Follow detective Hercule Poirot as he tries to solve a murder on the Orient Express!
I really enjoyed this book, and would recommend listening to the audiobook version narrated by Dan Stevens, as he does a great job accenting all the characters.

Agatha Christie is absolutely brilliant! I love Murder on the orient express!
If you liked this book you would totally like The A B C Murders 😄
I really liked this review Jay!
The First Chapter Yesss I've heard The A B C Murders are good, I'll have to give them a read! Thanks ^_^
Agatha Christie always makes you think it's obvious who the criminal is but it's always someone super unexpected.
I might have squealed with joy when I got a notification for this video. I loved this book!
It's a fantastic book!
Awesome review! Looking forward to reading my copy before seeing the adaptation!
Thank you! :D Hope you enjoy it!
Recently reread this one!
A perfect book! My fave character in it is the princess Dragomiroff, what a sweet little lady she is! ;)
Definitelly watch the 1974 Sidney Lumet film, unparalleled cast and luxurious, chilly Winter atmosphere. The only unfortunate thing in it is that Poirot isn't played by Peter Ustinov, the most fantastic Poirot ever!
Hahaha oh yes, princess Dragomiroff, what a sweet old lady ;) Awesome, I'll definitely check out the 1974 film!
I found her tough
@@CapturedInWordsCheck out the 2010 version. It’s my favourite ❤️
David suchet as poirot watch that one
The best version is the 1974. Well-done and well-researched! Kudos!
I recently read this for the first time and thought it was pretty good, although I'm a pretty big Agatha Christie fan and so I don't think it's my favourite of hers!
Actually all of the movies were well done, although the 1970's movie might be a little dated now. The BBC Poirot series was fantastic, but I'm not sure i would recommend watching it before reading the books or short stories in question. Of course being a huge Christie fan, I read everything she wrote years ago, so I'm not hampered by ignorance of the source material. The new movie was good. It made some changes for updating to film and a new audience but stayed faithful to the source material. If you're a Poirot fan, I would recommend The Murder of Roger Ackroyd, since that's the book where Christie earned the title of the Queen of Mystery. At the opposite end of the spectrum is Curtain which provides the perfect ending for everyone's favourite Belgian detective.
This was such a great review!! I haven't read the book but I semi recently watched an adaptation and OoooOO THAT ENDING THOUGH. The one I watched is on Netflix! I'm pretty sure it's a show series that follows Poirot and one of the eps was for Murder on the Orient Express! It was pretty good so I'd recommend that :)
THE ENDING WAS CRAAAZZY. Yesss I wanted to watch that Poirot series! Sadly it's not on Canadian Netflix :( :( :(
3/5 review is for me. It was OK but not that great. Its a bit outdated but thats normal since it was written almost 100 years ago.
Beginning was a bit slow and confusing since we have so many characters, their names, titules, relationships and places in the train to remember, but then murder happens and it was a bit interesting. It was a real WHO DONE IT. But after 60% of the book for me it became pretty much obvious where its going and whats gonna be in the end. A bit predictible. The last 50 pages were a bit confusing again to me because we didnt see how Poaroit discovers passangers real identities etc. But ok. It was easy-fast read so it was ok experience generally.
The best film adaptation is definitely the 2010 version. It’s very engaging and has a very powerful ending. ❤❤❤
Ou great review Jay! I loved And Then There Were None when I read it about a year ago! I recently ordered this book and I'm excited to get to it:)
Thanks! :D If you loved And Then There Were None, then I'm sure you will love this one too!
Just finishedreading this myself, I was surprised by how quick and fun a read it was. I was expecting it to be longer and dryer too. I loved how it kept me guessing all the way to the end. But I definitely wanted to read the book before the movie came out in a few days. Will you be in line this weekend to see it? Perhaps the other cast member you were thinking of was William Dafoe? Or Josh Gad?
Some of my favourite of her books include The murder of Roger Acroyd (of course)) Five little pigs and Hickory Dickory Dock, you should really check those out
I will definitely have to pick this up! I have a copy of it so I will need to do that as soon as I finish the books I am currently reading! haha
AlffBooks So many books to read, so little time! XD I'm sure you'll enjoy this book once you get around to reading it :D
Captured in Words Yes! 😂 I am sure I will yes! 😂
I dunno why but i somehow felt that the ending is going to be what it is, while reading it.
I am sorry?
This book is so good! Agatha Christie is just brilliant
Agreed about not being spoiled; mysteries aren't half as fun if you've seen an adaptation already :P
Also the thumbnail is great haha
Yesss she really is brilliant!
And thanks! :)
I absolutely LOVE Agatha Christie and I’m so excited for this movie to be out! My favorite book is by far And Then There Were None though.
I finished this book early yesterday and wanted to pop back and see your review. I agree it had me guessing like mad right up until the the end. I would recommend the new film too it's beautifully shot and acted.
I have two Audible credits to spend, I'll definitely check this out! Thank you for your recommendation.
I haven't read the book but, I did watch both the 1974 and 2017 films.
Have you seen the 2010 version? It’s the best in my opinion because it has a more serious tone and has a very powerful ending.
Ah! This made me so happy! I read it back during my sophomore year of high school and absolutely adored it. I really can't wait to read it again soon. Really anticipating the new film adaption as well :)
It's such a great book! Yesss can't wait for the new film! :D
I was just checking out your channel and I saw this video; I love the thumbnail for this so much! I laughed a bit when I saw it. I'm going to watch this book after I (finally) read the book. It's been on my monthly TBRs practically since I started my channel, and the movie just came out so I really just need to read it.
Hahaha thanks! Yesss It's probably a good idea to read the book before watching the movie!
I saw the original film when it opened in the 70's. Ingrid Bergman won an Oscar for her role in the film. I like the Poriot books over Miss Marple but they are fun to read.
That's awesome! I'll have to watch the original film at some point ^_^
I never knew it was a book before. I still want to watch the upcoming new movie though. It sounds really good.
Yess it looks really good, I'm hoping to go see it soon
The movie previews got me really interested in this book! :) I'd like to pick it up before the movie comes out! I didn't realize this book has been out a long time, I just assumed it was newer, because a lot of people have been talking about it! 📚☕
I actually didn't know about the new movie adaptation until just a little while before filming this video, so I was kinda curious why so many people have recently been talking about this book. I just read it because I got it on sale on Audible, and was going on a road trip XD
The movie looks good though!
Captured in Words It sounds like it would be the perfect road trip book! :)
I have one agatha christie novel and am reading it right now! I am enjoying it soo much, so awesome and classic 😄😄
Fantasticwriters She's a fantastic mystery writer! :D
Agatha Christies' books are so many and I am such a completist (is that a word?) that I'll have to buy the whole series...I'll end up broke and on the streets eating only her stories.
Hahaha yesss there's a LOT! I'm a completionist with some things, but her books would take soooo long to get through!
Captured in Words Yeah, I know what you mean... Time is never enough when it comes to reading books. 😧 Plus that TBR pile is HUGE and it only gets bigger and bigger....the strugle is real!😛
Would you recommend reading the book first or watching the movie first?
I still haven't watched the movie myself, hopefully will sometime this month! Personally i think you should probably read the book first, because watching the movie will ruin the ending
Captured in Words Okay. I'll do that. Thanks, man. Cool videos by the way.
Thank you! :)
