I told my son at the beginning of his teenage years: you are not a mama's boy. I am raising a man, not a p***y. I taught you how to make decisions, it's up to you to make the right ones. Stand up straight, be proud of who you are and never let anyone- male or female- disrespect you and don't be disrespectful in return. Always make sure that your significant other is bringing the same 100% to the relationship when you do. Do not settle for less than you deserve but many sure you earn it. And remember, there are 2 kinds of women out there; the kind you ***k and the kind you marry, and usually it's not one in the same. Your mother will always be here when you need her, but I will not enable you. Go after what you want and be a man about it whether you get it or not.
My son just turned 16 and is smart, driven, and brave and I cannot wait to see who he will become. He will always be my son, but he will be his own man.

With all due respect, most single women cannot raise a boy to be a masculine man. I have absolute faith you did (and are doing) your best. But no matter how smart, articulate, brave, driven he is…his masculine male teaching will be “incomplete” without a responsible father in his life *daily.* Not part-time. Many women often mistake because her son develops muscles, manners, and facial hair, that makes him a “man.” *No, it does not.* A boy needs his mom from birth until 10, after that you’re inconsequential. From 10 into adulthood, boys need “Male Finishing School” from their fathers to understand how to be a _productive, industrious and valuable _*_masculine man_*_ in society._ Mama can’t teach that, try as she might. You can’t teach what isn’t biologically in your nature to understand. Just as there are certain things a single father cannot teach his daughter, requiring a mother’s intuition.
This isn’t a slight against you, as you might be the 1 out of 1000 outlier. But this culture of boys not needing their fathers but for part-time assistance or no assistance needs to end!

I’ve dealt with the manipulation, and being kept from reaching my full potential and my mom doesn’t think I have a clue on how to do anything. She thought I was on drugs when I was currently in the military. I’ve never done drugs and I had to stand up to my mom. She’s insecure and thinks I’m the one to be depended on, never again in my life. I’m happy that I’ve found a woman that’s more to my liking. I’m not afraid to call my mom out on who she is.

Brother I feel you. It’s an unfortunate case with our women. It’s just difficult and exhausting. It’s not that we hate them, we just simply don’t want to be bothered with them because we know what comes with engaging with them. The deflection, the disingenuous comments and questions, and the denial and refusal to accept the role that they played in the breakdown of the family and emasculation of men. Anytime I speak to my mother about the things I saw her do to my father as a child, she just gets defensive and tells me I’m lying. But we’re expected to be cordial and civil with them and stick our necks out for women who’ve abandoned us. However, I’m not afraid to challenge her and call out BS when I see it

You are right about genetics. Alot of NBA and NFL moms have just that in mind, when getting pregnant in marriage or as single mothers.

I see this a lot with husbands who just sit on the chair when they get home and don't participate in the tough stuff of the family. So mom creates the husband of her dreams to attend to her emotional needs through her son. I'm basically watching my boyfriend and his mom raising his children like they're married. I don't see a future where I fit in.

And these women are the main ones who says that men are no good and blah blah blah when the truth is that they cannot keep one. When a man wants to date them and they see this dynamic with their sons, it pushes them away.

I don't consider myself the queen in my son's life...I'm his mother period and that title reserved for his wife

This is worse than simple Oedipus complex, this is ALSO the archetypal devouring mother. Mothers like this are devouring their sons ability to have functional adult relationships. A good mom is important. A good mom would also encourage masculine behavior and do everything within her power to provide strong male role models even if she isnt romantic with those men. A good mom understands that none of this is about her. Once a good mom has kids its all about them, whether or not her life turned out the way she wanted.

This is an interesting link. True to point of society framing up the mom being above the father but I feel it depends on the dynamic you have with your parents. Yes some women treat their sons like a husband minus the sex and that is a problem and the kissing in the mouth is ridiculous but some of this is kind of echoing the red pill community energy . But I do respect what is being said and it is a great topic that needed to be addressed

I have a neighbor that is a son husband to his mother, they are always going out together walking around town, going shopping buying cat food feeding the stray cats across the town we live in.
The most pathetic thing i have seen in my life, dude is not very atractive but he is a good man, he finished college got a useless degree and went back home to become his mother's husband because she is living with her husband but she is not talking or doing nothing with him, she was cheating on him with other men, when we were growing up i have seen her getting dropped off by dudes a block away from the building we were living in. She was a piece of S and in her final act of depravity she turned her son into her husband. Its sick.

These relationships are becoming more prevalent, i put it down to current societal trends , in has much ,the last dacade as seen a distinct lack of trust build up between dating couples & ordinary men and women.
The close Mother/ Son relationships is very likely the only relationship each of them knows they can trust as one will not be let down by the other .
Is any wonder by mutual consent these relationships are on the rise? Personally the healthier option would be for both parties to consider entering into non related 'Age Gap ' relationships, where the bond will be as strong , minus the incest .

I don't see that much of a big deal of Kevin kissing his mother like that. It's their relationship. Yahll can't judge them if yahll don't know them. And Kevin Durant is rich. Kevin Durant is athletic. Kevin Durant is an NBA Champion. So what can we learn from this? Be like Kevin Durant. SMH. Too easy.
