@Lea S oh for sure, no doubt, like I said, she's singing in Greek, so if the Turks have a version it comes from a Greek song, lots of people do that with music, our national music sounds like music from England LOL!
I believe it is Greek. Greeks lived for millenia in Asia Minor before Turks came, and the Turks over the years assimilated, absorbed, translated, appreciated, claimed the most beautiful of the cultures they took over, including quite possibly and probably this beautiful lullaby.
It’s Greek. I am from turkey. But still know people who’s grandmother used to sing it in remembrance of symirna (when it was Greek, now it’s Izmir and this lullaby kinda tells the story of it.) my ancestors (were converted Greeks) were actually from selanik (Thessaloniki right now) but became refugees after the war so they lived in Izmir symirna, (which was occupied by Greeks at that time. Later on they moved to Anatolia to the Black Sea. And look there, there were mostly Rumanians. 😅 so Turks are kinda mixed in any way.
Greek Lullaby
Who sings the minute 4:03 ?
I wish I can play it on Oud. thank you
Maybe it's both Greek and Turkish, maybe they have two versions, it sounds like she is singing in Greek.

@@praisegod3768 even some of their symbols are of hittite origin. That lion that is put in Ataturk's grave is a hittite symbol.
