Equalizer Mania! Part II

- OK, so I’ve been messing with this equalizer experiment all day. A total of 15 equalizers, in series. My test was to see what the sound quality is after the audio passes through all of them. I also wanted to see what they looked like powered up at the same time.
Amazingly, the audio is quite good at the end when all devices are enabled and set to flat. This means that means that the actual, active EQ circuit is passing audio but there’s no addition or subtraction of frequencies. But there is a slight 60hz hum and ambient hiss with a slight whistling sound.
If EQ is applied anywhere through the circuit, especially multiple times, the result is extreme. So much to where I’m very careful about the speakers I’m using because it’s my understanding the extremes could damage woofers and tweeters at higher volumes.
For 30+ year old equipment, I expected to hear a significant degradation. This is not audiophile, nor would it be if no equalizers were hooked up.
If you stay watching the video, I do a walk-through of the various equalizers.
List of EQ’s:
Sansui G-E750
Akai EA-A7
Technics SH-8066
Kenwood GE-7030
Kenwood GE-1100
Kenwood KC-992
Technics SH-Z900
Technics SH-8044
Technics SH-8055
ADC SS-415X
Kenwood GE-76
BSR aeQ 14/14XR
Teac EQA-5
ADC SS-100SL
Technics SA-R430 (receiver with built in EQ)
I have three equalizers this makes me want more...
The only unit your missing is the technics GE 90 digital sound processor , wonderful collection though. 👍
Yes, I want one of those and I’m just waiting to sniper bid one at a good price
Look into the mid 80s to early 90s JVC flagship receivers. All have really cool spectrum analyzers and outstanding sound. Teac, isnt it pronounced "teek" and Technics, "tech neeks"?
*Cool* 👍👍👍👍
Oh my........... 🙂
Here is my son’s video on some analysis - check it out ua-cam.com/video/trP56JKrbZI/v-deo.htmlsi=Mtiu4-exmRT_xuYA
Might be the only song to use a motorcycle as an 'instrument'.
