Great video, will be recommending to the forgers I know who are new to infection mapmaking. Also idk if it was your voice or the music but after that video I feel pretty damn zen.
Yes! Advice on movement is crucial; there are those few maps in matchmaking that devolve into an unfair situation where all the humans huddle up in that one room and kill all of the infected before they can reach them. Makes for stale game play in my opinion.
When forging an open field/terrain try to place natural elements in a natural chaotic fashion. Basically go by what paints said, you can do that by making various hill heights adding slopes and verticality and also use natural elements as sight blockers! have large rocks laying around and fallen trees, Add tall grass by stacking grass to make a sight blocker. Im picturing like a stream of water maybe and a river and maybe one empty building on your map with a few scattered structures, a possible cave or two ? sounds good though even if its just a plain field of trees :) ive been wanting to see an open forest map for a while now! so good luck! Another way to balance a map like that would be to use a custom gametype, shape the gametype to the map style! make humans jump lower for example and move slower ect. Theres no wrong way to make a map.
Great Job my friend.PA1NTS knows his stuff
0:38 Talking aboat movement. The Canadian rises.

Oh god Halo 4 forge triggered me
Halo 4 scarred me for life.
Yay you fixed it.
came here to say the same thing.
Very informative, keep it up
I wish there was a way to change weapons between rounds. say the sniper is on even rounds but on uneven rounds its a SPKR
You can if you're referring to weapons on map a la Gears of War. Forgehub did a tutorial on it.
hmmm i will need to find that video
Did they add new maps to the playlist yet?
Not yet
My infection map is going to be very open, in a forest. Any balancing tips for that scenario?
Create some verticality and height variation to break up the flat open sightlines.
