I love that the video quality and talking without a script and fancy animations make it more "human". It matches your experience with the phone incredibly well.
I love this trend so much. This is what everything looked like when I was a teen. As I went through my 20s I noticed that concerts were less fun, parties were filled with people on their phones, everything lost the kind of simple intimacy that it used to have. So happy to see younger people escaping the soul sucking rectangles.
I've always been aware of how addictive phones are, but that doesn't mean I haven't become sucked into it myself. I'll be scrolling on Instagram and hate myself for doing it and I'll keep doing it. They're designed to be addictive and it definitely works!

One day I randomly had an urge to cancel my unlimited data plan and my subscription services. almost one year of having an offline music library and pretty much only using the internet when I'm at home. Makes lunch breaks terribly boring but other than that I think life is better this way. I hope more people out there pick up on this kind of living.

Hey, I'm glad to have stumbled across this video. I live in England and I've been using a Nokia 225 for the past 3 years, I switched just after finishing uni. I don't know anyone else here who uses a dumphone, so it was cool to hear your thoughts. I definitely agree with what you said about dumbphones letting you build better connections with people. I think social media and group chats kind of trick your brain into thinking you have 100s of friends - when really you just have a bunch of extremely shallow acquaintances. It was only after getting a dumbphone and having no way to stay in touch with people other than texting them directly that I had to filter all my friendships though "do I just know this person because we're in the same social circles, or would they actually want to text me regularly and meet up 1-1 in person?". And through that I realized I don't actually have dozens of friends, I probably have about 3. But I started texting those people more, started meeting up with them more, and built up a level of connection with those friends that I'd never experienced before. My friendships became more quality over quantity.

You can delete facebook, but you can't delete youtube or disable it. However, the quality is so incredibly bad that I never felt tempted to use it and so it was like it was never there
Not really to be honest. I turned it off completely and put it in a drawer. My smartphone isn't really useful anymore s I don't have a SIM so I can't text anyone or use whatsapp and I deleted all my social media a while before switching to a dumbphone, so I had no reason to use my smartphone.
You’ve removed apps you deemed toxic from your Samsung phone anyway so that issue was resolved. You can limit usage of smartphones without having to give up on convenience. If you’re concerned about data being collected, the phone you are using contains google and meta apps so your data is still being collected. Hi Toby
I dont think social media = bad. I think on the whole social media had more negative outcomes than positive. I never said I wanted to stop being on social media at all, there are parts of it that I really love and I still check Facebook, instagram and discord everyday I'm just not on it obsessively like I was when I had these apps on my phone where I could have access to them anywhere
@@theliopleurodon You are right ...I didn't mean you have said it. I thought you felt it. I am convinced social media is bad for all of us. I really do. On the other hand I als use it. Not so much in terms of "social" media but of course in terms of media. I come across your video bc I am looking in dump phones for years now. - I switched back the first time like 2013isch ... Still from day to day on it ...but as I said - more as media content ...than as social media. - I do have probably less than 5-10 communications like this per year :) ... Have fun with your way ...less is more sometimes I just saw ...you have on your channel also videos like - read the bible with me ...that is cool! I love it. And yes ...I do this as well - even online :)
@@theliopleurodon I see... sounds like no more whatsapp then. I really want to get a dumphone but having no bank apps, authenticator or whatsapp would be hard. I wish they made a hybrid phone. One that could do all that but wasn't as addictive.
Hi from Australia! Just wanted to say I’ve really enjoyed your videos. As many have said to you before, your videos are what UA-cam should be, not the endless rubbish that most channels produce. I hope things are well at Bible Study College. Maybe one day we can hear about how that is going? :). May “The Lord bless you and keep you; The Lord make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The Lord lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26)

I'm doing ministry placements at the moment but will be finished it soon. Its been a lot of academic work but It's been so great learning so much about God and learning how to use that to spread the Good News to other people
Is a phone (Nokia 6300) with Kai OS, Facebook, webbrowser and Whatsapp a dumphone? Maybe not. I have a Nokia 225 that can only text and call. It is nog getting dumber than that 🙂
im sure you dont use the phone anymore but it has twitter right? from what i see it does... i know you can use the web browser or whatever but still... its the only social media app i actually use!
how to get in touch with you? I am very similar. I want to quit all the social media (seriously, to delete the accounts) and unnecessary internet use. And I am also on my way to Christianism. And I also walk barefoot. I want to join the community of alike people. And i am ready to move anywhere right now. I would appreciate if we could talk! Thanks a lot. p.s I am not a scam or pervert.

Hi Toby
It's funny to realize that social media is bad and even switch to a dumb phone ...and as a result posting it on social media
Have fun with your way ...less is more sometimes
I just saw ...you have on your channel also videos like - read the bible with me ...that is cool! I love it. And yes ...I do this as well - even online :)
girl I wanna be ur friend 😭
Has Whatsapp stopped working on this phone?
@@hanasschoolwork4564 not sure. I have heard that KaiOS doesn't work anymore on Nokia products but I don't know for certain
@@theliopleurodon I see... sounds like no more whatsapp then. I really want to get a dumphone but having no bank apps, authenticator or whatsapp would be hard. I wish they made a hybrid phone. One that could do all that but wasn't as addictive.
Have you been able to delete UA-cam?
Спасибо за видео❤️
You're welcome :)
❤
Hi from Australia! Just wanted to say I’ve really enjoyed your videos. As many have said to you before, your videos are what UA-cam should be, not the endless rubbish that most channels produce. I hope things are well at Bible Study College. Maybe one day we can hear about how that is going? :).
May “The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.” (Numbers 6:24-26)
Hi there! Thanks for your comment
Numbers 6 is one of my all time favourite passes in the bible ♡
Bible college is going so well!
It is nog getting dumber than that 🙂
It's not really a dumbphone as it does have smart apps. It's more of a feature phone :)
Smart phones a curse.
im sure you dont use the phone anymore but it has twitter right? from what i see it does... i know you can use the web browser or whatever but still... its the only social media app i actually use!
No it doesn't have Twitter
I like you wall
Thank you! It's my 'interest' wall which has taken me about 2 years to paint
how to get in touch with you? I am very similar. I want to quit all the social media (seriously, to delete the accounts) and unnecessary internet use. And I am also on my way to Christianism.
And I also walk barefoot. I want to join the community of alike people.
And i am ready to move anywhere right now.
I would appreciate if we could talk!
Thanks a lot.
p.s I am not a scam or pervert.
You are so cute
