Lovely so this masterpiece got a remake on the Wii? Never knew that until now :) thank you very much for uploading this video. I always felt there will be a sequel to Phalanx .... it was hidden among Wii games.
Nah, the OST is a remix of the X68000 original. SNES is the port with new music, the remake here is based off of the X68000 version with elements of SNES and GBA mechanics in.
Because this wasn't a Wiiware game originally. It was originally released on a Japan-only computer (Sharp X68000) and was later ported to the SNES and GBA. The SNES/GBA ports are a bit different from the original though.
I remember playing this game and seeing an old random guy on the cartridge picture

*banjo playing intensifies*
Yoooo! This is like a remix to the SNES version!
A shame they didn't make the pilot an old farmer like the one on the SNES label.
@@jeremyriley1238 Oh? I didn't know Japan had to deal with *that* cover too.
Severe lack of old man beards and banjos
music is so good
0/10, no banjo-playing old man

We need this version's soundtrack....
How did this find a way to sound worse than the SNES version? 🤔

It feels like this was a delayed SNES title or maybe early PSX title. For something like this to be released on Wii feels out of place.
