I remember enjoying Vespertine very much. I should do a reread. September was also a weird reading month for me. My favorite read was Realm Breaker by Victoria Aveyard. I also really enjoyed The Malevolent Seven by Sebastien De Castell. Can't wait for your review of the Black Bird Oracle. All Souls is one of my favorite series. I wish you a good reading month for October.
@marier6881 I've heard from a lot of people that felt the same way about September so you are not alone!!! I love All Souls too... I was a little worried I wouldn't remember everything since it's been a while since I read it... but it's all coming back to me 🤗
@@Maeve_Ever_Books I actually haven't heard many people talk about it either... probably cause it's not as popular as some of the other Bachman books... but I definitely liked it better than some of the other older ones 🤗
What a great wrap up! You’ve got some fun books in store for you for the readathon! I can’t wait to hear your thoughts! I have enjoyed a few Hendrix books, but I have yet to read My Best Friend’s Exorcism. Hopefully soon! lol
I haven't read anything by Leigh Bardugo or V.E. Schwab. Maybe in the new year 😊 So fun your participating in the spooky Scary skeleton reading event! 🎃
Glad you had a great month Kris! I really want to read the Familiar. I’m way behind on Bardugo in general lol. Somewhere Beyond the Sea was easily my favorite book of September. 🙂
Great wrap up and awesome picks for October! I still have yet to read any of Leigh Bardugo, but Shadow and Bone is high up there on my list. I’m hoping to read A Discovery of Witches as well; just waiting for the audio to come in through Libby. My favorite book in September probably A Court of Thorns and Roses, which wasn’t perfect, but I had fun with it: :) Hope you’re enjoying some of your books for October so far!
@bookstalgic I would selfishly recommend A Discovery of Witches over Shadow and Bone 😁 Only because Shadow and Bone is much more "YA"... but hey, sometime we all need a simple and fun story 🤗
I still need to read The Familiar 😅 OMG yesss Addie! So pleased you liked it. Gideon?! Can't wait to see what you think of it. That's a gorgeous edition of A Sorceress Comes to Call
I have rarely heard of the Scholomance outside of something to do with Dracula. I've heard The Familiar is good. Yay! My Beat Friend's Exorcism! I hope you enjoy it.
My favorite was actually a nonfiction for once. It was called Saving My Assassin and was about a woman surviving the Communist regime in Romania. So inspiring! I reread Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, which is one of my favorites of all time! “It’s cutesie, but they are murdering people.” 😂
Yay 😁 you’re joining the Readathon ❤ I absolutely love your shirt and you look amazing Kris 🙂 Let’s cheer on for an October fun reads ! My favorite book was The serpent of the wings in the night .❤
@NicolesBookishNook I think technically this is really the first read-a-thon I've ever done on UA-cam... but it's just so much fun to see what everyone is reading 🤗
So glad you loved The Familiar and Addie LaRue!! Both of those definitely have mixed reviews so it makes me happy to see someone else love them as much as I do ❤️ I really need to read more Leigh Bardugo books and want to get to the King of Scars duology! Also recently finished A Sorceress Comes to Call and really enjoyed it!! My favorite book in September was The God of the Woods (closely followed by Clytemnestra) and some books I hope to read in October include The Storied Life of AJ Fikry, Warbreaker, One Dark Window, Vampires of El Norte, and Beartown!
@LibrariesandLattes wow you are reading so many good books in October 🤩 Pretty sure I literally want to read all of those lol... but especially Warbreaker and Bear Town. I might read Bear Town in December cause I haven't read a Backman book yet this year and I always love his books 🤗
I still need to get to several of these…. Especially Addie. Speaking of King, I just started Salem’s Lot. It will probably take me two months to read it 😂
Happy Spooky Season Kris! I have not yet read Blaze. I hope you enjoy Duma Key, it was just ok for me. I wish you a happy October of reading! Grady Hendrix is not an author I am in a hurry to read,😂🎃🎃🎃
@@kellireadsalot There are some mildly steamy scenes in The Familiar... but definitely not as graphic or disturbing as some of the stuff in Ninth House 😬 But yes, definitely check your trigger warnings 🤗
