The Symphony No. 6 in C major, D. 589, is a symphony by Franz Schubert composed between October 1817 and February 1818. Its first public performance was in Vienna in 1828. It is nicknamed the "Little C major" to distinguish it from his later Ninth Symphony, also in C major, which is known as "the Great."
Exploring the realm of classical music is akin to entering a museum of sound, where each musical piece is a grand work of art. The uniqueness and intricacy of classical compositions make them special and awe-inspiring.

A wonderful piece that I discovered on FM radio!
I'm just discovering Schubert. Absolutely brilliant stuff. There have been a wonderful series of paintings accompanying these symphonies too. Thank you to the uploader.
Same here, blown away by the quality!! Love them!!
Same, good music to code 😛
@@themisterolichip lol agree, i'm currently coding on a unity project :D
Man you were missing out big time!
How is journey with Schubert going on?
This is the most enjoyable recording of this symphony that I have heard! Thanks!
It seems to me that this is a particularly underrated symphony. Fantastic piece.

Without Schubert and his great performers such as this orchestra with splendid skill and breathtaking technique ,
the classical music world and our world would have been very lonely .
This performance is comfortable and soothing to the ears and the mind

Good Night
See you again🌹🌹🌹
Absolutely beautiful! One of my all time favourites... brings tears to my eyes every time I hear this wonderful piece.
even among so many warm and bouyant Schubert symphonies, this one particularly stands out for its playful lightness of heart and self-contented ease
My first time hearing this symphony, loved it the first couple of measures
Schubert + C dur = HEAVEN
Couldn’t be more right!
Definitely one of the nine best Schubert Symphonies.
714Sluggo I preferred his "Speedrock Deathmetal" period.
I agree with you!
Yes
I love 5 too
Bah
@@thisismagacountry1318 What is his "Speedrock Deathmetal" period?

Que sanadora la musica
Love it's!!
I love the beautiful paintings and the music is magical😘
Yes. I wish the uploader had identified the painting. Just love the atmospheric quality of the seashore sky here.
My favourite part: 0:16-0:30. Beautiful symphony.
perfect !
Listen this music is to understand that materialism is a madness ... Listen as the magic, beauty and tragedy have subtle and soothing voices !!
Most of life as we know it is madness. Thankfully we have music, art, literature, food and booze.
Philippe Cirse - So, tell me, what are you playing this music on. Probably your computer. Where are you playing this music. Probably your house that you probably own. Or maybe you're listening in your car? Do you see the problem with your comment?
@@warmswarm I have no problem with my comment, being myself a recognized musician of my peers :)
@@MegaCirse - Pompous little man aren't you. I've never heard of you or your music. Why is that?
While the giant, Beethoven, was building new roads, masters like Schubert and Mendelssohn, were showing us that Mozart could be brought into the Romantic vein.
Not to mention Carl Marie von Weber.
@@mr-wx3lv Yes! Weber is also so underappreciated!
A brilliant piece. Composed with phenomenal dexterity with a rare flair of transcendence.
Capolavoro 😎
Reminiscent of Beethoven and lovely.
When I first heard this, I though it was Beethoven. Then I spent ages wondering where it could have come from, because I knew all the scherzos from Beethoven's symphonies.
I do believe this may have been modelled after the one from Beethoven's Seventh; the style of both the scherzo and the trio match up pretty well.
+klop422 I came down to the comments for the scherzo question. Very much like a Beethoven scherzo & trio. Thanks.
A little too close to Beethoven in some sections!
@@klop4228 What about the Pastorale?
Good morning , Music 🎶 !
This Symphony is a fest for the ears! ... a medicine for bad days ...
One of the last symphonies in the classical period.
Forget the preponderance of adjectives and esoteric word salad - this symphony is just plain cool!
There's something about classical music videos on yt that turns everyone into an amateur poet isnt there lol
not sure why i just saw these but I like them because they sound so much like Mozart. maybe what he would have sounded like if he lived longer.
Can we talk about the background picture, anyone know the name?
Carlo Bossoli - Terracina
I seem to hear Rossini all through this opus.
Why is it called little?
oreo31598 His ninth symphony, also in C-major, is often called the "The Great".
Should be "little C major", as other symphonies are littler, at heatsink terms of time. I think
Some say this was his greatest symphony.
I doubt that anyone says this is his greatest symphony. It's his last completed symphony, also in C major called "the Great" C major Symphony to distinguish it from this earlier more modest symphony.
No words to describe 2nd and 3rd mov :-) (although here they 're somehow slow)

Small, of course, when compared to the gigantic and visionary last one. nevertheless, in line with Haydn and Mozart tradiditon, havig successfully herd Beethoven's crucial innovations and even some Italian inflexions (herd fo rom a long distance...), thiis is bt y no ways a "little" syphony, but a masterwork in a language of its own.
i like this part 2:51 then it has a minor version
19:03 :O
13:00 the symphony is playing this part a bit slow. This should be played fast , with a light step. Had to resort to extreme measures, x1.25. The sound quality is good - even at higher speed. I resumed normal speed in the next movement.
UA-cam's way of speeding up music doesn't work in the usual way of stretching waves. The pitches are kept intact.
It seems extreme to change tempo of a piece, apparently comparing the tempo to another conductor's choice on a different recording. I record Direct TV programs in order to fast forward thru commercials. But speeding the tempo to match another conductor's choice seems petty. I just enjoy different artist's performances.
How do you change the speed?
Remember, Schubert, Liszt, and Saint-Saens were rock stars of their time.
Schubert lived most of his short life in obscurity.
Not sure about "rock star" as Schubert was very little know, almost unheard of until his death in his early 30s. He also died in poverty, and was very sick for a lot of his wretched life.
III Movement has a Beethoven vibe.
I am also fascinated by the painting you chose . Can you please give information on it ?
"Little" by Schubert's standards...
No, it's just because the Symphony 9 is really great and in C major too, so this symphony is the "little" one. Otherwise all Schubert's symphony are not really long
Der 3. Satz ist aber dem der 7. Sinfonie von Beethoven 3. Satz teils sehr sehr ähnlich :-) Einflüsse Beethovens sind unverkennbar. 3. Movement is a quasi-copy or very compareable with Beethovens 7. Sinf. 3. Mvnmt.
