After I chanted the Heart Sutra during my first sit at the Chicago Zen Center, I never looked back. I was in theological school at the time. The Heart Sutra grabbed my attention more than any biblical passage at the time. So far, 17 years of sitting and doing nothing brought more awareness than the previous 34.

The first time you read the Heart Sutra it was written by your Ancestors. The second time you read the Heart Sutra it was written by your friends. The third time you read the Heart Sutra it was written by you. That is why there is no author attributed to it, it belongs to everyone and it is written by everyone. It reminds me of the teachings in the Daoist text known as the Dao De Jing; When the work is done, we put it down. And if it is done well, those who benefit from it will believe that they have done the work themselves.

Thanks. I like that way of describing it.

All three can be wrong by the way.
      Your ancestors can be wrong.
      Your friends can be wrong.
      And you can be wrong.
      Thus have I heard...means what?

The Heart Sutra is also the reason that I entered the stream.

I'm guessing the Heart Sutra has promoted Mahayana principles FAR more than any other document. And the reason is its length. Its densely packed with core principles on only ONE page, and very easy to make an enormous number of copies for distribution. It can also be chanted in a few minutes, not a few days.
Crazy thing is...although its called the heart (hridaya) sutra it doesn't contain the word 'heart'.
It only speaks of the five skandhas.
Which of the five skandhas is the heart?

I guess because it goes directly to the heart of buddhist teachings?

Since you asked for feedback on the Core Principles 10 min talk that you are preparing, I suggest: add this! Right when you said there's no accepted scripture. It is recited like scripture.

I'll mention the Heart Sutra. It was in my notes. I skipped it because I didn't have time to explain the Heart Sutra.

Next nice video. Your channel is brilliant. Can I ask if you know some valuable source about zen perspective on gay people? Since I have a really harsh discussion with my Catholic friend and I know only modern Theravada texts, which claim the Buddha has never rejected people just because they were the sexual minorities.

As far as I know, that's true, that the Buddha never rejected anyone for their sexuality. Of course, monks and nuns in his day were supposed to be strictly celibate. So, as far as the monks and nuns were concerned, who they were attracted to wasn't a big issue. Unless they couldn't stay celibate. As far as lay people went, the Buddha's advice about sexuality did not include any specific prohibitions against same-sex activities. He said lay followers should be sexually ethical, but didn't get much more specific than that.
In the Zen tradition, gay-ness has always been a non-issue. I'm unaware of any documents from the Zen tradition that address the topic at all. Until recently, though, Zen monks and nuns were also expected to be celibate. In the 20th century that changed, first in Japan and then, to some extent, elsewhere (it's mainly in Japan and in Europe and America that Zen monks and nuns don't have a rule of celibacy, in other parts of Asia, the celibacy tradition remains, although there are exceptions). Again, for lay people, Zen teachers don't seem to care one way or the other.
I wrote a book on the subject of sexuality in Zen called Sex Sin and Zen. There are a few other books about sexuality in Buddhism in general. One is called The Red Thread. I've forgotten the other titles. I know there are a couple more.
