@@Deweycheatumnhowe He was a fantastic big field caller and one where even when he was finished had lost none of his ability. I did hear earlier this year his commentary prowess was still in demand in the point to point sphere. What also wont have helped his removal from the roster was he gave flat commentating up and only concentrated on NH for the last 15 or so years of his career under rules. The earliest racecard I have seen his name on is one from 1972, which means he enjoyed a 40 year career under rules. Not a bad CV either, he used to co author the annual p2p yearbook, and does in running comments for the Racing Post. I once read on a forum of him leading a horse up for a race, then sprinting back up to his commentary position in the stands.... Priceless 😂😂
