Billy "Bass" Nelson - a GREAT bassist. Billy and Eddie Hazel were very close friends. They played together in Plainfield before they played with George. They were as close as "brothers". Billy and George had to ask Eddies mother to allow him to go on tour with them, Eddie was then only 17. This track is a beautiful tribute to Eddie. Very well done Billy Nelson and R.I.P. Eddie Hazel.
yes it is ! I seen Eddie play a few times and I am a big fan.He kinda reminded me of HENDRIX A lot. I am also from north jersey ,about 45 minutes north of plainfield.
Billy Bass and I go all the way back to the PROJECTS of Plainfield. We are F A M I L Y!!!!! like no other. This touches the very fiber of my soul. He's always had this ability to go there!

Never heard this until this morning! Wow.... Anointing of GOD Almighty! Powerful! I was a Parliament/Funkadelic/Bootsy/George Clinton Fan, from way back! How did I miss this! Ooooh! 💯🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💃🏽💕🎸🎸🎸🎶🎼🎵 I keep playing this over and over! ☺️
I remember finding this on CD in Germany in 94 along with the P-Funk guitar armies tribute to Jimi Hendrix. I must have played this track a million times & hearing it now makes me want to play it a million times more. Still getting goose bumps from it in 2019.
no it does not ! I had the extreme pleasure to see Eddie Hazel play his ass off a couple of times before he went on to be where he is now! YES I DID SEE HIM PLAY MAGGOT BRAIN LIKE NO ONE ELSE WILL EVER PLAY IT, I am also from New Jersey, about maybe about 45 minutes to one hour away from Plainsfield !!!
Man I remembered when George brought out D. Blackbird McKnight and Jeff Bunn to do Never Buy A Texas with the Brides and hearing this brought it all back to life.
Epic! It definitely has Maggot Brain lineage. When you dedicate a composition to one of the greatest guitar legends in music history, it better be on point. 'Smeero' would definitely be pleased.
Yeah, he sure would !! I have seen Eddie a couple of times in New Jersey and New York . as a matter of fact I grew up in New Jersey just about an hour from Plainsfield ,give a take!! Yeah Billy Bass Nelson sure nuff is still on the one!!! Yeah!!!
WHAT!! You think I don't? May not be Eddie, but whoever this is is a true disciple of The Funk. I used to run like this on my guitar in high school to impress girls. But to organize it into a song andf give it a meaning...MY LAWD! God bless whoever did it
hey dude could you tell me where i can find something about his discography and whre i can download this cd ? i have a blog and i want to write about it... thanks for your time
Rather it’s Spacey T or Bird McKnight’s it definitely a more updated more refined resembles of maggot brain.I don’t think it’s Eddie Hazel playing, though it’ a cool jam regardless. Billy”Bass”Nelson and Ramon”Tiki”Fulwood held down a tight ass rhythm session.
No it's not eddie this is spacey t who learned all of eddies riffs and was his biggest fan Tracey and eddie first played together on bonnie pointer album Spacey t said he recorded cassette volumes if eddie jamming chit for hours He also.said he recorded a unreleased album for motown with eddie- billy- Ollie finch- and sly stone
If this doesn’t touch your SOUL. Turn in your FUNK CARD.

2 dislikes, your soul is dark if you ain't feeling this son!
sounds a lot like "Maggot Brain".
+Ron DayVoo totally! Who's playing guitar on it then??
that's the point
Spacey t on guitar
Sounds like Eddie on the track...Sad to say it's not. Billy Bass was an original member of Funkadelic in the early 70's.
this sounds like Eddie just before he died

Sure I will because it not Eddie Hazl. Not even close to the same feel or tone. Great on his own, but it's not Eddie
