California State is waiving the $70 processing fee if you file between July 1, 2022, till June 30th, 2023. I filed yesterday and only have to pay $5 for the certified copy.

Just a heads up for anyone interested, you will get letters from different companies (some posing as government agencies) that will indicate that you need to get a labor poster or send payment for a certificate of status. I would just disregard those. I started getting them a week after filling my llc.

Helpful video! For your IRS EIN, you don't need to wait for your Article of Incorporation, you can do it right away on the IRS website. In the LLC details section of the IRS EIN application, it asks "State/Territory where articles of organization are (or will be) filed". Just wanted to point that out so others know that they don't have to wait to apply for their EIN. Thanks again!

I don't recommend Legal Zoom. They know that the people interested in their services have minimal experience and they take advantage of that vulnerability. Their service was more difficult than just doing it myself, they constantly tried to upsell me with additional services and they filed my LLC for the wrong year.

Vanader, I just want to THANK YOU for creating and uploading these easy to watch, follow and understand videos on starting an LLC in California!! If I had had a guide like this available, I probably would have started my LLC more than 10 years ago. When you don’t know, it is VERY intimidating and overwhelming. Plus the $800 franchise fee obligation really made it seem burdensome. But I’m now learning about business grants etc. so with this helpful info I’m moving forward QUICKLY to form my LLC ASAP!
What kind of business grants ? Do they help with the annual $800 fee? I've had LLCs in other states , but there was not an annual fee.

This is very helpful. Thank you!! You mentioned that you can use a UPS store as your mailing address, but not an USPS PO box. What is the difference between that and a virtual address?
Virtual address is when you pay someone to use their address for you. So it’s very similar! Highly recommend

Easy. Form the LLC and it becomes member managed. Just like your partnership
Question from a first timer :
Upon filing an LLC> on the business physical address and mailing address section, can you really enter a UPS mailing address if they provide the option for "street address"? I would like to keep my home address private and would rather not use a third party like legalzoom and others.

I completed 95% of the process, however, on the last step after pressing the "File Now" button, on the Cart Pop Up window, the yellow button with "pay with Credit Card" doesn't do anything for Me. I wanna pay and get it done but there is no action when I press the yellow button.🤔
