likely that India has done the similar in Canada given the fact that the five shares their intelligence... The difference in the approach of Indian govt and media towards US and Canada about the presence of separatist in both the countries is of day and night. The separatist(terrorists according to India) were given refuge in the US and Canada, which India do not like and try to justify itself of taking these actions but India is not talking about exercising its interest from behind in foreign countries, which is against and threat to the Sovereignty of US and Canada.
Canada has become a rogue out-rightly terrorist supporting country. Canada would lose out big if continues to pursue its hostility towards interests of sovereignty of India and her rising stature in the world.
This Taiwanese reporter didn’t ask even a single question abt India Taiwan relationship.. rather trying to grill Mr.Saran on left liberal talking points.. strange
There’s no such thing called chemistry in geopolitics, yes leaders can have personal relationships but that won’t change national interest of any country!! So India should foresee its national interest and work accordingly presidents come and go the administration remains the same
After Biden pardoned... of all things, his son... his son? I've got little faith in the impartiality of US politics at the moment. Trump will sort a lot of his own family matters, like all others.
With Trump in power Taiwan should be very worried .... Even more so now as China has learnt a lot from the Russia Ukraine war .... As far as India is concerned Trump's gonna put tariffs on India's exports which is what will hurt a growing economy like India .... So it's a bad bad news for both Taiwan and India in general .... I don't know what BJP and Sameer Saran are so optimistic about ! .... Next four years gonna be filled with ups and downs ! .... So get ready for the ride .... Love, from India 🙏 🇮🇳 🇹🇼 ....
Lol 🤣🤣 The one who r most afraid r the Chinese Don't worry abt India , we need investments and tech from west and US . Our export won't be hurt BTW much BcoZ we anyway don't export much. Worst hit will be EU mainly Germans, china Japs Koreans etc. Indian services export will remain and grow as there is no substitute for it. INDIA Biggest need is investment and tech for Our own market and people to upgrade their life with newere product and capacity. Chinese model is to subdue local consumption and keep dumping . Let see how much they will dump. Last Trump govt whatever small time he got due to COVID were the Best for indo US relation . It will again be best . And it will be Win Win for india and American nation and masses. Chinese US relation has been good for 1% top of US people and worst for rest 99% masses. This is era of RISE OF OBC/WORKING CLASSES. OBC PM of india and OBC president of US will regain control of their nations and give power to the working classes again . Era of brahmin-Bolsheviks is OVER .
Laying out the welcome mat for investments is not begging just good business from a business minded PM. As for begging you only need to look at Pakistan with their begging bowl for handouts.

True. Samir at times says things that perhaps it would be impolitic for SJS to say. Govt's viewpoint is being conveyed thru various non govt channels.
@Samir at his best ❤🫡… speaking of Bharat

always pleasure to listen Samir...bold and clear statement.s...
A country's strength is measured by her resolve. Samir seems to have confirmed India's resolve to be a mover on the world stage.

They can’t help it. My daughter lives in Taiwan and she sends videos of localities that look like Dharavi

Samir is brilliant in his succinct style of analysis and commentary. Very watchable!
Woah Samir went whole ballistic in this interview 😮 loved each and every answer, especially his answer to the EU and their hypocrisy
Looks like Samir is adopting Jaishankar's speaking style!!😂

Samir coming off as unnecessarily aggressive here, and seems to misrepresent the interviewers questions at times

Tariffs will increase on India but more so on China. Also now US Embassy will act more like an Embassy and not as an NGO.

Your family's traditions should be kept only to yourself, don't bring it to the world thinking the world follows them @biggpicture2930

True. We should not expect others to help us out. Build your own capacity.

Investments are a two-way street. It helps the companies who invests as well along with the host nation.
Who is this man? Amazing control on word flow & good vocabulary. I agree with most of the points he made.👍
