- Macbeth Act 3 Summary of the Summary
Banquo is suspicious of Macbeth. He thinks Macbeth had something to do with King Duncan's murder. He keeps his ideas to himself.
King Macbeth and Banquo discuss the day's events. Banquo is going to go horse riding with his son, Fleance, and the Macbeths are hosting a banquet that evening. Macbeth says he wants to make sure that Banquo is going to be back in time for the feast.
Macbeth thinks that Banquo knows about his evil ways and the thought that Banquo is alive is driving him crazy. Macbeth meets with 2 murderers who are going to kill Banquo and Fleance that evening as they return from their horse ride.
They kill Banquo, but Fleance gets away. At the banquet, Macbeth sees the ghost of Banquo and reacting to the ghost, sounds like a crazy person in front of all the guests. Macbeth is the only one who sees the ghost. Lady Macbeth tries to keep Macbeth calm, but the appearance of Banquo's ghost is too much for Macbeth. He yells at the ghost. All the guests are dismissed from the banquet.
The thanes (generals) and lords of Scotland are all getting suspicious of Macbeth and they talk about how strange things are in Scotland.

Actually during English class we discussed about Scene 5 and wether it is important or not, and my English teacher somehow managed to make us believe it is. In this scene, Hecate who is the leader of the witches says that she will make Macbeth over confident which will lead to his death. This quote is very important when analyzing the death of Macbeth. He died due to his own complacency.
Pink Star but the play would be the same without it, besides many experts believe that Shakespeare didn’t even write this part
Pink Star the scene is only believed to be written to please the audience as the witches were popular
Thank you for the gist much needed! ❤️
The visuals help me stay focused

(srry these r my notes) 6:49
-sea of blood represents his murderous path
-he thinks turning back on his murderous path is as tedious as continuing through it
-Qs shows how ambition destroys his mental health and morality
-what are shakespeare's key messages/themes > ambition , do not kill the king
