benvanop with no professional marathon, one professional half marathon, 2 western states wins, 3 time JFK 50 champ and more, im confused as to how he’s a road runner. Yes he’s had success on flatter ultras but they’re all trails and very different than road, but flat and road can be different things.
@@joshschwam9060 cool thanks for that breakdown, they write this script in three languages though so just cut them some slack. I'm not spending any more of my day on this topic - have a good one.

yeah, I personally think the commentators of Golden Trail Series are a bit "less" educated, they don't want the to call the Western States 100 champ by his full title.
The trail running organizers need to be careful and not ignore the word "doping". We have seen this exact progression in many other sports such as cycling or rugby. You ignore the whole thing and hope for the best only to find yourself trapped in the corner because at some point most of your top athletes and ambassadors for your sport are dopers. Then, of course, you do not have any more interest in catching them, cause that would mean huge damage to your sport, sponsors might pull the plug and with that a lot of money. But ultimately it will always blow up in your face. Therefore, please, please, act now! Tackle doping now and have a sophisticated testing strategy. Athletes that are clean will be more than happy to go along with it. After all, they are getting cheated on.
Hello, Many thanks for your message, You should consult our website to see how we are active on our health policy www.goldentrailseries.com/health-policy/ For your information, the Top10 best men&women before Sierre-ZInal get a capilary control, this is the most efficient (and expensive) anti-doping control we can do to be able to know what an athlete took the past 6 months. The only constraint is that we will have the results only when we will have a free slot at the police scientific laboratory, who's taking care of crimes analyses. It could takes some times, but no one can hide anything in the hairs. Of course, as it's expensive, we are not taking the hairs at each race. Before Pikes Peak, athletes will have blood tests. And the Top5 M&W after Sierre-Zinal get an official anti-doping control from the WADA. Thanks, The GTS Team.

I totally agree with you. I can’t understand why that behaviour should be considered a positive approach...it sounds fake and it’s annoying..... by the way...Martina...such a beautiful voice..lovely! 🙈🙉🙉🤣
Please don't legitimise and promote convicted dopers by interviewing them! We need adequate funding to bring in decent testing to clean up this sport, giving dopers a platform just makes it worse.

@@tradejs The Golden Trail World Series has established, since the first edition in 2018, the strictest doping controls that can be found in a sport today. We work with 2 different independent agencies to develop a specific program dedicated to our private series. - The Quartz program takes care of all the controls before the races o One test, one month before the race, in a laboratory, and one day before the race, by the Quartz team. If the difference between the 2 tests is abnormal, there is a "no-start rule" and the athlete's name is given to the Wada for external and extra checks. Tests can be on urine / blood / saliva or hair, depending on the research Depending on the history of the athletes, the tests maybe in more complexe to analyze more substances.
In Sierre-ZInal, the top 10 athletes participating in M & W have their hair analyzed the day before the race. This is the most expensive order, but also the most interesting because you can see what has happened during the athlete’s last 6 months. The results of these hairs showed absolutely no abnormal pattern for all the athletes involved in the controls, including Maude Mathys, Elisa Desco and Petro Mamu.
- The Wada controls the Top5 M & W after the race This is an official check to ensure that no one takes any substances on the day of the race. During this control, the athletes declare the substances they use and if the athletes does not want to be caught positive by a prohibited substance, they must show a therapeutic exemption (TUE) of the substances used.
The Golden Trail World Series is a private series with private rules. So, to avoid "authorized doping", the TUE is not allowed on the series. - If an athlete is sick, it is best if the athlete stays at home to heal the sickness instead of winning a race under "TUE"… - Athletes must declare if they have a TUE during the Quartz Controls, which is compared to the Wada Control Report. - In Sierre-Zinal, it's the Swiss Olympic who came to do the controls after the finish for the Top5 M & W.
To correctly understand, if an athlete has an abnormal profile, a "no-start rule" will be applied, but a team will take care of the athlete to understand what happened, why It Happened. Information, discussion and education are essential to mentally support the athlete and avoid any abnormal analysis in the future. Protecting a sport does not mean "only" banning those who have used banned substances, but also educating them to a healthy sport without medication.
@@goldentrailseries7022 Sure, educating is important. That's not the issue with convicted dopers. How do you deal with prior convicted dopers and the gains they have accumulated through that process? If an athlete has been convicted for doping before, you should apply that "no-start rule" to them because if you think about it, by your own words that should be considered as abnormal.
